DETAILED:
Astrid Elkjær is handsome. Isn't that adjective meant to compliment men? Yes, but unfortunately Astrid was born with that bone structure that says, "Hello, I am masculine." She's got a strong jaw line and if she gains a few pounds her chunky cheeks will come out like it's nothing. Her small dark eyes are unnoticeable among her wide face and she has to play them up with mascara or they completely die out on her. After all, looking her best is the last thing she has left. This doll of a face is framed by her dark rooted blond hair. It is clearly suggested that Astrid was born with dark hair and hasn't dyed it in a while but when asked she will always state that she is a natural blond.
She has one of those bodies that implies she has not eaten a piece of cake since she was a little girl. Her ribs are proof enough of that, they are clearly visible through her flat model-like chest. And when she shakes her butt, you may notice the fact that she has no real hips. Yes, Astrid has the deprived of food look going on and when you see her looking in the mirror you know she still isn't confident with what she sees. A small foot tells her she will forever be a short girl, but she knew she was done growing long ago. That's why you will often she her trying to make herself taller with different shoes and ways of doing her hair. She may also ogle at any advertisement promising her a woman's curves.
Astrid dresses like a girl with money, and no mother to monitor her. She goes on binges of buying everything in sight even though she will probably just end up wearing her old jeans and a tight tee-shirt anyway. She doesn't really know how to dress herself, even if she has all the tools sitting in her closet. She ends up wearing the uniform of black robes and showing off some house pride instead of getting fancy anyway. She feels there is other ways of showing she has money than spending it on her clothing.

PERSONALITY
DISLIKES: dressing up, school work, hearing rumors buzzing around, being lectured by anyone, valentine's day, sailing sports (Grenaa being a port city, the nanny took her sailing once), the ocean, snowy months
STRENGTHS: thinking through the consequences, getting away with her reckless ways, at one time the dark arts, being cold to others opinions, reasoning with people,
WEAKNESSES: school work and classes, caring for people other than Leif, dancing, dressing herself up, finding girls to be her friends
ERISED: Her parents did not raise Leif and herself coldly, they treat the twins with love and care. Astrid is no longer the class slut and she is still talented in the dark arts. She has no longer hurt Leif and the two are proud to be Elkjærs.
BOGGART: Hearing Leif call her the same names everyone else does, having her brother leave her to fight the world alone.
DEMENTOR: The day she hurt Leif with dark magic, the look on his face as he writhed in pain, the sound of his limp afterwards, and how her parents refused to notice it.
DETAILED:
Meet Miss Astrid, she's one of those girls who always has a serious pout on her face. See her in the hallway and you think some nasty thought because she's the girl every rumor is about. She struts with a little sass and only talks to girls who are as wild as her. Of course she'll talk to any boy who looks at her twice. In fact if you're wondering what those rumors are about, it's what exactly she does at night with the said boys who adore her so. And even though she may be looked down upon she doesn't particularly care. She's cold to others opinions, something she learned from her twin brother, Leif at an early age.
Astrid is known not to be the sharpest tool in the shed. At least not during the school hours, her street smarts are a little different. After all, when you're willing to do anything you have to know how to get out of it afterward. She's an expert at getting poor boys to do her homework anyway. And it's not like she plans on working when she grows up, that's why she's pureblood. Astrid, unlike most people around her doesn't have anything against those who aren't pureblood, it's just that purebloods tend to run on the wilder side. And so they tend to end up being her friends. Astrid tends to be a lone wolf anyway, after all who would want their reputation soiled by being seen with the likes of her. She's definitely not the elegant pureblood you see everyone else modeling after. She still acts like a child, not really paying attention to anything but sneaking out and having the time of her life.
You may be thinking that behind curtains Astrid must be crying every night or that she's the terrible victim of a bullying story from some children book but really she sleeps soundly. She scowls when she hears love poems because she thinks it is the biggest lie ever and when the other girls in her class giggle over a guy all she sees is their body. She makes a crude comment that everyone tries to ignore. Her vulgarity came at a young age she must admit but it's not like they weren't thinking it. She only speaks the truth. Perhaps she's a little blunt but what can a girl do?

