theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: LIBERTY OUTFIT: SEE PICTURE ONE LAST THING: AND SO IT BEGINS!
"And all that muggle had left was one eye. They say his ghost haunts the Forbidden Forest seeking revenge on all wizards and witches and you never know when he might come and...GET YOU!"
Brandon watched as screams of terror and then laughter erupted from the students around the campfire. It seemed to be a good story but Brandon wasn't scared very easily by things he knew weren't real. He looked around at the story teller. A fourth year hufflepuff student. This hufflepuff sure was brave for telling a scary story around a bonfire in front of people she didn't know, but hey, whatever floats your boat. He watched as the girl un-lumosed her wand and too it away from under her chin. It was acting as a flashlight though Brandon never understood why people did that. It didn't make it more scary in the least bit. The fire was burning brightly and the heat was starting to make Brandon sweat. He stood up from the log he was sitting on and looked around quickly at the people sitting around the bonfire. He didn't know anyone and yet he was still having a pretty good time. He turned around, stepped over the log, and decided to start walking. He was getting kind of board of scary stories and he wanted to go and do something a bit more interesting. Night had fallen and this bonfire was a great event though he didn't expect it would be. He didn't think many people would show up but there was a huge outcome and it was fantastic. It reminded him of when he used to go camping as a little boy with his family. He missed those days...oh how he missed them. He came across the Forbidden Forest. He had never actually stepped foot in the forest before, and he had always wanted to try. He wasn't sure though if tonight was the best night to do it. There were tons of Hogwarts Staff around and he didn't want to go in, break a rule, and then have to be removed from the bonfire event or have house points taken away from his house...or both. He wasn't sure if he should do it or not. He started to turn around, but as soon as he did he heard some walking from inside the forest. He stopped and slowly turned his head a bit over his shoulder. He could hear the walking getting deeper and deeper into the woods. Now this really sucked because instead of being scared like a normal person would. He really wanted to figure out who was in there and why. It could've been anything really! This was exciting him and his curiousity was biting at his stomach. He had to go in and figure it out. He looked around to make sure that no one was watching, and then when the cost was clear, he moved aside a couple branches with his hand and entered the Forbidden Forest. It was quite dark in there so he decided to lighten up the field a bit. "Lumos" he said. A bright light came from his wand, but he dimmed it as much as he could. He didn't want to draw too much attention to himself. He stepped over logs and ducked under branches. He couldn't find anyone who had been making the noise but he was determined to. He went a little bit deeper very slowly, the bonfire still shining in the background. That would be a great way to figure out where out is later on. Liberty smiled and shook her head as the others around her screamed in horror before bursting out into laughter, entranced by the horror stories being told. She herself was a more practical type of person, and was not easily scared by that sort of thing even if it did give her the creeps a bit, causing her to glance around at the forest. There wasn't fear in her eyes though, but rather longing. She was sitting around a bonfire, amongst many other students listening to the storyteller, a Hufflepuff whom she did not recognise but she was sure they were younger than her. The entire atmosphere was alive with the excitement and fun of the bonfire. She felt as if adrenaline was constantly being pumped into her veins, and her heartbeat was definitely moving quicker than usual causing her cheeks to be permanently stained a pinkish colour throughout the night. An amused smile, that was close a small laugh escaped her lips when the girl un-lumosed her wand. What was so scary about shining a light in your face when telling a horror story? Besides, wasn't darkness supposed to be scarier? Liberty often wondered things like this, and it made no sense to her. Many things did not make sense. Take daylight savings time for example.. what was the point of it? She wondered if the person who came up with it was a muggle or a wizard..she would have to research that sometime for sure. She watched as another student, this time a 3rd year, went up to tell their own scary story, and looked around theher at the various activities going on. She wondered where her friends had gotten off too. Liberty was drawn out of her thoughts by a movement beside her. A boy who had been sitting not too far from her had just gotten up. She had noticed that he did not seem afraid by the stories either. Looking more closely, she recognised him from most of her classes, and surely enough it was Brandon Thorne. A boy who was both in her house and year yet she had never really spoken to. She looked back towards the 3rd year, nervous that the boy might sense her gaze and look over at her. She hated when that happened. Piqued by her curiousity though, she glanced back