Though she'd never ever, admitted it to anyone (least of all her poor parents), Arianne did love to come back to school after vacation. The first reason for that was that it was where she felt like she belonged, and the other reason was that she didnt need to feel guilty about using magic in front of her father, and the last reason, but perhaps the most important one, was the access to the library, which she really did begin to miss in the long summer months. There always seemed like more to learn, and there were only so many books you could buy at Diagon Alley without stretching your parents pockets or having difficulty finding enough place to put them in your house.
So the first thing she did every term was to go to the library. She liked it, the silence, the smell of books, and the atmosphere it created especially when it was mostly empty like it generally was at the beginning of the term. She hated the library at the end of the term when it was filled with students cramming for exams and talking, at those times she preferred to study with her notes in her own room and not bother with the over-crowded library. The rest of the term, however, she was happy there. Even the librarian seemed to like her, because she ever mess up the books or talk or in general disturb the library.
Today, after going into the library, she'd decided to take out a few books so that she could prepare for her first few lessons of the year. After all, it did not hurt to be a little prepared for class and it was her OWL year, and she needed to do even better than she was already doing, especially in transfiguration and defense against dark arts. So, carrying a very heavy load of two transfiguration guides, a special DADA handbook, a charms text, and a few books on history and potions that she was borrowing just because she wanted to read them, she made her way out, and promptly got lost, because she was the kind of person who memorized maps of Hogwarts but still couldnt figure out the trick staircases.
Still, she figured, that she was somewhere near the entrance hall, and she did know how to go from there to her common room, so she walked into the entrance hall, walking a little quickly and a little out of breath because she was not the fittest of all people and damn, those books were really heavy. Perhaps she should have borrowed less, or perhaps brought a satchel to carry them in. She figured the satchel was a better idea. She walked into the common room, and was greeted with the extraordinary sight of a lot of books and papers strewn everywhere, and a young girl on her knees trying to get everything back.
She immediately placed her own borrowed books in a neat corner on one side, and started helping. Even though seeing the young girl in such a plight was enough reason, in general, for Arianne to help, the mess had just kicked it into a hyper drive. She couldnt bear things lying around (her roommates had gotten used to her putting even their things in place) and she hated messes. She helped the girl till she was sure almost everything had been retrieved, and then neatly arranged everything in her arms so that she could hand it over to the girl.
"That's a lot of stuff to be carrying," she said with a smile as she handed over the books to the girl, who at second glance appeared only one or two years younger than her, and also not fully British, perhaps Indian.

geeky! Maybe she should try and get out of this situation as soon as possible? But the girl had stopped to help her and it would be rude to run off and she might offend her and... She gave an awkward laugh, "Um, yeah. Heading for the library. God, that sounds uncool. Um, yeah." Weak. That was weak. Rowena mentally shook herself, At least try and have a conversation, the girl just got on the floor for you! "You heading to the library too?" She asked, nodding towards the stack of book neatly waiting on the floor. She looked around for a moment to make sure no loose sheets had wandered away. This was a big problem with some of the older library books, they would tear (especially if subjected to a big fall like this one) and often the page that would disappear would be the most important page in the whole book (or so it seemed). That had been the cause of a pretty nasty accident for Arianne when she'd been at the end of her second year, and as a result, this was something the normally unobservant girl did look into pretty carefully. She would have hated for something like that to happen to sweet looking girl in front of her. She seemed intelligent too, because Arianne had glanced at some of the books and they were above the average 3rd form reading material.
Once she had assured herself that everything was as it should be, she carefully picked up her own books, which formed a pile that reached up till her chin, but had stayed in the pile that she put them in, and she carefully blew away a speck of dust from the very top of the pile. She did like stuff to be clean, and library books, probably due to the mishandling by students and years of lying around in shelves and remaining mostly un-borrowed and neglected, did not always pass her requirements was cleanliness.
"Oh, erm, thanks. You didn't ha- thanks..."
