Potions is one of her [many] favourite subjects, and is one of the only two subjects that she just has a natural talent for. She does know the material before they do it in class most of the time, but she's just not the type to raise her hand when he asks questions etc- she'd just stay silent even if she knows the answer, unless she's called on. So he may not even be aware that she's particularly good in it, and her potions come out average because she just honestly doesn't try her best in class, because she knows if she did she'd do really well and, strange little Liberty, doesn't like to top/excel in her classes. She even messes up things slightly on purpose, to make sure her potions doesn't come out perfect. how would he react to this/what would he think of her?[/blockquote]

They'd at least be acquaintances, since they both teach. And I dunno, I think it's possible these two might actually get along in a very convoluted way. Firstly, Isaac is aware that age means nothing insofar as determining thinks like intellect and skill, which means that Isaac would be very respectful of Bryce, which in turn might mean that Bryce might feel a little less like he has to impress by being mean. On the flip side of that, Isaac wouldn't really be phased by Bryce's "superior to thou" routine, because honestly, Isaac is aware of exactly where he stands and he doesn't much care what people say otherwise. And secondly, Isaac would appreciate Bryce for his intellect and maturity.

Now, even with all this in mind, neither of them really seem to be the type to skip through a meadow declaring their undying friendship. So I'm thinking it might be fun for them to kind of be in mock-competition with each other, the kind of friends who throw jabs at each other all the time but really it's because they know the other can take it. What do you think?

Bryce would threaten to take points from Ravenclaw for breakdowns or tears xD He would probably make her really nervous, he believes students should have confidence (tho' too much and he'll rip you apart) so if her performance started to decrease he might call her into his office after class one day and basically tell her to man-up, she could get a hint of his almost nice side?

If Bryce did find out she was pretty talented in Potions but wasn't exhibiting it, he would have to threaten it out of her. He's always looking for a talented student, thinking the majority of the school is partially handicapped, so this would be a golden find for him. Depending on how she messes up in class (on purpose), he could either have watched her, as the same with the rest of the class, but had caught on that she might be making mistakes on purpose. Or we could do something else where maybe Liberty was brewing a potion after hours (whether for practice or personal use) but it was exceptionally difficult but she made it perfectly/close to perfect; he was patrolling either found her with her potion or found the potion and some indication of hers, her notebook etc and that could lead into him realizing she was pretty good at the subject. Just an idea.

Haha, I actually like that thought a lot. Bryce would like the fact that he doesn't take age as seriously as others do when it comes to skill. Since Isaac looks as if he would hold his own Bryce wouldn't deny a subtle friendship. Although the mock competition could be a bit fun. I feel as though these two would (along with the competitions) make meaningless little bets wherever the occasion calls for it.

Kadie could probably be his average student then. He would throw the usual jab at her during class about her potion or answer if he called on her. But if she wanted his help he would probably make her earn it, he would have to see if she was serious about this O or taking his help. Sort of like Potions bootcamp xD

I like all of these ideas. Maybe she could mess up some potions on purpose, and he could've suspected it because of little things like maybe if she had to chop up a certain ingredient a certain way, she would've done it perfectly, then taken the knife and shorten two of them on purpose and other things like that.
Hmm I just had her discover The Room of Requirement (she's not the type that would brew it in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.. she wouldn't be able to ignore the ghost, it would unsettle her) in one of my threads so maybe one day (in another thread ) she could have found a potions book there, and well the room adjusted for her and made a little corner suitable for brewing potions and well through that the second bit of your idea would occur- she could have decided to brew an exceptionally difficult potion (though I still gotta figure out her motive) and well he found her.
Or one day he could see her exit the room(before curfew) and if he's a curious type of person he could have caught the door before it closes and ends up going in and sees the potion and such.
The first one we'd have to RP out, the second he could just approach her afterwards about it in class or something. It's up to you, I'm fine with either way. [/blockquote]