at him as he walked, coming ever nearer to the Forbidden Forest. She watched as he seemed to linger for a moment, before deciding to turn back. She was about to turn her attention back to the horror story herself, when she realised that something seemed to have caught his attention. She felt her own curiousity grow stronger, because she didn't even know what it had been. Seeing him eventually decide to head into the forest, she bit her lip for a moment, thinking. It would be a pretty stupid thing to do. The grounds was full with Hogwarts staff. In fact, it would probably be the most risky night to break a rule like this, with so many of them around. Then again, they would not expect anyone to do something so stupid, would they? It may result in being banned from the rest of the bonfire, not to mention losing house points- and Ravenclaws were in the lead! Her housemates would be upset with her, not to mention her best friend Arianne who was a prefect, and from what Lib had seen she now tried to enforce the rules as far as her duty called best she could. Realising that if she spent any longer sitting there thinking, she would lose sight of him and she would not be able to follow him anyway, Liberty rose from her seat and followed the same path Brandon had just walked as inconspicuously as she could. It was not hard, considering that not very many people usually paid her much attention anyway. Seeing a small, but bright light suddenly appear between the trees, before almost completely disappearing, she gathered that he had used lumos and dimmed down the light as to not draw too much attention, as she would've done pretty much the same. Feeling inside of the pocket of the night robes she was wearing, she placed her hand on her own wand, wrapping her fingers around it but not taking it out as yet. She ducked under a branch and entered the forest, following the light from Brandon's wand. She waited until she was far enough for the light to not shine brightly if someone from the bonfire happened to look over, before pulling out her own wand and whispering "Lumos!", and dimming down her own light. The trees weren't too close to each other, but not far apart either- she could still see the light from the bonfire shining brightly behind her. After a moment it hit her. She was actually here, in the forest. Not outside.. not watching it from her window. She was in the forbidden bloody forest. Finally. After years of longing to explore it, she was finally here, without a professor or staff member for some reason. With renewed excitement, she looked up and started ahead, planning to keep a safe distance from the boy so he wouldn't think she was weird or a stalker or anything like that, but still keeping him within sight. She felt a bit self-conscious on her own though, as if thousands of eyes were watching her from every dark corner, as if even the trees were watching her. She remembered the Whomping Willow. Maybe they were. She lifted her foot to take another step, but was unpleasantly surprised when it hit something hard, causing her to stumble and fall face-forward onto the dark brown earth ground beneath her. She fell with a slight shriek, not noticing at that point in time the noise that both her shriek and her fall had made was more than loud enough to reach the boy's ears. theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: LIBERTY OUTFIT: SEE PICTURE ONE LAST THING: haha I'm liking this thread already
Brandon was trying to do too many things at once. He was in the Forbidden Forest and he knew he wasn't supposed to so he was keeping an eye out for staff or students that would tattle. He was trying to be as careful as he could to not make any sounds as to not scare away what he had saw come in here and while doing that, he was trying to not lose sight of whatever it was that he had followed. He didn't know if his light was too bright or not but he needed a bit so he decided to chance it. If the time came where he saw someone come up or the figure he was following turned around, he would turn it off quickly and hope to not be seen.
The fire could still be heard crackling in the background and combining that with the caws of crows and the breaking of tree branches was loud, however ironically the entire scene was very silent. It could be because he was thinking too hard and concentrating like mad, or it could be because all the individual sounds played turns in when they would be heard or were too distant to be loud. He stepped over another log and ducked under a branch but after he did he quickly turned around. Something caught his eye. What was it? He wasn't sure what exactly it was but it had to be bright for him to see it from the corner of his eye. He couldn't find out where it came from and he started to get a bit nervous. Was the thing he was following behind him now?
Brandon shook his head. Nah he had been watching it very carefully and it had been in front. But as he turned his head back he realized that whatever that was caused him to lose sight of his prey. Shoot. He put down his wand in a "this sucks" kinda way and continued to walk on a little slowly now. All of a sudden he heard a crack, a small shriek and a thump. Something had just fallen. He had his wand at the ready and was slowly turning in a circle. He wasn't sure where it came form but he would be ready if it was something or someone he didn't want to mess with.