She smiled at the girl, who clearly seemed nervous to be talking to her, trying to reassure her. Arianne had been too long on the other side, the one trying to look confident and self-assured (especially with older people) and she sympathised with the young girl. "Well, I wouldnt have left you to just flounder around," she said, kindly, and looked closer at the girl, who was dressed in a kind of dress that Arianne had never worn (she stuck to simple skirts or jeans and blouses, and only the school uniform wherever possible and appropriate) but she rather liked it. It was bright, and cheerful, and the girl looked quite pretty in it.
"Um, yeah. Heading for the library. God, that sounds uncool. Um, yeah."
"Sound uncool? Not at all," she said, indicating the pile of books in her hand. "Well, maybe to some people. But I think the library is the first thing I visit every year in Hogwarts since my second year." The first year, of course, had been the sorting. Unlike a lot of her classmates she hadnt been particularly worried. She was neither particularly brave nor ambitious, and she had pretty much known she would be in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. She smiled as the girl asked her if she was going to the library. "No, I just borrowed all these books and now I'm going over to my common room in order to put them all in my room." Her smile widened slightly as she said, "But its always nice to meet a fellow book lover. Hi, I'm Arianne. I'm a fifth year, ravenclaw." In Hogwarts, your house did become your identity of sorts. Not that she minded.

Sometimes I wonder how you stay so sadWHEN YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL.So tell me why we're talkin' WHEN WE DANCE SO GOOD.
she reasoned with herself. "I wouldn't have let you just flounder around" Rowena groaned inwardly. She'd been floundering oh lord, where was a hole in the ground to swallow you up when you most needed one?! Even so, this clean-crazy Ravenclaw seemed nice, helping Rowena out when she was floundering. If she hadn't been holding a pile of books which had already hit the floor one too many times, Rowena's palm would have been hitting her forehead right about now. "Sound uncool? Not at all. Well, maybe to some people. But I think the library is the first thing I visit every year in Hogwarts since my second year." If the girl's arms hadn't been stacked chin-high full of books, Rowena might have thought this girl was just humouring her. Or maybe taking the mickey. That happen to Row quite a lot. But a fellow library goer was always rare find when essays weren't sue and exams weren't looming. These were the people who truly loved books and the wonders they held. These were the people Rowena could respect. "No, I just borrowed all these books and now I'm going over to my common room in order to put them all in my room." A big smile spread across the girl's face "But its always nice to meet a fellow book lover. Hi, I'm Arianne. I'm a fifth year, ravenclaw." Rowena couldn't help but smile back, genuine but shy. "Book lovers do seem to be rare in a castle of wands and broomsticks" She joked lightly, "I'm Rowena. I probably should have mentioned that earlier.... I'm, um, I'm in Hufflepuff. Only third year though. Thanks for helping with the books. Again. Um..." Her voice trailed away into a thin nothingness. Rowena loved her house, she loved her friends in her house, she loved the common room but being a Hufflepuff sometimes felt like coming in last place. They weren't particularly ambitious, brave or clever. They were just the left-overs. The 'oh, well they are very nice people though". Sometimes that sucked. She looked at the young girl, who seemed a little embarrassed, which wasn't so surprising because she had been caught in a pretty messy situation. Arianne was not the kind of person who laughed at people's humiliating situations, part of the reason of which was that she'd been enough of her own, and another reason was just that she was not that kind of person and would never be. Arianne was nice, and she liked to be nice, even if that meant that some people thought she was too much of a goody-two-shoes and others tried to take advantage of her. "Oh, please don't worry," she therefore said to the girl, trying to be reassuring. "This could've happened to just about any body." It was true enough, with that many books just about anybody could've tripped. She noticed again that the books in her hands seemed to be getting heavier, and hoped she wouldn't have a similar incident. "Book lovers do seem to be rare in a castle of wands and broomsticks" She joked lightly, "I'm Rowena. I probably should have mentioned that earlier.... I'm, um, I'm in Hufflepuff. Only third year though. Thanks for helping with the books. Again. Um..."
