She walked quickly, stealthily to the study lounge with a group of other slytherins, from a mix of years. Somewhere, in the middle, they were joined by a few students - mostly ravenclaws, who said they'd told the other houses what was going. They walked inside. She pulled out her wand, and did a quick silencing charm to make sure that nothing got out to the ears of the teachers - and well, if a prefect came patrolling around they probably wouldn't be able to hear the party either, unless they got really close or tried to open the door. Diana grinned at the thought of the party. What had started off as a slytherin organized party had soon snowballed, making it crucial to move it to a neutral location like the study lounge instead of the common room.
Of course, this meant a lot, lot more risks. After all, slytherin prefects rarely gave a damn about whether or not there was a party on - not even a large scale one like this one. Not even the drinks. Most of the time, they were in on the secret. But here, what with other goody-goody prefects around and teachers to think about, the risks had been scaled up a good deal. Not that Diana minded. She actually enjoyed the thrill, and she'd probably even enjoy being called out in front of the whole school for being one of the prime movers of such a huge and outrageous celebration, even though it would get her into a lot of trouble. It was not like they could call her parents, after all. She didn't think her lawyer (who she paid to act as her legal guardian) would even bother if they called him.
It was going to be a blast. It had all the things that Diana loved - loads of alcohol, loud music, and a happening crowd. The alcohol was mostly butterbeer and firewhisky, some brewed and most bought, lying on one table in the corner covered with a deep purple sheet. They even had a large bowl of fruit punch made by the house elves, unspiked for the losers who wouldn't actually drink. On the table adjacent, a deep black sheet covered a table heaped with tiny snacks for people to enjoy - pumpkin cakes, tiny chocolate bottles filled with liquor, sugar quills and acid pops, a bunch of other sweets from hogsmeade, some tiny sandwiches, and a bunch of other stuff that the house-elves had given them, not suspecting the purpose. The sound in the background was that of a currently popular wizarding band, catchy enough to make Diana want to dance right then and there.
She waited, of course, for more people to arrive. They were starting to file in - one or two at a time, rarely groups so that there wouldn't be as much noise and they'd be less likely to be noticed. It was surprisingly hard to sneak around the school sometimes, especially late at night. Diana walked over to one of the counters, grabbed a butterbeer (the evening was just starting, after all) and started drinking it while she waited for more people to arrive. She caught a few glances from those already there - and realized that they were looking at her legs from beneath an extremely short but very cute and bubbly blue dress. She grinned, and then sat down, crossing one leg over the other to make it even more visible, glancing at her cute white pumps as she did so, and enjoying the attention very, very much.

Cassandra was brewing the last of the drinks for tonight. Her and Diana had gotten ready together so her outfit was definately a little more than what she was used to. It was a very pretty white dress that really hugged her body in the right places and the hem reached to about her mid thighs. There were straps to the dress but those had been reduced in size and where really there for decoration. Her hair had been curled so it had a nice wave to it and good body. Tonight she definatly felt like she belonged in the Slytherin house.
She brought the firewhiskey that had been freshly brewed in her dorm room and she placed it with the rest of the drinks. Then she took a look around the room, there was a few people that where there already. None where playing attention to her but that did not bother her right now. She poured herself some of the firewhiskeyand mixed it with some of the punch so it would go down a little smoother. It was her first time drinking and she did not want to do something she just absolutely regretted.
Cassandra began walking around for a bit just to see if she ran into anyone that she knew. But then she turned and walked over to Diana to at least say hi. She smiled when she approached her friend. "Hey there Diana. Pretty good party you have going on." She told her and smiled. After that she figured Diana would respond and then go off to talk to other people, it was what the host did afterall. Once that happened Cassandra would probably take a sit and see if anyone sat down to talk to her. It was probably going to be a fun evening though.

