general info
Do I really need to explain what 'Muggle Studies' entails? I think you're all brighter than that, really. Don't sign up if you don't plan on putting full effort into your studies, please! I imagine we'll be covering subjects at a rather fast pace, because "Muggle Studies" is somewhat vague, wouldn't you agree?
Expect focus on culture, technology and history. Magic will be used at a minimum. In class writing will be done by hand, NOT with magical help. Please keep that in mind; I will enforce this rule strictly. You're here to learn about the lifestyles and social norms of Muggles therefore magic is an ill-fitting accessory to class.

I expect you at class on time. I plan to treat you like adults for the most part, so if you fail to respect the clear boundaries of class times, I will adjust my own policy accordingly. I like to think I'm accommodating to emergencies and exceptions, so if you have a legitimate excuse for tardiness I would take that into account. Please, though, don't make the tardy policy an issue.
I will reward house points at my own discretion for particularly exceptional work in class or through the demonstration of mastery in a subject over time. Honestly, it depends. Like I said, at my discretion.

The classes will be split up in this fashion:Sign Up Form

Additionally, students will compare and contrast the religious, philosophical and sociological ideals of Muggle societies and cultures. Minimum magic will be used.
Year 7::Muggle History and Works::Advanced students will look at literature, art, science and religion of Muggle societies and examine how it impacts culture. Expansive world history will be examined, as well as the developments in Muggle society parralel to magical society. Students will learn to connect information learned from previous years to fully understand the relationship Muggle societies have between each other and, in a wider scope, the magical world. Students will be expected to use no magic whatsoever during this course.