"Oh, that's true. People just come into the library when exams are on." Arianne disliked such people intensely, they messed up the library which didnt quite look the same for about a week after the exams, when they were all too busy relaxing by the lake anyway. "Well, its nice to meet you Rowena. You have a really pretty name." She had apparently been named after the founder of Arianne's house, a woman who she respected very much. Reading about Rowena Ravenclaw was one of the first things Arianne had done on entering the school. She was a fascinating person, and she'd been glad to be in Ravenclaw (or even gladder than before) after she'd read all that.
She glanced again at the dress patterned with the flowers, and was even more curious. How come all the dresses she'd ever seen were formal dresses, more appropriate for evening dances than for wearing casually? She decided to ask the girl, if the dress wasnt too expensive she could buy one or two, they seemed comfortable too in the heat. "Can I ask you a question, if you wouldnt mind? What kind of dress is that and where can I get one?" She smiled. "I probably sound completely fashion-inept, which I am."

Sometimes I wonder how you stay so sadWHEN YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL.So tell me why we're talkin' WHEN WE DANCE SO GOOD.
Rowena nodded enthusiastically at that, possibly not trusting the word which would fall from her mouth any more. It was so true. Those students always took up so much room, made so much noise and then looked deeply offended when someone told them to be quiet! Rowena usually avoided the library around that time of year; she couldn't handle the constant tennis match of talking and 'shh'ing. "Well, its nice to meet you Rowena. You have a really pretty name." "Oh, um, thanks. My Dad's Irish and they were both Ravenclaws so it was inevitable really! But, um, thank you. Your name is nice too. I don't think I've ever met anyone called Arianne before." She wondered where the girls name had come from or what it meant but didn't want to pry. Arianne seemed really nice and Row didn't want to offend her or seem rude when she might have just found a new friend. She noticed the Ravenclaw look her up and down. Or at least look her up, round all the books, and down. Rowena suddenly became conscious of her appearance - not a regular occurrence. She should be in school uniform really, after all term had started. She'd only been popping tot he library though and hadn't thought to put her own robes on yet. The thought of them sitting in her trunk where her Father had so neatly enchanted them was chilling. The dress wasn't even one of her better ones. She liked it and all but. "Can I ask you a question, if you wouldnt mind? What kind of dress is that and where can I get one?" She smiled. "I probably sound completely fashion-inept, which I am." Well, that threw her off. She wouldn't dream of asking someone she didn't know something like that, so it would be fair to say she wasn't expecting anyone to ask her. Mind you, she wouldn't ever start a conversation with someone she didn't know, period. "Oh, um, it's just a dress from a muggle shop. My Mum was a muggle before she came here so she still wears muggle clothes mostly, when she's not at work that is. I guess you grew up in an all magical family?" Rowena gave a small smile. Her Father came from a magical linage and wore robes all the time. He found it a bit ridiculous that his wife still wore muggle clothing and couldn't believe her when she said they were comfortable. But Rowena took after her mother and preferred to dress as a muggle whenever she could, robe just weren't flattering to her body at all and Row was proud of her body. "I live in London so getting muggle clothes is easy enough if you know where to look and blend in well enough!" Taking her Father shopping once had been interesting. Mrs. Selby had got some money out of a cash machine and been in four different shops by the time he'd finished studying the machine trying to work out how it functioned. "Oh, um, thanks. My Dad's Irish and they were both Ravenclaws so it was inevitable really! But, um, thank you. Your name is nice too. I don't think I've ever met anyone called Arianne before."
