Rowena is a third year Hufflepuff girl of Indian and Irish origins who suffers from being cripplingly shy. She likes to draw and play piano and, academically, she excels in wand-work lessons but studies hard to be good at her other subjects too. Because of being so shy, many people see her as not worth their time and she can sometimes see herself this way too. It takes a lot of persistence to become her friend but once class as so, you'll never be replaced.

Rowena would very rarely start a conversation with anyone she didn't know so most of her friendships begin with someone else being friendly and perhaps a little funny. It takes quite a while for her to fully open up and is too much effort for most people and for this reason she doesn't have many close friends. She is most likely to know people in her year group through lessons but maybe you met her while playing Quidditch (she's an excellent Chaser) or bumped into her in a corridor once..?

Rowena isn't an easy person to hate. She will go out of her way not to offend people. However, many see this and her shyness as weakness, and perhaps it is, so they look down on her. Row particularly can't stand loud or obnoxious people but would never ever say anything. She also hates lending stationary to people and getting it back all chewed and disgusting or not getting it back at all. She is not beyond jealousy or a classroom rivalry though.

Rowena is straight but she's never had a boyfriend. She would be open to a relationship but, considering the persistence it takes to be her friend, imagine how stubborn you'd have to be to become her boyfriend! She does get the odd crush but wouldn't ever consider herself good enough to do anything about it. She's a pretty girl though and unrequited love in either direction isn't out the picture.

Hmmm. Well, there is a couple
years difference. But maybe they
met in the library since both
spend a bit of time studying? And
then they became really good friends
that way? Maybe Kadie views Row kind
of like a younger sister to her, and she's protective
of her?

I like this idea! Rowena's older brother left Hogwarts at the end of her first year and she misses his protection. She's had some bullying (although I have no character to play the bully at the mo) so an older sister would definitely be a lovely character to have! Also, having a nice character to lay her problems off to would be good for her.
She is (as we both know) that she is rediculously shy and not very self-confident at all so she needs friends to tell her all the time how silly she is being but Kadie is blunt but lovely enough to do that anyways :]