She threw down the rest of the butterbeer in one gulp, the warm fluid washing down her throat. Wow, that felt good. She was tempted to grab another drink when she saw Cassandra heading towards her, a drink in hand. Wow, but did she look different from normal. The sweatshirt was replaced by a hot white dress that was just a little short and extremely beautiful - forcing Diana to admire her handiwork, though Cassandra had been the one who'd done most of the actual wand work on the dress. (Diana had extracted a promise for help with some of her dresses too, though quite honestly she already had an exorbitantly expensive seamstress to go to, it was nice to have someone in emergencies.)
"Cassandra!" she said with a grin, getting up. "Did you taste the firewhisky yet? I heard someone raving about it. What are you doing with that punch?" She hadn't actually heard anyone raving, particularly, but she was sure it couldn't be too bad. In fact, she was craving it already. "Come, I'm gonna grab one." She placed her discarded bottle of butterbeer on one of the counters, and then walked over in long, confident strides, took a firewhisky from the place where she knew the brewed firewhisky was (why was cassandra drinking punch!) and then sipped it. And that was delicious. She grinned, and then joined Cassandra again.
"Yes, it is a pretty good party, isn't it?" she said in response to the original statement. Cassandra seemed to think she'd done everything for the party, not realizing she was only one of the many organizers, but Diana was more than happy to take all the credit. A current favorite wizarding song came up. Diana didn't think much of it, but she still grabbed Cassandra. "THAT is my favorite song! Come dance with me!" She had to shout above the row of the music at the girl in front of her. She didn't know if Cassandra liked dancing, but she didn't care. It was not like she had much company to choose from, there weren't too many people and she couldn't even find Astrid. She started dancing in the middle of the floor, the center of the attention, and hoped Cassandra would join her, though she'd forgotten her in a minute, lost in enjoying herself.

She hoped that this party was going to be fun and by the way Diana was talking about it she knew that it was going to be fantastic. Cassandra was very loyal to her good friends and would help them whenever needed so when Diana helped her look hot the least Cassandra could do was to help mend a few of her dresses. After all it was pretty easy to do and took but a few moments. She could do it probably in an afternoon when they were in the common room.
"oh thats great I am glad people like it." She said and smiled. Her drink was punch and firewhiskey since she was nervous about drinking it straignt for the first but, but there was a first time for everything. She went with Diana over to the table and got herself a firewhiskey. Once again she stood with Diana, since they were talking. Then she took her first sip of straight fire whiskey. It was great and only burned a little as it went down. Once in a while her father would let her taste the firewhiskey but when it was mixed in with something else. Cassandra was only 15 so drinking adult beverages was not her priorty. Maybe this year when she went home for christmas she would get to try some more. Part of her wondered if people would visit her this year during christmas like Diana and Astrid or Kenny. The house did get so quiet once everyone left after thier holiday dinner. But that was something to think about at another time.
Then she watched as Diana smiled and said it was her favorite song. "oh yeah. Its got a nice beat. I've never heard it before." She commented. Then she followed Diana onto the dance floor area. Honestly she had never really danced before but tonight was the night for new things. She kept her moves simple since she was not the worlds best dancer but she knew that everyons attention was probably on Diana. Quickly she glanced around to see if she knew anyone else in the room.

She took another sip of the firewhisky, and almost finished it right then and there. Damn, but she knew she was drinking too much, and that could be dangerous - but it was just too hard to stop herself. The firewhisky was great. She heard Cassandra say something about hoping that people would like it, a few words heard above the roar of the music. "Speak louder! I can't hear you with the music so loud," she said, though the next moment she wondered if she really wanted to even hear her talk at all. Diana was much more content just talking herself and not listening to a word anyone said. However, she did reply to Cassandra's statement about the firewhisky by raising her glass, taking another sip, and grinning. "People love it, darling! At least I sure do." Her own voice was loud and clear - but then, she'd always been loud and a little obnoxious.
She made an 'o' of suprise when Cassandra said that the song had a nice beat. Really? Cassandra had no taste in music, as little as she'd once had in clothes, but Diana was sure she could improve upon that. She was also a little surprised to hear that Cassandra had never heard if before, but then, the girl did not attend that many parties and the song was pretty recent. She responded while starting to dance on the floor in an extremely tantalizing, hot way that Diana was more than capable of doing. She'd picked it up from one of her grandfather's old girlfriends. Damn, but she had been amazing, and Diana was just passable, but she enjoyed it so much (and it showed so clearly) that she made it look good.
"Oh my god! Its like the latest favorite from The Nine-Tailed Witches! You haven't heard them?" she said, naming a popular wizard band that mostly produced mass music that was good for dancing. The dancing that she herself was doing was jiggling the silver chain (which was now turning multi-colored from the dance lights) around her neck and she straightened it out. She grinned when she saw Cassandra start dancing and grinned. "Not bad honey!" she called out, immediately drawing attention for a moment to Cassandra (who was okay, she thought) and then to herself. She continued her own dancing, enjoying the attention immensely, even if she'd had to share it with Cassandra.

