RP SAMPLE:
Liberty was curled up in the window seat in her dormitory. She was one of the many people who loved to stare out at the night sky from their tower, and her mind was often very far when she was like this. It was about midnight, and mostly everyone seemed to already be sleeping, and of course she was the late bird. Her friends often told her that they thought she might have a drop of vampire blood in her or something, as she was always rather nocturnal. She loved the night, the later the better, and hated afternoons when the place tended to be more hot. These moments where she just sat, in the complete peace and quiet of the night with a cool wind blowing over her was really one that she loved.
A slight moment on the grounds distracted her train of thought, and she raised up slightly looking down near the forbidden forest. She was slightly disappointed to see that it just looked like someone's pet cat probably roaming the grounds for something to eat. She had always secretly desired to see something interesting, something that would lead to an adventure of some sort. But maybe those things only happened in books.. this was reality, after all. And reality didn't seem half as fun as things she'd read in books. Or maybe it was just her.
A light sigh escaped her lips, and she sat up, stretching out on the window seat. There was no way she was going to fall asleep as yet, despite it being the middle of the night. Deciding to go down and see if anyone else was awake still, she slid off of the window seat and tip-toed past the beds of the other girls in her year, hoping not to wake them up. She opened the door slightly, and it made a slight creaking noise as a dim light vaguely invaded the darkness of the room, before it closed silently behind her and she went down the staircase to the common room.
The Ravenclaw Common Room was one of the places that she felt most comfortable, probably as she had spent a great deal of the past four (and now entering her fifth) years of her life here, that was pretty understandable. Though the entrance was a bit frustrating sometimes, as just earlier today she had been in a rush and couldn't answer the question to be let in, and so had to wait until someone who knew the answer came along. She loved all the blue and bronze, and it had a graceful, elegant beauty about it that she doubted the other houses, except maybe Slytherin, could accomplish with their colours. She opened the door, entering the common room and looking around to see if anyone would be there or if she was the only nocturnal bird who couldn't sleep.