"Both your parents are Ravenclaws? That's pretty cool. So, did you, or did they, feel disappointed that you werent or was it all cool?" Arianne did not want to bring up touchy issues, she just didnt have enough insight to realize that what she was talking about might potentially be a touchy issue. As far as she was concerned, all houses were almost equal anyway. She knew that she herself wouldnt have minded being any of the houses, even though she did like Ravenclaw and had recognized after a lot of soul-searching that bravery and ambition, in particular, were not her best qualities. She was somewhat loyal, and a pretty good worker, so hufflepuff was still an option, but that was it.
"Oh, my name?" she said, blushing slightly. "Well, I was named by my grandmother and she's a big fan of really old romance novels. I have actually read the book my name was from and its...not good. Not good at all." It was actually really trashy as a book. Arianne had loved her name, right until that day. It had taken her weeks to recover from the shock (her grandmother had been kind enough to gift her that book as a christmas present a few years ago) and even longer to finally accept that it was her name, that no one she knew would ever read the book (it had been summarily hidden in her room at home) and that she was free to make her own identity of that name rather than that of the ditzy, hopelessly-in-love heroine she was named after.
"Oh, um, it's just a dress from a muggle shop. My Mum was a muggle before she came here so she still wears muggle clothes mostly, when she's not at work that is. I guess you grew up in an all magical family?"
"Oh, well sort of," she said after a moment's pause. "My father is a muggle but we mostly live like a normal magical family, so we rarely do go out shopping for women's clothing in muggle stores. But next time I'm out for shopping or something I'll look for such a dress." She paused. "Maybe this is sounding wrong. I dont actually have a problem with wearing muggle clothing, I wear it sometimes when we have to move around in muggle circles, but I guess I dont know that much about any type of clothing, muggle or magical." Her mother had never really liked dressing up, preferring pants and shirts and clothes one could work outdoors in, and as a result she had never developed much sense of clothing.

Sometimes I wonder how you stay so sadWHEN YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL.So tell me why we're talkin' WHEN WE DANCE SO GOOD.
Rowena wasn't surprised by this question, she got asked it all the time. Not surprising really, especially considering her name. "No, not at all. My brother was a Gryffindor so I guess their intelligence wasn't inherited by either of us!" Well, that wasn't strictly true. Her brother had aced his NEWTs and been offered a job by Gringotts and Rowena was in the top half of every class she took, one of the top few in the wand-work classes. But she'd never been one to blow her own trumpet. "Besides, if I'd been put in Ravenclaw it could have been a bit weird to be named after the founder of my own house. A lot to live up to! Although, really I'm just glad my parents weren't both in Hufflepuff; I'm not sure I could have stood to be called Helga!" She gave a little giggle, that had always been a bit of a family joke. "Oh, my name?" Arianne said, blushing slightly. "Well, I was named by my grandmother and she's a big fan of really old romance novels. I have actually read the book my name was from and its...not good. Not good at all." Rowena giggled again "Well, I'll make sure not to read it! I'm sure you do the name more justice than it deserves." She said with a small smile. The Hufflepuff was a fan of old romance books but had never heard of an Arianne so it must have been an obscure book, probably because of it's apparent dreadful read. Although, she had to admit, she was intrigued. Her name was so obvious, especially while she was at school, Rowena plus Hogwarts equals Ravenclaw. Obvious. Obscure old romance novels were intriguing. "Oh, well sort of. My father is a muggle but we mostly live like a normal magical family, so we rarely do go out shopping for women's clothing in muggle stores. But next time I'm out for shopping or something I'll look for such a dress. Maybe this is sounding wrong. I dont actually have a problem with wearing muggle clothing, I wear it sometimes when we have to move around in muggle circles, but I guess I dont know that much about any type of clothing, muggle or magical." Rowena gave a small shrug "I guess I just get a bit bored of robes. I find there's only so many styles you can have before you've seen it before while muggle clothes are so varied. Plus because robes are our uniform and my parents have to wear robes to work I guess I subconsciously equate them with working! Not that working is a bad thing! It's just nice to relax. Not that you can't relax in robes or anything... "Great! She'd probably insulted Arianne now. Just when she was getting comfortable in a conversation with a stranger she went and insulted them. Foot-in-mouth syndrome. She really had to get that fixed. Maybe the nurse had a potion? Maybe she could write off to her Mum for one? Maybe that hole in the ground to swallow her up could appear right about now? Yeah, maybe not. Maybe her arms were going to drop off under the weight of these books? That would be a good excuse to run away, at least. "No, not at all. My brother was a Gryffindor so I guess their intelligence wasn't inherited by either of us!"
