Dementor Sightings

Dear Hogwarts staff and students,

Yesterday, a terrible event has occurred that affects the entire school board and all of the students. At about 8pm yesterday night, Tracy Berham was walking along the courtyards returning to her dormitory after a Charms lesson when she suddenly felt a shiver. Thinking that it was just the fact that night was nearing she continued walking without thinking anything of it. Within moments she noticed that it was getting much colder and it was affecting the entire atmosphere and not just her. She turned around to notice a dark figure that was hovering over her. Realizing it was a dementor, she dropped her books and started running hoping to find someone to help her and get away from the terrible creature. The dementor was up for the chase, caught up to her and starting doing what dementors were known for doing.

Tracy screamed for help and Professor Thelma Ataman came to her rescue. Using the patronus charm to get rid of the creature, she brought Tracy to the hospital wing where she was cared for by the nurse. Earlier today we caught up with Tracy and she had this to say,

"It came out of no where and instantly tried to harm me. It was terrifying and I hope to never meet with another dementor again. If it wasn't for Professor Ataman, I wouldn't have stood a chance."

There is an investigation going on as to why the dementor was here in the first place. Since dementors usually do not travel alone, there are many more thought to be around the castle. The Ministry was contacted and had this to say,

"Dementors are highly dangerous creatures with potentially fatal abilities, which is the reason they are stationed at Azkaban under strict and heavy moderation by trained personnel. The Ministry of Magic is currently investigating reasons as to why the dementors escaped from Azkaban Prison, in addition to how they managed to escaped undetected by the personnel stationed at the prison. I assure you that when the Ministry knows more information about the rogue dementor attack at Hogwarts, the public will as well."

We urge you to take extreme precautions. The reasons for the sudden appearance is unknown so it is extremely important to not travel alone and make to make sure you brush up on spells that can protect yourself from these devastating creatures.

Alright so this is our first little sub-plot of the site. Keep in mind that this will grow and escalate into a bigger storyline as time goes on with more twists and interesting events along the way.

We are creating a DEMENTOR account that will be invisible to users. It will roam around the site and will post in random threads if the people in the threads are not careful enough. If you absolutely DO NOT[/u] want a dementor to come into your thread then post a little line at the beginning of the opening post stating "I do not want a dementor to come into my thread" and it will not come. If you don't care or if you don't mind the dementor coming in then leave this sentence out. Just because you want it though doesn't mean you will. The severity may also be random too so a dementor may whoosh by but not take interest or may be hovering right behind you. Anything is fair game if that line is not in the opening post.