He had just entered a party, one he really didn't want to be at, but his sister was going and he had a duty to watch her and her friends and make sure nothing bad happened. Astrid had helped him get dressed, in an outfit he would normally never wear, too much color, too many brand names, too posh, he would have preferred simple slacks and a dark sweater but Astrid had insisted on color and jewelery.
He pushed his hair back and tried to tune out the obnoxiously loud and repetitive music whilst he waited for his sister, she had sent him down early because he was bothering her while she tried to get dressed, telling her what made her look unacceptable or what was completely outrageous (which coincidentally was always her favorite thing to wear), and now he felt very out of place in the crowded study lounge without an irresponsible big sister to look after. He stood awkwardly in a corner, scanning the room for Astrid first, and potential threats (i.e. frisky boys, strong drinks etc) second and trying his hardest to blend into the wallpaper.
After ten minutes he began to wonder if Astrid was ever coming down, surely slipping on the least amount of clothes possible and outrageous amounts of make-up couldn't take that long, but he knew his sister, and knew that sometimes it could take hours for her to perfect a look, so he quietly walked around the room, spotting two of Astrid's friends, Diana and Cassandra, who seemed to be quite enjoying themselves, something that made him a bit nervous, Diana had a habit of not thinking ahead and attracting too much attention, that made her a pain to watch over, she always seemed to getting Astrid into situations that Leif had a hard time dealing with, but she was a good friend to his sister so he made sure nothing happened to her, even if she didn't really want him to.
He cleared his throat and walked over to the girls on the dance floor, noting the very faint smell of alcohol that rested over them, which to him seemed quite a bit unlike Cassandra, "Hello...girls, very nice, ah, party." he said a bit questioningly, he wasn't really a good judge of how fun a party was, social occasions were not his strong suit, and he had a hard time telling a good time and a boring party apart, and of course people were no help to him, reading the was harder than doing homework for him. He nervously twisted the snake around his index finger and stood awkwardly stiff on the moving dance floor.

She had been dancing and enjoying herself immensely with Cassandra, but getting annoyed by the fact that there weren't more people. Had some of them gotten caught outside the party hall or what? They'd called everyone from all the houses, but all she saw were slytherins - and not even all of them? Where was Astrid? It seemed to take her even longer than Diana to get ready, which was a farce, because Diana never thought she looked any better at the end of the whole thing. She had continued dancing uptil this point, lost in her own thoughts and in the music, until she spotted someone coming in her direction - someone she hadn't quite expected. Well, of course she'd known he'd be coming, but he tended to be mostly with Astrid and not bother with her too much.
He wasn't her favorite person in the whole world, to be honest, because when he did bother with her he seemed to think of her as another sister to be protected and defended from all the guys of the world. It made her somewhat uncomfortable, because she didn't think anyone acted that way without an agenda. For the longest time she'd thought he was just crushing on her (and sometimes she still did) but right now she wasn't sure. Which made her feel even worse. Because if that wasn't his nefarious purpose, then it had to be something even worse. So she avoided him when possible, and might have sent him away even just then, except that she was bored and NO ONE had come and she wanted someone for company who wasn't Cassandra.
"Leif!" she said, loudly, enthusiastically - she was so good at faking such things now he might even have thought she was delighted to see him. "It is a great party! Starting off a little slow, but I think it'll pick up once more people come in." She watched him stand around awkwardly - she was pretty sure already that he didn't like parties, but if she hadn't been his tone and his body language would have made that more than clear to her. He was a bad liar. It was a wonder he hadn't picked up more from his twin - or her best friend. She grinned at the thought. "Where is Astrid? She still isn't ready? What is she doing, making her clothes right now? When I left she was already mostly dressed." It was a wonder he'd come without her at all - after all, she didn't think he attended parties for any reason except for watching over Astrid.
Anyway, his fidgeting around was making her fidget, so she decided to take the situation in hand. "You have got to try this firewhisky!" she said, holding up her almost empty glass. She knew she might not be able to get him to dance (and the changed song was awful, anyway) but she might be able to get him to loosen up a bit if she got a drink in him. She looked at him, and reconsidered. Maybe more than one. "Cassandra's brewed it and its awesome!" she said, with a nod at Cassandra. She stopped a moment, and drained her glass in one sip. "Come, we'll grab a drink," she told him with a grin. She took his hand, intending to drag him across to the drinks table, and started walking.

