Brandon looked up at the sky and realized that the day was almost over. There only seemed to be a couple of hours of sunlight left and he had too much energy to just waste it inside. He decided a swim in the lake might be a good idea. He threw on a grey sweater and his swim trunks and started making his way downstairs and to the lake. He noticed that there were more people going up the stairs to the dormitories rather than going down the stairs and he figured that it must've been due to the time and it getting kind of late. Even though it was only about 7, there was still some sunlight left that, clearly, people didn't care to take advantage of.
He threw his towel over one of his shoulders and slipped outside and started his walk to the lake. The cool breeze hit his face. The weather wasn't too cool and wasn't too warm so it made for a good day to take a dip in the lake. Cliques of girls giggled as he walked by and groups of guys he noticed were playing some games outside. Seems that it wasn't only him that wanted to spend some more time in the great outdoors. He hoped that the lake wouldn't be that crowded though. He hated when the water was filled with people and there wasn't enough room for him to do what he went there to do. He just found it awkward when there were many people there trying to share the same part of the lake.
He got there and to his excitement the site was vacant. He admitted it was a bit creepy when there was no one there but he'd take it over everyone being there. He tossed his towel on the ground and took off his shirt. He stood there looking at the glistening water as small waves were washing up onto shore. He slowly walked to the shoreline and put his feet in the water. He felt as the waves moved up and greeted his feet with their coolness. With his arms crossed he looked out to the beyond. One day he wanted to travel across this lake to see what lies beyond. Not many people he knew had made it very far without turning back and he didn't blame them. There were very dangerous creatures in these waters and he knew all too well that if you weren't careful, the consequences could be terrible. That's why he was feeling a little hesitant to go far today knowing that there was no one here. Just in case.
He ran into the water and dove in when he got a bit deeper. So free in the water he absolutely loved it. Though the water isn't the clearest, it still gave a really refreshing feeling when you enter into it. His head broke the surface and he ran his fingers through his hair to get some of the water off his face. He crouched there just treading in the shallow part. The sun would be setting soon over the lake. He loved watching it. It was the most relaxing thing to do after a long day. He looked at the sky and noticed that there were dark clouds that were not there before and he wondered if rain would be coming soon. If it was to rain he wouldn't be staying much longer, but he decided to give it a bit more time.
After a couple more minutes had passed he walked out of the lake and grabbed his towel. He dried his head and face quickly and then threw it around his shoulders. He sat down on the ground staring out at the lake once again. His knees up and his arms on top just deep in thought. How could anyone pass up coming here, if only for a bit. It was just such a great place. He would probably even go back in the water again later but he wasn't sure just yet.
What was out there?
Such a bold question for a curious Ravenclaw student like Brandon.

It had been a day for nature. The cool scents of the crisp fresh air had beckoned Scarlett to join them as she had decided to spend the day exploring more of the outskirts of the Hogwarts grounds...
Being outside, smelling the flowers and feeling the breeze tossle her crimson hair took her back to happy times. Growing up in the countryside of the Irish seacoasts with her Mother's family. Those were happy times...
Everything had been planned, well as well a plan as Scarlett could manage since she wasn't always one for making plans to stick to. She had dressed in one of her favorite tunic tops tunic tops, the over sized gauze material which would flutter in the breeze. A blood red bikini top peeked out from the cleavage of the roomy shirt, a swim suit would be important if an unplanned, planned swim would arise of course...
She pulled on a favorite pair of frayed cutoff denim shorts, which displayed her long and slender ivory legs until her legs were cut short with a pair of the most comfortable suede boots she owned...
Scarlett had looked in the mirror, something was missing. She slipped on one of her many pairs of Peacock feather earrings and wrapped a suede rawhide head band around her forehead and smiled as she ran her fingers down through her crimson locks...
Much better! She had thought to herself as she grabbed a clothe knapsack and slung it over her back. She had packed a couple of snacks, her memoir notebook and some pencils and a sketchpad or two and had set off for what she thought would be a peaceful afternoon of enjoying everything Mother Nature had to offer...