Almost completing the circle, his wand lit up a girl that was on the floor of the forest. He had recognized this girl from his classes and from his common room and he knew her name to be Liberty. He also recognized her from the campfire. What was she doing in here? Was she following him? Brandon started walking towards her and when he got close enough he said, "Are you following me Liberty?"
It was kind of ironic that he was the predator and the prey now. He didn't know what she was following him for (or really if she even was...hence the question), but he wanted an answer. So many ideas on what she could be doing in the forest flooded his mind including she was working for the person he was following, she saw the person too and wanted to follow him as well, or she was trying to follow him specifically in a total unrelated turn of events. Whatever the reason was he was getting more and more peeved with the idea and depending on her answer, he would either leave her there or help her up. He was not normally like this to his house especially, but he was confused as hell already, and this just confused him even more. [/div] tell me that we both matter dont we

"Mmm.." Liberty groaned slightly, not from pain but from feeling completely stupid. She had tripped over a protruding tree root, and fallen head-first into the ground with a thud, also breaking a few thin branches that made loud snapping noises. She was confused at first, and raised propped herself up with her arm so at least her face was not in the dirt anymore. Reaching with her other hand she felt her head as it suddenly began throbbing as if she had a horrible headache. And oh great. Her first adventure into the forbidden forest and she had already done something completely idiotic. Hearing the sound of someone coming toward her, she swore inwardly. In her confusion she had completely forgotten that Brandon would most definitely have heard her fall and was completely unprepared as to what to do or say to explain herself.
"Are you following me Liberty?" At the question she honestly did not know what to respond. She felt like a deer in headlights. She could say yes, but then he might think of her as a creep or a stalker. She wasn't though.. she was just curious. She lowered her eyes from his gaze, which to her felt as if it was piercing her. And there was no way she was going to lie and say no. She hated when people lied, and she refused to be a hypocrite by telling one even if it would get her out of a tough situation. She bit her lip, knowing he was waiting for an answer. To her horror, she felt tears begin to well up in her eyes. Damn it! Why were they even there? Maybe it was a mixture of her throbbing head, the fact that her robes were now covered in leaves and dirt, she looked liked a complete idiot and the little adventure she had such high hopes for was not turning out so great after all, and on top of it someone was witnessing her failure of a moment, someone who she happened to be following and she could sense that he was not exactly pleased with the idea her following him.
Her face had heated up from embarrassment so that her cheeks were now an intense scarlet colour, and her nose had aquired a slightly reddish tint to it. She lowered her head even more, hoping beyond hope that maybe he did not see all of this. Even her closest friends had rarely seen her cry, there was no way she wanted a boy who barely knew her and did not seem to be in the best of moods to see it. Besides, it would probably just make things awkward, Liberty had a knack for doing that to people around her. She bit down on her lip hard, to prevent it from trembling, and took a deep breath. She did not want to risk talking, but what choice did she have?
"Yes," she said feebly, in a slightly trembling voice. "I'm sorry," she added, too afraid to look up at him both because she feared his reaction and she was too proud to allow him to see how badly she wanted to cry. It was almost instinctive for her though; in times of sorrow she would rarely cry, except maybe for a moment on her own. But when she felt humiliated (like now) or angry, she would not be able to hold back the tears. Thankfully she rarely faced situations like these, as she often just kept to herself with a quiet existence...and moments like these were exactly why she was so afraid of being brave and going out of her comfort zone.
"I was just..I always wanted to come in here..." she fell silent, deciding not to say any more, as she remembered that speaking usually just made things worse for her. She was afraid to rub away the tears in her eyes as well, as she still hoped that somehow he may not have seen them though she suspected it was physically impossible despite the darkness that the forest provided, she could see the light from his wand shining down on her. Thinking about wands, it hit her suddenly that her wand was no longer in her hand, and must have rolled away somewhere when she fell. At the moment though she honestly could not care less about that, which went to show how upset she was- she loved her wand, and felt even more uncomfortable without it.