He actually wondered where his sister was himself, but when he left Astrid had just ripped off the fourth or fifth outfit that she deemed not good enough when she kicked him out, so he couldn't answer Diana's question. He grimaced as she drained the last dregs of the alcohol in her cup, no one had told him they're was going to booze at the party, but when people like Diana planned a party you could never expect to know how it would all play out.
She seemed to be acting odd, but Leif wasn't sure, and when she grabbed his hand he flinched away, hoping that maybe he could just blend back into the wallpaper. But with his experience with theses girls he was sure he would be forced to do something he didn't want to do, other than wear the ridiculous clothes he had on of course.
The mention of firewhisky made him groan, they shouldn't be drinking, no one here was nearly old enough, and he especially shouldn't have a drop, it would severely affect his ability to protect the girls, and Cassandra had brewed it, he always thought she was the most well behaved, the one he wouldn't have to be worried about, but he was wrong apparently and now this night had become considerably more dangerous.
As Diana dragged him over to the drink table, he hoped that she would think better of it, she didn't want the person trying to help her to be intoxicated, what if she got into trouble, how would a drunk and stumbling Leif help her, he assured himself that that's how she would think. He panicked a little though, she didn't seem to be slowing down, and he knew that if she got him to the drinks she would somehow get him to have some, even if he really didn't want to, she (like most of Astrid's friends) was incredibly persuasive, and a bit of a master at lying.
"I-I-I don't uh, think I really, well I don't actually like to drink...alcohol, you know it severely hinders your uh...motor skills, and such." he managed to stutter out, but he doubted she would listen, she just wanted everyone to have a good time, even if it was against their will, his only hope was that something could distract her, maybe Astrid would arrive just in time, he thought.

The dancing in a way relaxed Cassandra. She just could feel the beat of the music and relaxed. It could have been the fact that she was drinking firewhiskey. It was her first time and she was trying to take it easy but the effects were wonderful. Now was probably a good time to get her cup aside so that she did not keep drinking it. So while dancing she walked over to the table and set the glass aside. Then she returned to Diana and kept smiling.
As she was talking to Diana, Cassandra looked over just in time to see Astrid's brother Leif approach the pair of them. He said hello and Cassandra nodded. "hi." She said to him since it was only polite. She did not know him all that well, but they were on like small talk terms since they had to be acquaintances because of Diana and Astrid. For a moment she wondered what he thought of her but that thought left when Diana dragged Leif away from her and over to the table. As she rocked her hips to the beat of the song she wondered what alot of people thought of her. Diana probably thought she was just some boring fifth year with the talent to make her firewhiskey and her skirts shorter. Cassandra was trying to be a good Slytherin and trying to do well in her classes all while keeping her blood status a secret. Part of her wanted to finish off a cup of firewhiskey and scream out her blood status. But she kept quiet and sat on the couch.
Since she felt silly dancing without Diana she slowly moved away from the dance floor. For a moment she felt like returning to her normal ways when at a Slytherin party and standing by the wall while watching the fun. Once she found herself a nice seat on one of the couches she sat down and watched everyone. The new song also had a nice beat so maybe she should get up and dance again. But her seat on the couch was comfortable and there was space if someone wanted to join her. It might be nice if someone joined her, but she figured Diana would drag her to dance again once she was through with Leif.

