“It wasn’t always good and bad you know. There was a time when not everything was so black and white back. The lines were muddled and it was up to them, those leading in their youth, to decide what to do with the choice that had started to become all the more clear in the years leading up to war...”Messirs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs

An Obsolete Existence
In a time before the Boy Who Lived, the world faced struggles that would shape the very essence of the Wizarding World. There were those who lived and died to protect something bigger than themselves and it all started with a choice. The only problem is who can say what choice people will make in their hour of need.
"Terror everywhere...panic...confusion...that's how it used to be.”
It is September, 1977, and the Maruaders are going into their seventh and last year at Hogwarts. Much has changed in the last few years and it does not have to do with their schooling. Much is on the move. The Ministry is trying to cover up a rebellion that only continues to gain steam. To make matters worse there have been rumours spreading about a formidable power rising in the shadows. Underneath the surface the Wizarding World is preparing for Revolution. This rumoured power was to be something no one had ever seen. But what is a power without its followers? As Voldemort continues to gain power in the outskirts of England, his presence is starting to be felt in the core of the nation’s future; Hogwarts.
"Imagine that Voldemort's powerful now. You don't know who his supporters are, you don't know who's working for him and who isn't; you know he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able to stop themselves.”
If the rumours are true and Voldemort is gaining strength through the upper echelons of society it is only a matter of time before he has enough momentum to overpower those few forces who stand against him. But not everyone can lead. After all, every good leader needs an obedient army to follow them.
”You're scared for yourself, and your family, and your friends. Every week, news comes of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing...the Ministry of Magic's in disarray, they don't know what to do, they're trying to keep everything hidden from the Muggles, but meanwhile, Muggles are dying too. “

It is time for the students of Hogwarts to take sides. But how are they to do so when for so long the lines have been blurred? There is evil around every corner and some don’t know who to turn to. In times like these no one can ever really know what side they are really on until they are faced with life or death. Is it true that everyone has a bit of evil lying deep within them? Who relies on that evil and what will happen if they do? Will they stick with their houses? Find a new alliance that offers a better position? Do with their parents tell them? Or make their own destiny in the wake of what is to be a war to end all wars.
"Well times like that bring out the best in some people and the worst in others. Crouch's principles might've been good in the beginning--I wouldn't know. He rose quickly through the ministry, and he started ordering some very harsh measures against Voldemort's supporters.”
Dumbledore knows the war against the Wizarding World as they know it is eminent. The only thing left up in the air is when. Who will stand up and fight against it? Who will fight for it? And who will try to hold onto those blurred lines that allowed a level of cordial acceptance within society? How did we get to where we headed? What course of events pushed the way in which the Wizarding World would forever be defined by?
“HE had his supports, mind you--plenty of people thought he was going about things the right way, and there were a lot of witches and wizards clamoring for him to take over as Minister of Magic."
War is coming, that much is certain. It is time to pick a side.
Are we the subjects of a predetermined fate or are we part of an existence that will prove to be our own undoing?
Either war is obsolete, or men are.

Either war is obsolete, or men are.
Time to decide.