When she had made her way to the Black Lake that afternoon, it seemed she hadn't been the only person who thought swimming would be a peaceful activity. There were throngs of students all over the shoreline and splashing about in the shallow ends of the dark waters...
Scarlett surveyed the scene and quickly decided against it. While she had no problems with people or crowds, she had hoped for a little bit more personal time with Mother Nature today...
It seemed like only an hour or two had passed as Scarlett made her way back out from the area surrounding the Forbidden Forrest. She had found some great spots to enjoy the sun, even in those depths of the woods. She had a few nature sketches that she was pretty proud of and even had an encounter with a young doe, who she pet named Rose...
It wasn't until she came out into a clearing that she realized that it was starting to get much later than she thought. She slung her bag over her shoulder and took off in a bit of a sprint, back towards the lake...
Scarlett started to survey the skies as she swiftly made her way through the trees and thought the sun was starting to set rather too quickly, even for the time of day that it was now. As she came out onto the shoreline of the lake, the winds started to pick up, blowing her red hair around her face as she stared out over the dark waters...
Her emerald eyes locked on the horizon as the skies seemed to start to turn hundreds of shades of gray instantly. Something didn't seem quite right about nature in that moment but for some reason Scarlett's gaze finally broke from the gray palette of the sky as she noticed another form of gray sitting on the shoreline of the lake...
Someone else was there, with their back to her she knew it was a male, but really had no clue in that instant who it was or why they were sitting there when the sky was twisting and turning like it was...
A small faint rumble started to echo through the far off horizon as the wind started to pick up a bit more. "Hey! Hey...I think it's going to storm or something!" she waved her one arm in the air as she took a few steps from the line of trees, trying to get the attention of the boy...
"Hey! Watch out!!" she hollered at him, as the waves on the lake started to pick up and she knew that Mother Nature was about to have a severe attitude adjustement...

About fifteen minutes had quickly passed by in a time that felt like only a couple. Man, he really does get lost in his thoughts too often. He had always been told that but he never really believed them until now. He zoned back into reality and realized that the clouds had begun to get all the more darker, now hiding the sun from sight. Guess he wouldn't be watching the sunset tonight. Ya it sounded a little bit lame of him but to each his own right?
He thought he heard a voice call out from behind him but he didn't bother to look. The sound of the waves getting a bit bigger had flushed out most of the sound. He did manage to hear the second cry, "Hey! Watch out!!"
[/color] He looked back to see who it was and didn't recognize the voices' owner. She had gorgeous crimson hair that was now flailing wildly in the wind which had suddenly picked up. She was a very attractive student though he had not seen her around at all. His attention to her was broken by a wave that had crashed into his leg. Between the waves getting bigger, the clouds getting darker, and the wind picking up, he knew that a storm was starting. His quickly patted the sand off his butt, grabbed his shirt, threw it on and then started to run towards the girl. He knew that they were in no danger yet, but he knew how fast storms could pick up in intensity and any smart person would know it was time to leave. BOOM A loud boom of thunder startled him to the point where he almost lost his footing. That was embarrassing as he was running towards the girl that he had now only met. The wind was now tossing the sand around a bit and he could feel the soft touch of rain start to come down. This storm was speeding up and he knew that it was time to leave. He reached the girl, "Hey! We should get going don't you think?" He didn't realize how loud the waves, wind, and thunder was until this moment when he had to literally scream at her for her to be able to hear her. "Come on, let's get out of here"BOOM A flash of lightening and another boom shot out of the sky. The wind picked up even more though the rain wasn't that bad just yet. It was weird that it was only spitting and yet there was this much still going on. He pointed to the school, "Seems really far given the conditions, doesn't it" he yelled over the storm. The lake seemed miles away under these circumstances when normally it would only be about a ten minute walk, "We should get moving" he yelled again and with that started to walk towards the school battling the wind and hoping that the rain would hold off until they reached their destination Tag: Scarlett Note: Something is telling me that they won't make it before the storm picks up a bit more haha [/blockquote][/blockquote]
