Lucy loved being so close to Merle, it was almost like he was a security blanket, wrapping her up in comfort and peacefulness. She could breathe in the cologne he was wearing lightly on his skin, seeing his face and the small smile on his face, and his hand intertwined with hers lightly. If only they were something place more intimate and less awkward, since they came originally to look at her shoulder. Her shoulder was in fact feeling much better than before, almost back to normal.
She shook her head against his whilst he asked her if she found him odd. She loved his jokes, and smiled at him. Her other hand went up to move some of the hairs in front of hid eyes away, so she can see his green eyes and smile even wider. His eyes were always so green, reminding her of the trees outside of the school, and even of her home of the rolling hills that her house sits on.
"I don't find it a bad thing at all, that's what I like about you." She replied back to him in a soft tone and in a shrug, "And you're one of the only boys here at school that understands me." She moved her shoulder again and felt the pain, but only slightly since the drink was slowly working its magic. She moved her hair back from her eyes and from him as well, leaned back slightly and cracked her neck.
"Hopefully I can go back to the Common room sometime soon." She said aloud in a murmur as she looked back at the nurse to see where she went. But her position with Merle was nice and soothing, so it wasn't so bad as before when she was afraid of coming in the first place, "This place still gives me the creeps, plus I don't think being here and kissing isn't that romantic, don't you think?"

M E R L E s h e p h e r d s o n When everyone's lost, the battle is won She was opening a can of worms. You see, you wouldn't think Merle was a very affectionate person. He's too introverted, too introspective to deal with that sort of thing. He was too arrogant, too rational, too wrapped up in his own world, you might say. But underneath all that, he was just begging for touch. He just didn't know it. It was a sort of scary feeling to him, to have all of these untapped emotions rushing to the surface all at once, but it was... an almost pleasant sort of scary. Of course, her touch was all too addictive to him. Soon, he'd crave it like his body needed air. He'd become attached very quickly. Perhaps she'd grow tired of him in the weeks to come, but hopefully they'd grow together rather than push each other apart. Yes, he was odd. He had an interesting sense of humor and a different perspective on things than a lot of people. He let go of her hand, pulling it from hers . . . only to have his arm gently, tentatively snake around her waist, his hand resting on her hip. He pulled her close in an attempt to have her rest her head on his shoulder. "Yeah... It's a little chilly here, isn't it?" he said, glancing around. Where was that nurse, anyway? How many papers did she have to fill out? Her comment about kissing in the Hospital Wing not being romantic brought another tinge of pink to his cheeks. He glanced away, not exactly wanting to show his blush to her. "I think kissing anywhere is romantic." he finally grinned teasingly back at her. He then blinked, became quite pensive for a moment. "Ugh. I think I just gave myself diabetes. What have I become?" he asked, laughing.

Lucy blushed from her spot and kept her eyes on Merle, seeing him look away from her and she felt his hand going on her hip. She never saw this side of him before, seeing how affectionate and how loving he was toward her. To others he was a bit arrogant and a bit off, but not to her.
Never to her.
She saw some blush on his cheeks, and she couldn't help but kiss his cheek lovingly and let it linger for a moment or two. It was kind of hard not to at that moment, since she was feeling so warm inside and so full of life.
Lucy laughed from his remark and laced her fingers with the ones that was on her hip. His touch on her was a bit possessive, but she liked it that way. She saw the nurse finishing the paperwork and smiled at Merle. She walked over and smiled at Merle.
"You're free to head back if you wish to, just be very careful with that shoulder for the rest of the night and take tomorrow easy. Come back if the pain comes back and is worse." the nurse explained to her and smiled, going back to the desk and working on other papers. Lucy smiled.
"So, after I get out of here, I think we should go back to the Common Room and I'll make sure you don't wallow in your own self pity." Lucy said in a joking tone and smiled from her own joke to him. She leaned her head on his shoulder and drew in a deep breath, she wanted to be away from the hospital wing and back in the common room, with Merle.

M E R L E s h e p h e r d s o n With all these things that I've done That soft kiss to his cheek only made his blush deepen, and he smiled boyishly down to her. Her fingers laced with his and he squeezed her hand gently. Possessive? Maybe. But she hadn't seen the worst of it! Pretty soon, she'd have to deal with him holding her hand -- in public! Gasp! How horrifying! The nurse came up and instructed them on the care and keeping of an injured Lucy. Plenty of rest, come back if it gets worse. The usual, it seemed. Nodding, he thanked the nurse and watched as she walked of to go file some more papers, or whatever else she did back there in that room. She suggested that they head back to the Common Room and he smirked slightly. "And how do you plan to stop me from wallowing in my own self-pity, hm?" he asked, sliding off of the bed and standing. He waited for her to stand and would take her hand in his, hesitantly lacing his fingers with her own. That was an entirely new feeling, too. He could feel her pulse in her hand, her beating heart just from that touch. She could likely feel his own pulse, too. He nudged her playfully. "It's getting a little late you know." he grinned.

Lucy nodded her head, getting up slowly from the bed and feeling Merle take her hand in his. It was a perfect feeling going off in her chest as the both of them started to walk out of the wing and back to the common room. The mood was lighter, much lighter since they were holding hands in almost a intimate way. She could get used to holding hands with him, and it's not that they havent done it before. But this time it's different. Now that she kissed him, she wanted to hug him constantly, breathe him in and remind herself that this is real, be able to kiss him when she wanted to, it was all new to her. It was like she was seeing the world through a new pairs of eyes, vibrant eyes, bright eyes.
As they walked, Lucy thought of what was going to come next, what were they going to be then? A couple, and if they were, were they going to go public with their relationship or hide behind closed doors? It was all new to her, she never had this happen to her before. So she looked over at him, the both of them still walking. The wild was chilly in the hall, giving her goosebumps and making her shiver slightly, but she was getting goosebumps from another source, and he was holding her hand.
"So, since I literally jumped on you back there in the hospital, where does this leave us? I mean, I never was in this kind of position before, and I don't know what to do and.....oh god i'm rambling." Lucy said in a worried tone and stopped talking. She was looking more like a idiot than ever before. She hoped that Merle wasn't going to see her like a freak of nature.
