DETAILED: Face & Hair: Diana, though she spends hours in front of the mirror, cannot actually describe herself as beautiful. The farthest she reaches is 'mildly pleasant.' And she is not too far from the truth - while she is not strictly beautiful, she has a certain charm that attracts the eye and will not let it go. She has bright blue eyes that seem to radiate a certain vitality, and she has golden hair that is long, and somewhat wavy, going down to the small of her back. Her hair is one of the things about her that she knows is gorgeous, and as result she will spend hours grooming it - and she loves to experiment with it. Therefore curling, straightening, cutting, coloring - all of it is within bounds for her. Her hair, despite all the abuse that it has been subjected to, still remains fairly voluminous - perhaps because of the expensive products that she uses to make sure it stays that way. Her face may be termed as not unpleasant - she has high cheekbones, and fairly regular features, even though there are people (actually, her) who think her nose is too big. Her smile is one of her assets - with her full, pink lips and her straight, even teeth along with her slightly pointed canines.
Body and Skin: Now even Diana, in some of her trips to the mirror, will describe herself as hot. She's tall, and long-legged. She has been blessed with curves to be any woman's envy and is well-toned thanks to the amount of quidditch she plays. Her skin is even-toned and tanned healthily from the amount of time she spends outdoors. It is mostly free of any blemishes, and she works hard to keep it that way, because she has a tendency to get oily skin and break out into ugly pimples that she absolutely cannot bear. She has gone to the extent of hiding away for three days in her dorm room after getting a pimple in her third year, but has since learned the proper creams and proper charms to ensure that she would not have to do that again.
Dressing: Diana knows exactly what her best features are - and she knows how to flaunt them. So she'll wear the tightest dresses that show off her curves, very short shorts that show off her long legs make-up that will enhance the pout of her lips and the line of her eyes, hairstyles that will flatter her face and colors that will flatter her skin color. But most importantly, its her clothing which most reflects her need to get attention. Therefore, bright attractive colors are definitely in - yellow, orange, fuschia, red - are some of her favorites. She'll wear loads of outrageous jewelery, even when it can get her into trouble (sometimes to get into trouble) - she'll wear loads of bold make-up, the latest styles, the highest heels, the most revealing styles - everything she can do to catch an eye. She believes she is always most amazingly classy, but sometimes she does become trashy when she goes overboard - not that it would matter to her - any talk about her is good.

DETAILED: One word covers Diana most aptly - she's an attention-seeker. Since as long as she can remember, she has wanted to be the center of the world, and a lot of the things that she does seem targeted to achieving this object. She loves rumors and she loves gossiping - and she absolutely loves to hear about herself, good or bad. Any attention is good attention. To get what she wants, she can absolutely ruthless. You stand in her way, she will eat you alive. Her biggest weapons, of course, are her sarcasm and her extreme outward confidence - when she cuts you, she'll make you believe that you're the dirt beneath her feet. She has an iron tongue and a will to match - and if you mess with her (or worse, try to expose her own insecurities) she'll bring you down through any means (rumors, stealing guys, nothing is too much) - even if it takes years. She absolutely loves the feeling of belonging and will love to get into any group or clique, even if she has to do stupid, bold, outrageous things to do it - bravery is not something she has ever lacked, and the last thing she ever wants to do is to be afraid.
But while she looks absolutely unafraid on the outside, inside she is one of the most insecure people in the world. She feels small, and inferior, compared to most of her peers - though she will never, ever let them see that. And so she lies, a lot. She lies the most about her family - at one moment they live in villa in france, and at another they have a dog and she has a little brother, and by another account she has a beautiful garden with the rarest roses in the world, and by yet another she has an abusive father - she cant really keep her stories straight all the time (she often tells these to people in confidence while keeping one outside story that most people know) - and she knows how to play on the emotions of the person in front of her and make them believe her, and even if they do suspect her, she has her amazing confidence to pull her through. She lies about a lot of little things too, almost obsessively, sometimes for no reason at all, but mostly to seem important. She absolutely loves to pretend that she is important.
She's a shameless flirt and she loves to have flings and relationships simply because it makes her feel attractive. She'll break your heart without any remorse because she simply wont feel anything. She hates the thought of commitment simply because anyone that close to her would know way too much about her and she cant deal with that. When she wants something - even if its a guy - she wants it right then and there and she cant tolerate disappointment, in fact, it makes her even more determined to get what she wants and she'll get it by hook or by crook. She's good at pretending and having facades about who she is - most people, for example, think that she's a very open, honest girl. When she thinks about things like that, she almost laughs. She has almost everybody fooled - not everyone, of course, but she can brush those people off, or take revenge on them, at a later point.
