Brandon looked up at the sky. It had turned to a dark blue/gray colour warning that there may be some rain on the way. From up in the common room he knew that there wasn't much left of the day and decided that he would go outside for a walk around the grounds to take advantage of what was left of the day. He threw on a grey sweater and started making his way down the stairs. The Ravenclaw dormitory was all the way at the top of the towers which made for a long walk down the height of the castle. At least it was a good workout out of it. He saw that there were many more people coming up the stairs then there were going down most likely due to the weather and the fact that it was evening and it would be getting dark soon. Ah well, guess that means less people in his way outside.
He walked through the oak doors and started walking down a trial that wound through the outskirts of the castle. He walked past the lawns noticing that there were still some people sitting on them doing homework and studying each other. Was it really time for that yet? Classes had only just begun. This either meant they had no life or really wanted to succeed at school...or both. He walked past the lake noticing people still swimming within it. Brandon was a swimmer and loved swimming in the lake, but it was way too cold for that right now. He didn't understand how people could ignore the temperature when it was so brisk. He also walked past the Forbidden Forest though there was really nothing and no one there. Brandon had been in there once before with Liberty and he had a frightening experience. It had intrigued him and had made him want to go back in, however had gave him a good enough scare to prevent that from happening for a bit longer.
Then he came across The Whomping Willow. This tree seemed so normal at this moment though he knew well enough that it wasn't normal at all. He had heard stories about this tree trying to "whomp" passer-byers and attack anything that came near it. It was very interesting to know that a tree could be this fascinating and not just stay there looking tall for all its life. He was kind of curious to see if it would "come to life" while he was there as that was something he had always wanted to see. He decided to sit down on the grass and stare at the tree, waiting for it to do something. He looked back up at the clouds that wore the same colours as before. If it hadn't done anything in a couple minutes he would just leave and come back at a later day. He put his legs up (knees facing the sky) with his arms on top of them waiting for the tree to do anything unsual.

School had ended for the day and Astrid was laying on her silky green sheets. A loud commotion was piercing her ears as she tried to take her evening nap. It seemed like her fellow Slytherins were having a bit of a bash in the common room, and she wasn't invited. Astrid tossed and turned around in her bed trying to find a position that would cause the air to go silent. But the noise came through no matter which way she turned. Finally with a sudden sense of urgency she thought, 'i'll show them' and leaped from her bed. She dressed herself like she was going out to a much bigger party; complete with three inch heels and her make-up done quickly but colorfully. She marched out into the common room, where she got some stares, and then past this into the dungeons.
Just outside the common room doors she stopped with a new question. Where to now? And she answered this by just walking, and strutting her party attire. She didn't particularly want to climb any stairs in her heels so she headed outside. The cool air played with her hair as she walked through the lawns, waving and smiling at a few people and ignoring a few others. It seemed most of them were studying, which she wrinkled her nose to. She didn't study, and couldn't understand people who did. It seemed useless, they were all going to end up at the same place anyway.
Well, and there was the fact that Astrid had a fortune to take care of her. She kept walking until the tame lawns were a distant memory and she was the only person in sight. She suddenly felt the sound of silence rush her, she had been so eagerly awaiting it that now she just stood still and closed her eyes. The wind blew and she hugged herself and then continued her walk, with her eyes open. Now she began to see a new picture, the whomping willow was in sight and a lone figure sat underneath it. She had heard stories about the tree being dangerous and stuff, but who would believe that. It was a silly tree for Christ's sake.
Somehow she found herself walking toward him, while looking oddly at him. His back was to her and she made sure to be quiet, the grass blurred the sound of her heels. She was three or four feet behind him when she realized who it was. Brandon Thorne, a Ravenclaw and her ex-boyfriend. She felt herself holding her breath as the overheard rumors came back to her. But Brandon wouldn't do that, would he? Spread rumors just because he had a limping heart over this whole thing. It wasn't like him. The other side of her brain corrected her, actually it kind of was like him. Remember how crazy territorial he was? He must have taken it badly.
She took a couple more steps and tapped Brandon lightly on the back wanting to talk to him about it. There was still a foot between them, and Astrid had to reach over for that one second before flinging back. She knew that he wouldn't like her to be in his face. Now that she thought about it, she knew a lot about her ex-boyfriend. She remembered how he operated and she felt like he was still hers in a tiny way. "Brandon?" She whispered his name, but knew that he heard her.
OOC: Oh, you're opening post could be much worst, don't sweat. Sorry mine is so long, i didn't mean for it to happen. It just did. haha.