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: LIBERTY OUTFIT: SEE PICTURE ONE LAST THING: sorry for being kind of harsh! That was all Brandon I swear haha
Brandon waited for the response of the girl who seemed to be liking her time on the ground. She had been lying there ever since she fell. He would normally help her up, ask if she was ok, and help her clean off the dirt and leaves. However, in this situation, he just wanted an answer. Was she following him or not and why? Was that too hard to ask. He was more angry than he should've been but he lost what he was following and he was not happy about it at all. He had a short fuse at time and this was definitely one of those times. He looked at her and could swear that he heard a sniff or two. Although he could not see her face (as it was down still) he wondered to himself if Liberty was crying right in front of him. Really? I mean, it's one thing if she's crying because she's scared, but crying because she got caught? Well maybe he was wrong. He shouldn't jump to conclusions. All he wanted was his answer.
Finally an answer came. "Yes, I'm sorry."
she said with her head still down. Seriously!? He continued to listen for her explanation, "I was just..I always wanted to come in here..." He lowered his wand and turned around slowly shaking his head in confusion and anger. He kicked a rock deeper into the forest to try and get some of it out of his system and then put his hands on his hips facing the opposite way of Liberty. He now had someone following him, that only wanted some adventure herself, crying on the floor of the Forbidden Forest. He half admired her for having the guts to come into the forest and looking for adventure as that's what he probably would've done. He definitely would not have gotten caught though and would've been more careful. Rookie mistake. He turned back around and shown the light back her way. "There are so many things wrong with what you've done Liberty," he started, "I admire your curiousity and frankly you're need for adventure as that is what I yearn for, however you cannot be caught when following someone and to be completely honest, "following someone" is not for you...clearly." He motioned his wand over her giving the clue that she has fallen and given away her position. "You need to be careful in this forest because there are no rainbows or daisies anywhere. You really shouldn't have chosen to follow me. I was following someone myself. The fact that you fell caused me to lose my sight on who I was following and now my plans are ruined." He looked down at her and felt a bit bad. He could get a bit angry and scary sometimes though he didn't mean to (most of the time anyway). He figured enough was enough and he would try and help her up now since whoever or whatever it was was probably long gone by now. He sighed, "Here, let me help you". It was not the most caring of voices but it wasn't an angry voice anymore either. He stepped closer to Liberty and bent down brushing off some dirt from her hair and back and outstretching his hand to help her up. Just as he was about to pull her up entirely on his own, he heard a twig snap close by from behind. His head jerked quickly to the sound and he turned his wand in that direction. Something was there. What if the thing he was following wasn't exactly the "nicest" thing in the world and was now following him. For the first time in a long time he felt scared. It was extremely dark in the forest and they were far enough in to possibly not make it out if they didn't plan it right. He was trying to create a plan while trying to find the identity of the twig snapper. He totally forgot Liberty was still behind him though. There was a tree nearby that he wanted to go and hide behind but he knew that if he or Liberty would fall or make a sound at all that they would give themselves away. The fact that he couldn't see anyone or anything made him very uneasy and he knew that Liberty was not the most graceful on the forest floor. His hand was still outstretched behind his back hoping Liberty would take it so that he would know where she was without having to turn around. He whispered to her, "We're not alone."[/div] tell me that we both matter dont we

Liberty nodded, keeping her head down. She was afraid to look up or even move, though a part of her thought that he should not be this angry with her. Following him wasn't that bad was it? Still, she knew she should not have done it. It was like meddling, and Liberty was not a meddler. Not usually anyway. She brought her hands up to her face and rubbed her eyes, as one would usually do if they were sleepy. It worked though, and rubbed the tears efficiently out of her eyes though the whites of her eyes, along with the rest of her face, was still red. Maybe he had not noticed she was crying, and now that the tears were gone he did not have to know. Well, the girl could hope.
"There are so many things wrong with what you've done Liberty." She kept her head down, not responding to this. She had not meant to do anything so wrong, or to upset him this badly.. she just gotten so caught up in the excited, lively atmosphere at the bonfire that she longed for more excitement, and where would be more exciting than the forbidden forest? The one place she had always longed to explore? Spending most of her time in the library or Ravenclaw Common Room/dormitories did get boring after a while..and after five years of it, this was the result. She also longed to jump in the lake, and explore the world below there. After performing a bubble-head charm, of course.. but somehow the forbidden forest seemed more logical. Though she quickly realised that it had not been the best of ideas.