~ ♛ ~ IN YOUR HEAD, IN YOUR HEADT H E Y A R E F I G H T I N G ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ She was looking for the dress that said, "I'm fabulous, wouldn't you like to be me?" but apparently when she was shopping for party wear all she had found was, "I'm beautiful, wouldn't you like to do me?" And that was what she had finally decided she would have to deal with. The dress she had slipped on, was of course gorgeous. It was a style from back home, and very unlikely that anyone at Diana's trivial party would have ever seen before. But she planned on making them wish they had it, or had the money to have it, the moment she walked in that door.
What she had on, was designed to do just that. Of course, it had been her first choice, but she had originally discarded it because it looked like a ball gown was cut down into a corset and a bit of lace. She didn't want to look like she had been locked in a tower, so she had gone through almost every other dress/outfit in her closet before she took a second look at the soft pink dress and decided, yes, that was the one for her.
Her hair, was done up in a messy bun. The way she liked it, but everything else had been remade. Starting with the locket around her neck, clearly lacking sentimental pictures. Who would she have put in there? No, like always everything she wore was for looks. The most likely to draw eyes were the bedazzled heels she was sporting. They were the finishing touches. And being that she had so carefully picked them, along with everything else she wore, she hoped they bedazzled the audience.
When she entered the party, promptly late, she discovered that she had done her job. Eyes were laid upon her quickly, they scanned her body, resting at her thighs (uncovered), breast (covered, hardly), and lips (painted a glossy red). Her hand was on her hip, and she was scanning them as well. Truthfully, there was only one person she was looking for. She did not see her at first glance, but pretended that she had because when every eye is on you - you don't just stand there and look pretty. You strut, and how good Astrid was at strutting could not be described in mere words. Fortunately, everyone was there to watch.
Astrid spotted Cassandra Murphy, probably the most innocent girl in Slytherin, sitting on a sofa and waved to her. But she would have never stopped for Cassandra, what good would innocence be at a party? No good, so she continued until she spotted the curl of her tall and handsome younger brother.
With a quick adjustment of her heel she began heading to him, saying hello to anyone staring to close to her and giving several people a million dollar smile. She briefly hoped her brother was not embarrassing himself, or worse her. It was only when she tapped on his shoulder did she see he was talking to Diana, herself. The pleasant surprise only lasted a second. Her eyes, were already comparing Diana's outfit to her own, as she guessed Diana was doing.
"Is this the Waiting For Astrid Party?" She quickly registered that Diana was offering a drink to her brother, and knew that her stupid, buzz-kill brother would never say yes. With the skill of probably the best sister in the world, she shook her brother's shoulder and said, 'One drink won't kill you, dude. Let lose, I swear, you can still be your own protective self, I'm sure you don't have the stomach of a Hufflepuff." She smiled at her brother and let go of his shoulder so that she could place it back onto her hip.