HISTORY
MOTHER: Britta, mid-fifties, danish, pureblood
FATHER: Klaus, early sixties, danish, pureblood
SIBLINGS:
Lief, sixteen, danish, pureblood, Astrid's twin
Henrik, five, danish, pureblood
DETAILED: On the last day of November, 1979 the parents of Leif and Astrid Elkjær welcomed their twins into the world. With upmost care the young couple began to raise the troublemakers in the same way they were raised. The children were always attended to, but a nanny was more probable to be at their bedside then their mother. She had more important things to do, like get her figure back and attend her weekly book club. Their father would often leave the house to get away from the crying, his headaches causing frustration and he soon discovered the first thing he couldn't just punch to shut up was his infant children. By the time the infants had become toddlers they had learned when to shut their mouths and when to get out of the house quick. Astrid and Leif fought for responsibility over each other when they got away from the sight of their nanny. Astrid's argument being that she was older and Leif's being that he was stronger and a boy. They played games that allowed them to sneak around and listen upon their family and neighbors conversations. Until they were old enough to be taught properly this is how they learned about the world around them. Of course their parents did care about them, just not the way parents usually do. Their mother had had trouble having children in the past and this was her first success. So when she looked upon her children she saw a trophy of gold. Two children for the price of one? Yes, please. The father saw two heirs to the mighty pureblood line, which would surely earn respect among his colleges.
Time increased and Leif sprouted inches and then a foot above the tiny Astrid. She fought to keep her spot as his equal and let herself be known by studying her father's books on magic whenever no one was looking. Practicing with her mother's wand and making the nanny clean up the road of destruction she left behind her. She was reckless when it came to magic and didn't care about the consequences, anything to keep the respect of her twin brother. Anything to look good when she finally begun school, something she was looking forward to. And when Leif and she were enrolled, they both shone of pride. Their pureblood line written on their forehead with the way they carried themselves. They were sorted, no house preferences in the family led them to accept everyone in the beginning. But by the time their first year was over they were picky with their friends and Astrid had begun a different exploration. For the first time she was introduced to boys who were not her brother. The new experience perked her ears and she was up for anything when it came to them. Her brother teased her, pointing out her reckless ways and sarcastically asking where she acquired them. The next summer her reckless ways would be slowed down drastically when the twins were practicing a bit of dark arts in a field near their house and Astrid accidentally hit Leif. In the moment she had looked down upon his crying body with absolute horror in the scene and absolute disgust in his pain. She ran for the nanny and it was their secret. Although no parents eye could have missed Leif's new limp, they ignored it like they ignored all aspects of their children. For the next month she sat next to her brother everyday without saying a word, afraid to talk to him in case he hated her but afraid to be alone when she was constantly haunted by the scene. Reckless Astrid returned to Hogwarts the next two years less reckless, she was still open to everything but began thinking about consequences and how to get around them. Her mind opened to the other side of the dark arts and when she continued to practice it she was too careful and her talents began to fade slightly.
Over the next couple years Astrid would become a dangerous girl in a different way than dark arts. She would lose her virginity and then pretend to lose it two more times. She would try to acquire the love she so lusted for from almost every boy in her year and as they one by one turned away from her she would realize that she didn't care much for love anymore. Instead she filled her hole by making herself known as a world class slut. She became blunt as she got older, hating people who beat around the bush. She disliked those gooey words that tried to make the center different. Slowly the girls turned away from her, abandoning her until the only ones that could like her were the boys who couldn't love her. Her studies fell behind and she became the dumb bell in class, although no one could call her dumb only uncaring. For she still showed wit outside of the classroom and could get out of any problem, consequences were unknown to her now. In her fifth year, her mother would give birth to a baby boy. Another little brother for the family to hurt and scar from the inside out. Her first thoughts were that she couldn't protect this one. He was irrelevantly on his own. But she got over it quickly because her mother showed a different love for the boy, one much more motherly than she ever showed for Astrid and Lief. This year was also the first time a rumor about her sleeping with a boy got home. That summer had been hellish, her father had whipped her while she stood bare and weeping. Maybe this was the last straw, but when she entered her sixth year she knew how to get her parents attention and she wasn't afraid of any whip or belt. Astrid was feeling a little reckless.

RP SAMPLE:
Astrid Elkjær stood in her parent's field, the yellowish grass engulfing her almost to her waist and her rosewood wand in her hand. The heat of summer made her blond hair shine in the light and Leif's dark hair drip down his face. She stood with her feet apart and eyes closed. The twins were practicing the dark arts, again. Astrid had become quite good at it, and she enjoyed watching Leif struggle while she could vent through the simple wave of her wand and torture of any animals in this tangled field. They had spent the morning reading in their father's library. He was off at work and they could sneak around mother and nanny. Oh, how Astrid hoped she would master this new spell first. How she longed to be better than Leif, it would impress everyone so. For shouldn't the boy be better than she? But Astrid was born with the talent and she knew it.
"One, Two, Three" the mumbled it to herself and on the third number waved her wand and said the words that would change her brother. For Astrid had not been aiming well and Leif was hit. He fell to the ground, facing upward at the summer sun. She had hit his left leg, where there would be a limp for the rest of his life. And as she ran to him, the only person she really cared for, looked down upon and saw he was in pain. His eyes screamed it to stop, and Astrid turned away fast so her dear brother wouldn't see the look of absolute disgust on her own face. Disgust towards her brothers pain and disgust towards her own actions. Her mind cleared and she ran for nanny. She thought she heard him make some smart alec comment as she went.
Up the back porch stairs, into the house and nanny sat knitting in her usual spot. The needle shone as Astrid ran to her and tugged on her shoulder. "Come quick, Leif is hurt." She whispered it for her mother could not know, and nanny was reliable in the art of secret keeping. The older woman got up and walked out, no matter how much Astrid tugged she would not run. They arrived at Leif's ragged body only as it seemed he was calming down and Astrid cupped her baby brother's head into her arms like a mother would. He had blacked out now, but Astrid was talking to him anyway. Whispering things about how funny this would seem later in life, and they probably missed something in that book about aiming properly.