"I admire your curiousity and frankly you're need for adventure as that is what I yearn for, however you cannot be caught when following someone and to be completely honest, "following someone" is not for you...clearly." At this she was tempted to give a small smile, and it lightened her mood a bit. She was afraid to even smile though, in case he took it the wrong way, as he still was not exactly being friendly with her. Instead she just muttered, more to herself, "You're right, it isn't.." 'Why are you so upset with me for it for though?' she longed to add, but held her tongue. Most people in Liberty's position would probably argue back, or not even care about his reaction. However she didn't feel even the slightest bit of anger in her. It took a lot to get Liberty angry, but it did not take a lot to upset her in the sense of making her sad or afraid. She was a softie, unfortunately.
She bit her lip slightly, wishing he would stop telling her off. She got the point, he did not want her following him. It wasn't as if she was arguing back or defending herself though. She accepted she was wrong and was genuinely sorry for upsetting him, though maybe because her head was lowered still he could not tell? She was already thoroughly disappointed that this was turning out so horribly, after she had gotten so keyed up for it, felt like an idiot for humiliating herself so badly and was literally on a low level right now. Did he really have to kick her while she was down? "You need to be careful in this forest because there are no rainbows or daisies anywhere. You really shouldn't have chosen to follow me. I was following someone myself." She wondered briefly why he was so mad at her for doing something that he himself had been doing.. was that not hypocritical? Then again, he had not fallen and given himself away. She had.
"The fact that you fell caused me to lose my sight on who I was following and now my plans are ruined." At the last line she felt even worse than before. "I'm sorry!" she interjected suddenly, finally raising her head but still not making eye contact. She was not sure if he was finished speaking or not, but she suddenly did not care. "I'm sorry okay? I really am. I didn't mean to upset you." She fell silent again, breathing more heavily this time, feeling that shaky feeling inside when she took even the teensiest step out of her confort zone. And following someone into the forest, upsetting them, and then interrupting their tirade.. this was definitely, way way out of her comfort zone.
Liberty was relieved when he finally seemed to have at least gotten over his anger a bit and offered to help her up. He was not being friendly or caring, but at least he seemed to have gotten over a bit of his anger. At least it sounded that way. She nodded, finally making eye contact with him, as he helped brush the dirt off of her, but her own expression was guarded. She was still afraid of him, at least afraid of being herself around him. Liberty could not see herself wanting to open up to this boy, or them being friends. Then again sometimes people befriended the people they least expected too, and not all friendships started off well right?
Suddenly, just as she was about to take his hand, a twig snapped close behind him (and in front of her). Too close. Then she remembered her wand. Where was it? Looking around, the still dimly lighted wand was thankfully right under her robes. She wondered if she should put it out, but decided against it instead dimming it as dull as it could go. She peered into the darkness, as if hoping her eyes would suddenly act as flashlights, but could not making out anything. Like him, she completely forgot that she was on the forest floor and that it was probably about time she got up. "We're not alone.". At his voice, she snapped back to reality, and took his hand and was pulled up solely through him, as she was afraid that if she pressed down on the ground or touched a tree or anything else in the forest, it would make too much noise.
Instead of fear, which any normal 5th year girl in her position would probably feel, she felt a rush of excitement, though it was not as strong or elated as it had been when she entered the forest, having been numbed by her bad encounter with the boy who was standing in front of her. However, she had no idea what to do. They could be in real danger here, and she was afraid to move and felt a bit uneasy and knowing that she could not see whatever it was, but it was possible that it could see them. She looked at Brandon in the darkness, hoping that he had some idea what their next move should be. If it could see them, it made no difference how much noise they made.. if not though, then they should probably be careful and silent.

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: LIBERTY OUTFIT: SEE PICTURE ONE LAST THING: not as long but I feel like one thing at a time should happen. Him realizing she dropped her wand before the story continues maybe?
