Tri-Wizard Tournament

Hey guys,

Yesterday, a couple of sites (including Magical Purpose) were PMed between each other seeing if there was an interest to do a Tri-Wizard Tournament between these said sites. Turns out that all the site admins are interested, but we wanted to run this idea by our members before fully implementing the idea to see how many people like it, don't like it etc.

As some background, what would happen is that there will be another board that will be made for this tournament. One person from each site will be chosen to go into the tournament and represent their site just as they did in the books (representing their schools). How we will choose this person on our site will be a mixture of nominees, voting, and then a top 3/5 from the voting will compete in a mini-challenge. The winner will most likely be the one to go on. That is still up in the air but either way someone will be chosen. You as members (if not picked) can join as well and cheer on our school! It could be a great oppurtunity to boost the sites activity, create friendships with people from other sites, and bring us closer together as a community ourselves.

There may be one other site involved so it may be a Quad-Wizard Tournament (which will work out better) though that doesn't really make much of a difference. Either way it'll be a tournament haha. It's also up in the air whether co-admin characters will be allowed to partake or help run the show so I'm going to say for now that they will probably help run more than participate. Just as a heads up (though again this is all still up in the air)

There will be areas for those who are not part of the tournament but still part of the sites to role play if they want as well. It is not mandatory to join the site however.

We discussed things today as admins and, again, we wanted to run it by you guys. So please vote and comment with your take on this =)

Also note that just because this may happen, there are still plots being planned out for our site individually that will be put into affect soon. So don't think this is our plot for a while. No sir.

I love this idea! Not only will it give us a chance to ignore houses and represent ourselves as schools, but it will also give MP a huge plug in a few other sites and get the word out about the site.

Just a few questions.

1. If we do decide to RP on this tournament board, would we be able to (in the end) credit all the posts we made from that board to our post count on this site?
2. Are the 3 or 4 schools participating all set in Hogwarts? Although I'm sure we could figure something out to work around it, this is me just being curious.
3. What kind of timeline are we looking at? The next couple weeks? A month? A few months? When will the organization start? When roughly will it start and how long will it last?

Is it going to be like in the books, so only seventh years can compete, or anyone can? Probably the question has already been answered up there because of the voting thing. But I'm just making sure xD.

Fair questions

1) We can probably work that out, ya. I don't see why not. Unless it's a lot of work haha in that case it may be unnecessary though I don't see it being a problem
2) Ya they're all set at Hogwarts. We couldn't find a Beauxbatons or Durmstrang haha and needed to pick active sites around our activity level and stuff. I figured it'd be easier to say "different sites" instead of "different schools"
3) We're going to start working on it as soon as we can (we already have actually) and it'll probably start in the next few weeks. I would assume anyway. It would go from when we're ready until when it's over haha
4) Nope, I think we'll make it open to 5-7th years because it probably won't be too fair to do it any other way. Wouldn't make sense younger but wouldn't make sense to limit it to 7th years either. Especially since we don't have enough 7th years on the site.

I've never seen this done between sites before to be honest, so it sounds really fun!
One question to add,

Will the challenges be OC or IC? as in will we be RPing our characters doing the challenges or is it stuff the members themselves have to do? If that makes sense.

We haven't decided yet Liberty But probably a bit of both. We're going to plan it to be the most fun, most fair, and really enjoyable to watch as well. We'll be figuring all this out as the planning contineus

I accidentally ran across a sign-up thread for this tournament (they mentioned magical purpose ) on another site today. They said it'll start around the end of june, so I think this is definitely on.