"Nah its doesnt work that way. You could inherit the intelligence and still end up in a different house because of what your predominant trait is," she said with a smile. "Besides, you seem...pretty intelligent. As far as I can judge from all those books you're carrying, at least." She liked people like that, the few people in Hogwarts who actually read textbooks that werent prescribed by the school and who put a little extra work into school, even before they were forced to thanks to exams like the OWLS and the NEWTS. Such people often did better anyway, because they'd got a good solid base and they were used to working that way, and more importantly they learned a lot more because they actually wanted to learn and werent just cramming for some exam or the other all the time.
"Besides, if I'd been put in Ravenclaw it could have been a bit weird to be named after the founder of my own house. A lot to live up to! Although, really I'm just glad my parents weren't both in Hufflepuff; I'm not sure I could have stood to be called Helga!"
"Oh yes, that's true," she agreed with a smile. "It is definitely really weird to be named after the founder of your house. Or any house actually, because it just puts so many expectations on you. I would hate to be named after anyone famous, because it would just mean you were trying so hard to make your identity seperate from their's that there'd be no time to do what you actually want to. What do you think?" Arianne had been glad her parents hadnt named her after anyone they knew, or worst of all, themselves. She had enough to live upto without being known as Jenna Lane the Second, and a trashy romance heroine was a lot better person to be named after than even Hermione Granger (who was Arianne's secret idol).
"Well, I'll make sure not to read it! I'm sure you do the name more justice than it deserves."
"Oh please dont, its a really, really bad book and the heroine is really embaressing. Anyone in the whole world could have done this particular name justice. I dont even know what that author was thinking." In general, Arianne liked muggle books, but she did not read much magical or muggle fiction (and especially not romance) because her imagination was not her strongest part and none of those things struck her as true. Arianne much preferred hard facts, things that could be checked and confirmed and which did not depend on wondering and imagining and dreaming about them to make them believable. Besides, who had the time to read all that?
"I guess I just get a bit bored of robes. "
"Oh well, thats true," she agreed. "Muggles do have a lot more choice. Only sometimes muggle clothing can be really uncomfortable too. Its all a matter of what you're used to, I guess." For someone who'd been wearing robes since she was about 7, except when daddy's friends came over for dinner or they had to go to a party or something, robes had become the preferred form of wearing, though even Arianne did like a change once in a while. "However, I guess school has started so you might have to change into robes soon," she said with a smile to the 3rd grader. Her tone was mild, she was not trying to scold her or anything, just try so she wouldnt get into trouble with anyone else.

Sometimes I wonder how you stay so sadWHEN YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL.So tell me why we're talkin' WHEN WE DANCE SO GOOD.