The girl had nodded in agreement with Brandon stating that being sneaky was not one of her good traits. He at least respected that she wasn't fighting back in a way mostly because Brandon couldn't control this emotion. He didn't want to be angry with her but he had no choice. It was her fault he lost the figure and his body was reacting to it in one way that it knew how. Once he was done talking however, he noticed that this girl had more in her than meets the eye. She yelled apologies, "I'm sorry okay? I really am. I didn't mean to upset you."
Although not strong and stern, he knew that everyone had some fight in them. And this was hers. From the moment the twig snapped, Brandon had had his ears perked up and his mind focused. He knew that at any given time he may have to use a spell or may have to run and his body was ready for either option. He felt as Liberty grabbed his hand and was pulled up. She was a smart girl and he knew that she would be feeling the same on edge emotion as he was. He knew she knew many spells as well and between the two of them, they could probably protect themselves if needed depending on what it was. He continued to turn slowly in a 360 degree circle with one hand on Liberty the whole time. He turned himself in a way so that he was back to back with her so that he could keep an eye on one section of the forest, and her another section. The fire still crackling in the background gave everything a more eerie feel to it. This was exciting but extremely frightening all at the same time. "Take out your wand so you can cover the other side" he whispered to her, turning his head slightly over his shoulder, but not his body. With the two of them covering the forest they should be able to spot whatever that sound came from. "Be prepared to run if needed, and come up with a few spells you would use just in case as well." He wanted to make sure both were ready if anything should happen. He looked up and looked across and continued to turn. Something was in the forest and it was watching them. He could feel it. It was very unsettling to know that you were being watched and could do nothing about it. He was desperate to listen for another clue as to where this figure was or get a glimpse of it. She understood this, and wondered why she had not thought of it herself. Usually the automatic reaction of people in their position would be to stand back to back, so that they could not be sneaked up on as easily. Liberty's mind usually took a while to register things though, which probably also explained her lack of fear. She currently only felt her excitement from earlier being reawakened. Yes, she was fully aware of the imminent danger they could possibly be in but it had not completely registered in her mind yet.
She nodded, and reached into her pocket for her wand before remembering it was already in her hand. Well that was foolish of her. Taking a breath, she cleared her mind and raised her wand at the ready before her, multiple spells that she had studied already going through her mind. She may be an intelligent witch, but unfortunately she did not have exceptional skill it casting spells. She was just as the average spell caster, and had to work at it go get her spells to improve. There were one or two defense spells out of the dozens she knew that she was better at, and she hoped that should she have to use any spells, those would be appropriate for the situation.
Liberty nodded again in response to what he was saying, but did not say anything herself. Although he was speaking softly you never knew if whatever it was had good enough hearing to hear them still. Liberty could hear the cracking of the Bonfire they had left behind, and out of the corner of her eye she could still see a few sparks, distantly between the trees. There was a quietness around them, a silence that allowed her to simply observe, and absorb the feeling of the forest around them. The dark, uneven ground below her feet, due to the many tree roots of different shapes and sizes and the earthy smell which came from all sides. The little light from the moon which shone, not illuminating much but still visible above them. The many little sounds of the life in the forest, that were so small that they did not disrupt the silence.
The air around them was colder than at the bonfire, clearly, as there was no longer any heat to supplement for it. She had not bothered to walk with a cloak as she had not exactly planned to wander away from the fire, and now that she was taking in everything the chill of the surrounding trees hit her suddenly making her aware that she was now shivering slightly, which in turn made her wand shaky. Damn. She hoped this would not affect her spell casting too much. Then a thought suddenly came to her. What if whatever it was was above them? No, the sound had come from ground level right? But that did not mean that it did not have the ability to fly. Merlin, she hoped not.

Also I figured it was time to move this along but I couldn't think of much so this is what came out as I wrote it haha
---
Still circling around the floor of the forbidden forest him and the girl had their wands ready and thoughts set on the situation at hand. Both knew that they had to be careful in both their actions and sounds. They didn't want to give away their position if that crack they heard wasn't the thing they thought it was. This whole scenario was playing with Brandon's brain and as much as he loved adventure and adrenaline rushes, he was not a fan of being in danger at this extremity. He knew that if the thing was watching them it must have them exactly where it wanted them. Unaware of where it was and scared as hell. Brandon would not show fear with his body language though as he wanted to prove to himself, Liberty, and this thing that he was a strong individual that could pack a punch if needed.
