NAME Arianne Caroline Lane HOUSE Ravenclaw YEAR 5th Year EXTRA HOUSE POINT OPPORTUNITY Well, just one? That's really tough. Perhaps the Siege of Mercaptly, which occured in the year 1622 and is generally considered the turning point of the Golbin Riots because it marked the beginning of the end of the riots, though the riots have generally been known as the '25-year massacre' and continued for 24 and a half years after their start in 1612 in Hogsmeade. The Siege of Mercaptly involved brilliant strategical decisions by a golbin captain known as Tenterhook, who died in the next war in 1623, after which the goblins lacked sufficient leadership for at least the next five years and the first stage of the riots ended. I know that its a first year fact which is probably not very impressive but it has stuck with me and is part of my first and one of my most memorable history lessons.

NAME: Brandon Thorne HOUSE: Ravenclaw YEAR: 5th EXTRA HOUSE POINT OPPORTUNITY One of my favourite wizarding facts? That's tough. I guess when the Ministry of Magic took over Gringotts and then gave all the power back to the goblins. I think it's pretty cool how that whole thing hapened.

NAME: Kadie Elizabeth Taylor HOUSE: Gryffindor YEAR: Fifth EXTRA HOUSE POINT OPPORTUNITY: Wow. That's a good question. Well, I'm muggle-born. I had no idea about the wizarding world until I got my letter. After I got my letter I became anxious to learn all there is to learn about Hogwarts and it's history. So I guess you could say my favorite history facts have to do with Hogwarts. I love the fact that the four founding people founded Hogwarts and how that got started. Of course how Salazar Slytherin was, wasn't all that cool. But it's just fascinating.

Yeah, so did you know, right, that Gryffindor, like the original Gryffindor he was like, best friends with the original Slytherin man. Thats true. I read that somewhere. Or someone told me. But yeah. Dunno why, 'cos by all accounts Slytherin was a bas-. Ahem. A not very nice guy."
NAME Rowena Amrita Selby HOUSE Huffle puff YEAR 3rd year EXTRA HOUSE POINT OPPORTUNITY "Um, St Mungo's hospital in London was founded somewhere around the late 1500s, early 1600s by Mungo Bonham, who discovered many of the treatments still used in healing today. Um, my Mum told me that"

NAME Liberty Edenway HOUSE Ravenclaw YEAR 5th EXTRA HOUSE POINT OPPORTUNITY "I really love not just looking at Wizarding history, but how it crosses with Muggle History and our interactions with them. So when the Witch trials originated in France, in the fourteenth century is one of my favourite wizarding historical facts. It includes both muggles and wizards, showing that the wizarding and muggle worlds and their histories are not always completely separated. In the fourteenth century there were witch burnings. In one case in particular, Wendelin the Weird burned at the stake 47 times in various disguises. He managed to do this by using the flame-freezing charm, and this shows that muggles are were afraid of magic but did not completely understand it. It was this same alienation of muggles from Magic that actually caused Hogwarts to be built, as it was the growing distrust of the muggles that compelled our four, renowned founders of Hogwarts to build the school...and if I go deeper into that I'll be going into a second fact, I'm sorry, I'll stop now."