Arianne said, smiling. "Besides, you seem...pretty intelligent. As far as I can judge from all those books you're carrying, at least." Rowena felt the blush creeping up her cheeks again, her neck flushed hot. As a shy girl, she was frequently grateful for her skin colour and it's ability to hide her embarrassment. And embarrassment was her only response although Arianne's words had a certain truth to them though, the Sorting Hat had considered putting her in Ravenclaw, two years ago. She remembered like it was yesterday, sitting on the three-legged stool, the entire school watching her. Her name was late in the alphabet so she remained at the front of the hall with only a few of her future class mates. The stool was hard and uncomfortable and she had gripped the sides until her knuckles had gone white. Godric Gryffindor's ragged old hat sat over her eyes and a voice whispered in her ear "Hmm. Yes, naturally intelligent, eager to learn too. But you're a quiet one. True though, to yourself and others. Yes, I think you'll do well there. You'll be a HUFFLEPUFF!" it had anounced her house to the hall and feeling elated, relieved and terrified all at the same time, she had replaced the hat and run to the table of yellow and black. "It is definitely really weird to be named after the founder of your house. Or any house actually, because it just puts so many expectations on you. I would hate to be named after anyone famous, because it would just mean you were trying so hard to make your identity seperate from their's that there'd be no time to do what you actually want to. What do you think?" Rowena thought about it for a second. "Um, actually, what with not being in Ravenclaw, not too many people make the connection. Not straight away anyway. They're usually too busy being amazed at how quiet and shy I am to realise who my name reminds them of! And then obviously, um, she was the the founder of a school and one of the greatest witches who ever lived and I'm just a quiet Hufflepuff girl just trying to get by. So most people aren't expecting me to live up to her name at all. I think if I was named after someone like my Mother, there would be more pressure to live up to that greatness because it's attainable. Um, if you see what I mean?" Rowena shuffled her feet nervously. That had been a long speech, by her standards. Mostly she didn't talk more than two sentences at a time, not even to her closest friends. Usually too worried that if she talked for a long time, there was more time to upset or insult someone. But this Ravenclaw girl was so easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested. Hardly anyone was interested in a shy, third year girl in the quietest of the four houses, who's greatest interests were art and learning. The few Rowena could find who did seem to show interest, she knew she should hold onto, but her fear that they wouldn't want to be her friend, that she wasn't interesting enough, overwhelmed her. "Oh please don't, its a really, really bad book and the heroine is really embarrassing... Only sometimes muggle clothing can be really uncomfortable too. Its all a matter of what you're used to, I guess. However, I guess school has started so you might have to change into robes soon." Rowena giggled lightly "I absolutely promise never to read it! My Father is a from an all-magical family so whenever we head over to Ireland to visit, we all dress up in robes so I guess I just associate them with dressing up and standing on ceremony. I know I should be in them already but it seemed such a waste of sunshine to put on full-length robes! Maybe I should go get changed now? I was going to head to the library but I guess the chances of running into a teacher are high and I really don't want to loose any house points before lessons have even started!" Excellent, she had given Arianne a chance to escape if she wanted. Or a chance to get back to what she was doing. With a pile of books like that, Row guessed she was on the way to some heavy studying. Somewhat similar to herself. Although the Ravenclaw common room was probably full of people studying hard, unlike the Hufflepuff common room which was full of friends catching up on their summers. Or maybe that was a bit stereotypical. Either way Rowena knew the library was guaranteed to be quieter than the cosy armchairs in front of the fireplace or the dorm she shared with four other girls. Um, if you see what I mean?"
"They dont make the connection?" she said, sounding somewhat surprised, which she was for a moment because she couldnt connect a name like 'Rowena' with anything other than Ravenclaw. "Ah well, its true, some people in this school dont even know the first names of the founders, and barely know the last names because they're the names of the houses. A shame, really." Arianne had no liking for people such as this, considering how different they were from her, but she was willing to accept them as who they were even though she didnt have to like it very much. Still, she thought Hogwarts should have compulsory (or at least optional) lessons just on the history of Hogwarts. Everyone might not have the same interest, but Arianne would have loved to attend that.
She laughed at Rowena's next statement, somehow her humility touched her and she found it sweet. "Well, I wouldnt start underestimating yourself so soon if I were you." Except that she had, of course, been doing that all her life, and causing additional strain on herself because she did that. However, she felt like there was nothing wrong with advising the little hufflepuff to do something that she did not do herself, mostly because she did not apply it to herself, and mostly because she truly wanted to help the other girl and secondly because she didnt even think of applying it to herself. She nodded in response to the girl's second statement. "Well, yes. There is already too much 'you must live up to your parents' thing and I shudder to think of how it would be to be named after them. Probably multiplied into 10 if they're famous."