Other things about her - she's athletic and she loves to play quidditch, especially since she's fairly good and she can get a lot of attention that way (plus, its belonging in a team), even though it messes up her hair and make-up. She likes very much to look good and can be quite vain sometimes. While other people's problems bore her she often pretends to be very interested. She likes exploring - especially in the nights, and in rainy weather, and outdoors - being indoors makes her feel too much like she's in a cage and she absolutely cant be tamed. She doesnt like to be alone and she doesnt like to be ignored - if she's in a party, she better be the girl that people remember in the end - even if its only because she's the girl who drank way too much and ended up kissing every guy in the room. She has a bit of a reputation for things like that, but that just makes her feel better. She doesnt like people stopping her from doing things she likes - therefore her dislike for rules and authority figures. She is quite friendly (or seems so) and she loves to make friends with people gifted in any way - rich people, beautiful people (though she'll be terribly jealous and do something behind your back), or intelligent ones - all her contacts seem like people she can use rather than ones she actually likes.

DETAILED: Diana Aeya Black was born as Daisy Emmy Mason - though no one has ever really had the pleasure of knowing this information except her immediate family. More importantly - she was a born a mistake. A drunken mistake of a mother who was only 18, with a man who was way too old for her. Her mother was disowned by her rich family (for which she never quite forgave her husband, her daughter, or the six or seven other children she had), and Daisy was raised amidst poverty and amongst neglect, in a household where her parents would constantly fight all the time, and who would ignore her - and if they didnt, they would hurt her too, as much as they hurt each other. That was when she learned to slip into the background so no one could ever see her - and that was also when she realized how much she hated it. And because of the fact that she was barely schooled till the age of 8, and the fact that everyone in her neighbourhood looked down on this little girl with her lies and her stories and her wishes that she lived in a better world - everyone ignored her. And then her world changed when her maternal grandfather came into her life.
By that time, she was already doing things that made her father and mother nervous, if they ever cared to think about it, which was rare enough because it was so soon after the birth of their third child and there was hardly any time or money to keep body or soul together, and certainly not enough to wonder why their daughter kept changing the colors of the flowers she often brought inside the house (she liked to roam a lot, even as a kid, and then bring the outdoors back in with her), or why every time she was looking out of the window at the rain the colors of the drops turned into deep, violent shades of red - or if she was happy for some reason - violet, orange, yellow. And then one day she heard her mother all frazzled because her grandfather's latest wife had died and he had decided it was time to reconnect with his daughter, and he was coming home.
He did, even though it was a mostly disastrous meeting where Bill through a tantrum and Lydia cried and the children misbehaved - all except one kid who kept looking at the rain drops falling down the window. And turning them all red. And black. And he noticed her magical talent immediately, and took her away with him to London, and warned his daughter to never contact him again. And for a few years Daisy was actually happy - though her grandfather always had newer, more beautiful women (it was from them that she learned her first skills in the art of beauty, and flirting) and he ignored her. When she was old enough, they shipped her off to Durmstrang (that was his school, after all, long ago when he hadnt lived in england) and made sure she stayed there all the time - but even there, she was mostly ignored. And she hated being ignored. Her grandfather ignored her requests for the kind of clothes she wanted and her desire to change her name (Daisy was too plain, and she could not be Daisy Mason) because he did not believe in that for his granddaughter. But she watched, and she learned.
And then the unthinkable happened. It was in her fourth year that she recieved the news that her grandfather was dead. She immediately rushed home - and found that she was the new owner of a beautiful house and enough money to last three generations if she was thrifty (the words of her grandfather's lawyer) - though she had no real intentions of actually being thrifty. She decided spending lavishly - she stayed in his huge house, retained his housekeeper, moved to the master bedroom, and filled the wardrobe with the most well-designed clothes, jewelery and make-up money could buy. (After having a proper send off for him, of course.) And she changed her name to Diana Aeya Black. And she moved to Hogwarts, ready to rule the school.
And she did undergo a drastic change. She was no longer on the backlines. She was no longer invisible. Love or hate her, it was no longer possible to ignore her.
Not that she will tell you any of this. If you ask - she'll be the pureblood daughter of the blacks, with an elder brother who's passed out as an auror and who is now high up in the ministry or the little sister who might be a squib. If you ask her she'll tell you about her house in london - sometimes she will invent dogs or cats, sometimes not. If you ask her she'll tell you about how much her parents love her and about how she was the envy of every eye in Durmstrang but moved because her parents had decided she would do half her schooling in hogwarts, her mother's school.
There is never any mention of abuse, or of a grandfather, or of Daisy Mason.