Just then he heard another crack from deeper into the forest. What the heck was stalking them? He looked closer and lit up his wand a little more. As soon as he lit up his wand he saw two eyes that had caught the light and was reflecting it back at him through its eyes. He couldn't make out what kind of creature it was but it was something alright. It looked like it was shocked to have been caught. But now Brandon knew where the sounds were coming from. It was not this creature, however, that the Ravenclaw student had followed into the forest. It was definitely walking on two legs and he assumed it was human. That means that this person was still out there.
This creature was hunting them though and he knew they needed to get the heck out of the forest as fast as they could. But did they go back to the bonfire where they could endanger more people? Or would more people cause the creature to stop and realize it would be in more danger if it followed them out of the forest. He thought it was worth a shot. He whispered to Liberty, "Liberty, do you see the creature over there?" Trying to point with his eyes, "We've got to get out of the forest ASAP so I'm going to shoot a spell at it and we're both going to run as fast as we can out of here ok?" He was getting set to do this. He knew that once they started running they would both fire spells and charms at the creature. One of them was bound to hit it eventually.
He took aim with his wand and knew what spell he was going to use. He knew that it was not considered a "fifth year level spell" but he had to try it anyway. The creature broke the concentration with a loud growl, opening its mouth and lunging forward. It was ready. Brandon yelled "GO!" to Liberty and then yelled "STUPEFY!" to the creature. He noticed his spell missed and he started running shouting the spell over his shoulder. He ducked under tree branches and hopped over logs behind Liberty as they tried to reach the bonfire light. The creature was indeed not a pleasant one.
tell me that we both matter dont we

Liberty's eyes and ears were wide open, and at the sound from the second crack deeper in the forest she wondered if whatever it was had retreated, or if that meant that there was more than one. She realised she was letting her wand sag a little, as her hand was hurting a bit from holding it up high for so long, and she held it straight ahead again as they circled. Hearing Brandon's voice again, her nervousness increased a bit. Was he trying to give them away? Hearing what he said though, her head immediately turned to the area he had indicated, lighting up her own wand a bit more as well. Since he had already done so, it did not make much different did it now?
A slight chill ran through her, like a passing draft of cold wind, as she saw the eyes staring back at her. What was that? She had read about the various creatures that resided in here and a million things ran through her mind. What if it was an acromantular? She was not very fond of spiders, and the spells she knew would not be very useful against it, unless Protego blocked off their attacks which she highly doubted. If it were the centaurs, there were a lot of those so hopefully they were not angry at them. As long as they did not insult them they should be alright.... hopefully. It could not be a werewolf.. it was not full moon was it? She could not remember.
There were countless of vicious magical creatures that it could be, Merlin she hoped it was one of the friendlier one... but from the way it was following them, she felt hunted. Like prey. And mind you, it was not a nice feeling. "We've got to get out of the forest ASAP so I'm going to shoot a spell at it and we're both going to run as fast as we can out of here ok?" She nodded to show that she had heard, understood and agreed. Adventure time was over- this had blown over into full out danger. There was a line between being adventurous and being suicidal, and she certainly was not the latter.
As Brandon yelled go, she did exactly that and started running as fast as her legs would take her in the direction of the bonfire. She glanced back slightly to make sure he was following, almost stumbling on a tree root again as she did so, but it was a minor stumble that did not even cause her to lose her balance, and so she continued going. Her speed was affected by the fact that there were branches to duck under, roots to jump over and areas where two trees were tight together and she had to turn side ways and weave this way and that through them.
Lifting her lighted wand, she turned her body slightly in the direction of the creature as she did not want to risk hitting the boy behind her with the spell. Reducto! she yelled, trying to aim perfectly but as her feet were still moving it was a challenge and her spell hit a tree branch instead, causing it to blast into a million pieces. She saw the creature realise what she had done and if she was not mistaken, it seemed to have gotten even more aggravated. Damn it.This had all occurred in two seconds average. Turning back around she tried to increase her speed as they made for the bonfire.