"I absolutely promise never to read it! I was going to head to the library but I guess the chances of running into a teacher are high and I really don't want to loose any house points before lessons have even started!"
She laughed along with the girl. "Well, its the opposite for me," she said to Rowena in response to her next statement. "Generally, we wear muggle wear only when my father's business associates or someone like that comes to visit, and thus I always think of them as horridly formal. Also, I havent seen that much non-formal muggle wear that wasnt also something too casual like jeans and a t-shirt, so I'm glad I might be able to find something a little bit different." She didnt know if she'd ever get the chance to shop for muggle clothes now that school had started, probably not till the next summer break when she'd go back home. However, she would keep that in mind or write that somewhere for the next time.
She frowned at the next statement, because she didnt really want to tell the young girl she had to put on her robes, but she knew it was her duty as a prefect and that she might get caught. "Well, I would recommend it. I dont think you'd lose points for it unless someone really strict came alone, but I did see the potions professor somewhere on the way, I think." It was pretty much not news to the students that the potions teacher really was very stern, and Arianne found it as tough to deal with as any other person, though her aim here was to genuinely not badmouth her teacher but rather to make sure that Rowena didnt get into trouble. "I'd say you should probably just take a quick trip to the common room to change into robes and then head over to the library, I guess that's your choice though. I'm just giving you a recommendation. I guess it depends on how far your common room is."
She smiled, realizing that she had no idea where the hufflepuff common room was. It somehow comforted her that there was a mystery left to solve at Hogwarts (though she was more than aware that there were many such mysteries). Where the other common rooms was pretty much a closely guarded secret - she doubted many people from the other houses knew where it was, or the odd way in which the password for their house was decided. She suddenly realized that the pile of books in her hands was quite heavy. She had enjoyed the conversation but really did need to either put these on the side or in her room, but she figured the younger girl would have to go to chance anyway, so she didnt say anything, or make a move, just then.

Sometimes I wonder how you stay so sadWHEN YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL.So tell me why we're talkin' WHEN WE DANCE SO GOOD.
Rowena gave a half-smile. She doubted someone as clever and comfortable in herself as Arianne seemed to be could ever underestimate herself. Rowena imagined her as the sort of person who, no matter what she aimed for, she would get it. Although the Hufflepuff did have a tendency to put herself down by placing others on a pedestal. Normally though, people impressed her and lived up to her expectations. Rowena couldn't imagine her family living in wizarding robes all the time, particularly her Mother. Mrs Selby left for St Mungo's every day dressed in her healers robes but always came home ready-changed and stayed in muggle clothes for the rest of the evening. Her brother had to wear robes to work most of the time too, so usually took any chance he got to relax in his muggle attire. "Well, I would recommend it. I dont think you'd lose points for it unless someone really strict came alone, but I did see the potions professor somewhere on the way, I think."
Arianne pause momentarilly, "I'd say you should probably just take a quick trip to the common room to change into robes and then head over to the library, I guess that's your choice though. I'm just giving you a recommendation. I guess it depends on how far your common room is." Rowena bit her lip and glanced at the stone floor. The potions masters was notoriously strict and she certainly didn't want to loose any house points her fellow Hufflepuffs may have already earned. Besides, glancing at her watch, this conversation had taken up almost all the time she was hoping to be in the Library and it wasn't long before she had a Transfiguration class followed by her first ever Ancient Runes lesson. "Oh, Yeah, you're right. I better get going really. Don't want to miss the first lesson of term! Thank you, again, for the help, you know, with the books and stuff." Rowena nodded towards the stack of books in her arms, referring back to how the girls had met only minutes before. "Um, hopefully see you around. I'm gunna go change into my robes!" Rowena said as she turned to go. "Thanks again!" She called over her shoulder, as she disappeared through a doorway towards her common room.