She was a little bit surprised she had managed to drag Leif at all - she hadn't thought he'd be responsive to her carrying off like a puppet through half the dance floor, but probably she'd just managed to surprise him so much that he'd agreed. She didn't think anyone had ever tried to do that before - Leif was much too dignified, and prim, and proper for one to think of doing such things. She figured it was good for her that she didn't give a damn about what he thought or didn't think about her - she was enjoying getting him all flustered a little more than she should have. It was just - he was just too much fun to play around with. A little like Cassandra, though more thrilling because he was in a position of a lot of power as far as their house was concerned, since he was considered hot, intelligent and extremely rich. She wondered how Astrid would react if she had to protect her brother for once - would she even try to protect him from Diana?
"I-I-I don't uh, think I really, well I don't actually like to drink...alcohol, you know it severely hinders your uh...motor skills, and such."
She laughed, a merry, tinkling sound. "Oh come on Leif," she said, "Just one drink." She turned her pretty blue eyes to him, trying to manage an innocent pout that she was pretty good at - except that she rather felt like laughing. Motor skills? Really? "I generally find that it makes me better at dancing," she told him with a grin, and then grabbed a drink of some dark strong liquid she found in a bottle, which she finished in one go. She wondered why she'd done that. It was a little too much for her to be drinking, now she'd have to restrict herself to nursing a glass of something fairly mild for the rest of the evening. It took her a moment to realize that she'd actually wanted to shock Leif - see the look on his face when she did that. It was delicious, really.
She had just been pouring a firewhisky in two glasses (one for herself, one for Leif) when she heard a familiar voice from her. "Astrid!" she said with a grin. "That took you long enough." She surveyed the dress with a critical eye, but she had to admit it was pretty hot. She'd probably have done away with the flashy shoes - oh, who was she kidding? They were the best part. She was starting to wish she'd gone with something a little more flashy than what she'd worn - or dressed it up a little bit more. She could feel the eyes that had followed Astrid here. "Interesting cut, of your dress," she lied. It was a very unique style, but not particularly appealing to Diana. The male population around did not seem to agree, but she ignored that, convincing herself that there'd been a similar sigh when she'd entered too.
'One drink won't kill you, dude. Let lose, I swear, you can still be your own protective self, I'm sure you don't have the stomach of a Hufflepuff."
That reminded her of what she'd been trying to do. She poured another drink and handed the glass to Astrid, and then turned back to Leif with the second glass in hand, eyes still appealing to him in her trademark expressive way. "Now she's said it too," she told him, forcing the glass on him. "Cassandra actually brewed this," she informed both of them, though they probably knew - they'd been in the common room when the event had occurred, hadn't they? Though Astrid, at least, was so self centered she might not even have noticed. Diana was rather proud of her idea to brew the firewhisky themselves, it was rather delicious. She took another sip, caught her stomach rolling, and decided she needed a bite to eat (when was the last time she'd eaten?) to stop herself from getting drunk.

Even though Leif knew Astrid better than anyone else, he still couldn't taker his eyes off her as she walked across the room, he understood why men were drawn to her, she had a n air about her that just made you want to know her, which in his opinion was a weakness but of course she thought was her greatest attribute. Leif let out a deep sigh, now that she was here, perhaps Diana would let him be,he hoped, he really hoped he wouldn't have to drink but when Diana wanted something it usually happened. But his relief melted when Astrid finally joined them and suggested only a Hufflepuff, dirty mostly muggleborns that he really disliked, would deny a drink of the masterfully brewed (by Cassandra, which Diana once again mentioned) firewhiskey.
He sputtered, why did the girls always do this to him, they knew he wasn't the type but somehow these two would get under his skin and get him to do things no one else could, even his parents couldn't make him brush his teeth but these two girls could make him do so much worse. He loved his sister, and to some extent Diana, but the control they had over him made his skin crawl, he didn't like knowing that anyone could make him do the types of things his sister could.
He looked down at his shoes, and back up as Diana drained another drink, and grimaced, he was really going to have to do it, and if he didn't do it now Astrid would just spend the night wither bugging him or trying to get back at him for not being any fun, and he didn't really like those options. He grabbed 2 glasses from the table, the ones that appeared the least full and drained them quickly, if he was going to do it he was going to get it over with as fast as possible.
'Happy now?' he asked, he felt a little light headed already, hopefully that wouldn't last too long, he really didn't enjoy it. He now stood, slightly more awkwardly than before, due to his uncomfortable lightheadedness, and the fact that he wasn't sure what the expressions on the girls around him meant, 'So, I think, I'm...uh, going to go, uh, sit over there.' he said and sat on the floor, half under the table of drinks, and looked over the party with his trademarked sullen expression on his face, and a light glaze over his eyes.

