Below are the rules that must be abided by for any student to take part in my class. Please be aware that breaking of these rules is not taken lightly and will have consequences.
IC Rules for Lessons
- Respect me and you'll get the same respect back - people can and will be sent away from my class for misbehaviour
- Unless told otherwise you should refer to me as Professor, Sir or Professor Downing
- Follow my instructions to the letter. Magical Creatures are dangerous and you misbehave at your own risk.
- I do not discriminate between Houses so I expect there to be no house rivalry and for students to mix.
- I will be setting homework, essays etc, (but I don't actually expect you to do them OOC)!
- House points will be readilly given to those who participate most in class - answering questions, volunteering for demonstration, etc.
- The date of our next lesson will be posted underneath your class lists. Please check back often to ensure you know when your next class will be.
- Have fun. As long as you stay safe, this class is one of the most fun and practical lessons so enjoy it!!
Homework Next lesson if you RP handing it in and let me know what you would expect your character to get e.g.
OOC rules
- Obviously no godmodding. You're welcome to GM creatures as long as you're in groups but i'd prefer it if you didn't GM creatures that the whole class is looking at. I'll take control of that stuff. The smaller the creature, the more you're welcome to GM. Eg. - Duh, this is not ok.
The absolute most I would accept for a creature being viewed by the whole class would be
- One or two GM incidents (depening on severity) will result in a caution OOC from me. More will result in repoting to Admin. I know it sounds harsh but these threads are for everyone and NOT just you. So if you're doing all the controlling, it's no fun for anyone else.
- You will be marked on your participation in the class (see the class lists) this is scored by one mark for every in-lesson post you write.
- 3 or more posts gets you marked as 'Present'
1-2 means you're 'tardy' and none means you are 'absent'.
- 3 tardy lessons and it's a meeting with your head of house.
Research/Homework I suggest these resources (the ones I use to plan lessons):
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them. If you've got a copy. Rowling released it in 2001 so if you've got a copy it's helpful.
This particular website is amazingly useful
