Liam considers his appearance to be a walking statement of protest. His hair is a dark brown naturally, but he prefers to keep it died black. He is also usually seen dressed in all or mostly black. He does this in silent rebellion of the accepted norms of society. He only wears the school uniforms when he has to (unfortunately, this is most of the time) and as soon as he can change into something else. His favorite article of clothing is the black leather jacket that his Aunt Luci gave him when he turned fifteen. Liam is a pureblood and the leather jacket is an article of muggle clothing, but he doesn’t care. He likes the way it gives him a burst of self-confidence when he has it on.
He usually keeps a black felt-tipped marker hidden in one of the pockets of his robes and sometimes doodles on his left hand or forearm during classes when he gets bored. He’ll draw anything from cartoon characters to religious or other random symbols he’s come across in text books.
Liam typically doesn’t spend much time fussing with his hair (other than dying it black). He keeps it sort of shaggy looking and prefers the messy, bed-head look so he doesn’t have to worry about brushing it or gel or any other sort of styling products (they actually kind of scare him). The most he ever does to his hair (besides washing it) is to run his fingers through it and perhaps put on a hat if he can get away with it. He would describe himself as having an average body build. He isn’t really an athletic person and doesn’t spend much time moving (except for getting to class and going to quidditch practice), but he’s not overweight or anything either.

Liam is actually a pretty good guy. He tends to be shy and has some trouble connecting with his fellow students. He is quite intelligent, but the thing that really sets him apart is his eidetic memory, which the ability to recall images, sounds, etc. with extreme accuracy. He has what is typically referred to as a photographic memory, so he is able to recall everything that he reads and he is also able to recall word for word most things that people tell him. This puts him in a unique situation for all of his classes. He reads the text books and listens to the professors in class so he knows the material very well. He often gets perfect marks on exams, however, homework is another matter altogether. Liam feels that the main purpose of homework is to reinforce what they learn in classes so he generally doesn’t put much effort into it. He usually completes it, but he generally doesn’t care about how well done it is.
Like his Mum, Liam craves attention. He can be easy to talk to when he’s with just one or two people, but he tends not to like crowds and gets extremely shy in those situations. He doesn’t tend to defend himself or others, himself especially when people make derogatory comments about him. Even though it hurts, he tends to brush such comments off and ignores them the best he can. He does his best to always be optimistic and often pours much of his emotional expression into his drawings. Unlike most people his age, he has no idea what he wants to do with his life. He is drifting through his education, not really having any passions. He has never had to work at anything since most of the things he enjoys doing (music, quidditch, drawing, etc.) always came very easily to him. He is not a driven individual because he’s never had to be.

Liam was born in Shrewsbury, England to Ainsley and Catherine Carroway. Less than two years later, his brother, Dustin, was born. Liam grew up in a very close family. Family was the most important thing, to all of them and this mentality was the only thing he knew. Liam would do anything when it came to family. Everything was bright and happy until the day that his Uncle Ethan died. All that Liam knew was that a dark wizard came and then Uncle Ethan, fun carefree Uncle Ethan was gone.
It was a scary time. He watched his Aunt Luci and his two cousins, Dresden and Krystal try to move on with their lives. Aunt Luci spent much time away on business so Dresden became like another little brother, while Krystal became the sister he never wanted. He didn't want to admit it, but he liked having his two cousins around all of the time. Krystal taught him about the muggle world or at least told him fascinating stories about the strangest devices, like there was this one time she showed him a little hand held device that she said was a phone, but it could not only make calls, but organize her life and send electronic owls to her friends.
The summer after he turned eleven, Liam's Hogwarts letter arrived. His was the first in the family since Krystal was the only one that was older than him and she was a muggle so it didn't really count. He left his famly for the first time and was sorted into a new family upon his arrival. Though, he quickly learned that he wasn't like everyone else. He could remember everything he read and heard so the classes were all easy for him while he saw his fellow students struggling to learn the information. He was immediately labelled a social outcast, a label that still haunts him to this day, even as a sixth year student. Though, he is constantly searching to find a place where he fits in, a place where he can be himself without judgment.[/ul]