~ ♛ ~ IN YOUR HEAD, IN YOUR HEADT H E Y A R E F I G H T I N G ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ ❀ ~ Astrid wanted to dance. There was no wonder why, the entire crowd's eyes were on her. She wanted them to stay that way. And what way would be better than having fun on the dance floor. She turned behind her to see if any boys were going to have the courage to ask her to dance. That fact that they didn't was only another confidence raiser. She was unapproachable and it made her feel like she was amazing, beautiful, and invincible.
As the girls waited for Leif to give in, a drink was handed to Astrid. She was cautious with her first sip. It was brewed by an innocent looking Slytherin named Cassandra, and she had no idea if the girl was talented in this area. The sip was short, it was only meant to taste the substance inside. It tasted OK, but she wasn't going to complain. The drinks weren't meant to taste good anyway, they were just meant for you to get a bit ditzy. Or as Diana and herself were sure to demonstrate tonight, more.
Her focus was changed back to the world around her as she saw Leif take a couple drinks from the counter and chug them down. She noticed that they were already low in fluids but didn't say anything. She was already proud of her brother for going along with the plan, making this party seem like a better idea in an instance. Her brother asked an annoyed, Happy Now? and Astrid had to say she was pleasantly surprised and pleased. "Yes, yes I am." Leif sat down under the table of drinks and Astrid raised an eyebrow, looking skeptical at Diana.
"You're suppose to dance it off, Leif!" She laughed and looked down at her brother, but couldn't be sure that he was paying attention to the outside world so she turned to Diana. She finished the drink she was holding before commenting, "Brewed by Cassandra? Well isn't she turning out to be a useful little puppy." Her tone was half joking, half unsure. Mostly she was looking for Diana's opinion on Cassandra, she assumed she felt the girl was as boring as the next person, but maybe with potential to be a true Slytherin girl.
She turned her head, searching for the figure of that same girl. She was still sitting down, watching the crowds. And as if she was trying to prove Astrid's point, she did it rather blandly. There was nothing exciting about the way she looked, or the way she looked into the party.

'Happy now?'
"Very," she said with a wink to Leif as he sat on the floor (why the floor?) after draining the two drinks. She wondered if she was doing the wrong thing by flirting with him (he was a bit of an oddball, after all, and no fun besides), but she couldn't resist it. It wasn't like there was anyone else nearby who was any better, and she was getting a little drunk, and she was probably safer with Leif than anyone else in the party, most of whom were also getting just as drunk as she was. On Cassandra's brewed firewhisky, which was clearly a bit hit, as a number of guys and girls walked over to the drinks area, took a glass, and often drained it. A few of them stopped to smile at her, and she gave them a suggestive look. Ha, so she had been able to draw attention away from Astrid, huh? And then she noticed most of the others were looking at Astrid, so she looked back at the dance floor, which was inviting, to say the least.
"Yes, Cassandra is...quite a NICE girl, don't you think?" she remarked to Astrid. Her unspoken words were that maybe she was too nice to get around with their crowd. No matter what anyone called Astrid and Diana, she doubted they had ever been called 'nice'. Quite honestly, despite Astrid's clear suggestion that she was just playing with or using Cassandra, she wasn't all that sure. It seemed too much effort to put behind someone that dull. She had a suspicion that Astrid was planning to replace her, or at least have a spare 'girl-friend' ready to call on. Well, she wished her luck with that. Honestly, if she thought Cassandra could replace Diana, then she wished her luck with that. The girl didn't even know how to enhance her cheekbones properly! Which reminded her that she needed to teach Cassandra that.
But for the moment, she had more pressing matters on hand. Like the drink in her hand, the inviting dance floor, the up-beat music. She wasn't sure if Astrid wanted to dance but she didn't really care very much. "Astrid! Let's go dance!" she said, and as Astrid had pressed Leif to do the same, she did add an imploring, "Won't you come, Leif?" with one more of her tempting smiles at him. She had to stop flirting with him, but she didn't. Instead, she walked straight into the crowd of people dancing, and immediately drew attention with her dancing (which she was soon lost in). She expected Astrid and Leif to follow if they wanted to, and go to hell if they didn't. She didn't give a damn just then. She downed her drink, and realized her head was buzzing, but she was having too much fun.