Brandon watched the tree very closely waiting for it to do...anything really. But he must have come at a bad time or something because this tree was not moving at all. It was not doing anything un-treelike and it was a pretty boring scene to watch. He looked up at the sky again and noticed the same colours as before. The weather wasn't getting better either. What a crummy idea this was. I mean, it was great to be outside and he'd rather be here doing nothing than inside doing nothing. Though he really felt like something would be interesting enough to excite him a bit. Guess something exciting was happening elsewhere.
He decided it was probably time to go. However just as he was about to stand up and start his trek back to the castle, he felt a small tap on his back and a softspoken voice saying "Brandon?" His heart instantly sunk down far into his stomach. He knew that voice. At one point in his life he knew it really well. It was a Slytherin heartbreaker named Astrid. Brandon had been in a past relationship with Astrid and he absolutely loved it. Everything was fine until the day that she moved on from him right out of the blue and found someone who must've been better than he. He will never forget that day and the feelings she made him feel. Those gut-wrenching, heart breaking, sad and angry feelings. It was too much for him to handle. Getting your heart broken was not fun at all. He hadn't spoken to her much since and he refused to ever see her again.
But here she was standing right behind him. He hadn't turned around yet and instead thought back to all of these times. He was terrified that if he turned around Astrid would try and persuade him to go back to her. Brandon really wished he could just apparate somewhere else and leave her here alone. If only he could. He couldn't though and it was time to face her. Without turning around, he put his head back up and faced forward asking, "What do you want Astrid?" A little rude? Maybe a little but Brandon had very little (if any) respect for Astrid and he was not willing to show her compassion or forgiveness. She had hurt him too badly. Being someone who doesn't like to hide his emotions and someone who isn't afraid to say anything, this could be a very interesting conversation.
Note: haha no it was great! I don't mind at all. I think we were thinking of two different "relationships" between them though lol I thought they just hooked up and he started to like her when she moved on but a past relationship sounds even better! This should get interesting.

Brandon's stiff words cut through her, she shivered as if the bad weather had just taken it's toll on her. The gray skies were now apparent to her, and she thought it might rain tonight. But her mind was hardly on the weather, if she was a softer girl her eyes may have teared up from the sudden rudeness that Brandon displayed. His words rang in her ears. What did she want? If she simply answered, to talk, she knew she would be turned away with an even ruder answer. Of course, he was simply returning the hurt she must have given him. Her mind taunted her and told her that he wouldn't even look at her. She deserved those rumors, she deserved everything she got. But Astrid shut herself up and answered Brandon's question.
"I don't want anything, but unfortunately I need to talk to you." The words came out without thinking, and they mimicked the roughness that Brandon had displayed. She wished she hadn't said them, he didn't deserve it. But at this point she wasn't trying to be nice, now was she? She was just trying to talk to him. And this seemed to be the only way she knew how. She watched the back of his head hoping that he would turn around. If they were still dating she would have grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around, but now she waited patiently.
The air in-between the two seemed to have gotten stiffer, it was filled with all the emotions that were lost in a break-up. Astrid felt a tad bit of regret enter her stomach but ignored it, as she felt the anger overwhelming her. His anger, she knew that he would never think of her that way again. She had broken their relationship, and they would be enemies forever now. She had the sudden longing to see his face, to remember why she had dumped him. "Brandon, will you look at me?" Was the request too much, she wasn't used to common courtesy but she added a, "please" under her breath. The please because she didn't know how else to handle herself, and under her breath because she could just see him mocking her for it.
Now, standing waiting for him. She could felt a little of his anger transfer to her. Why was she angry? Because he was spreading rumors unjustly about her. She usually was able to ignore rumors like this. But when they were coming from someone you used to love like a little, they could be hurtful. She didn't want to look at his dark hair any longer, so she turned her gaze upward toward the whomping willow. It was perfectly still, well the leaves were blowing a little in the wind. But that was perfectly tree-like.
OOC: ooh, sorry, well this relationship will work as well. I'm kinda really excited for all this drama to go down.

Brandon was shocked at the sudden appearance of a frog in his throat. Was he this sad? Yes. It hurt to be rude to someone that he used to have major feelings for. It was the most confusing mix of emotions ever since he didn't want to be rude to her and felt utter sadness when he was, but he had to be rude to her because he had to force himself to not fall back into the trap of liking her again. He needed to be firm and he needed to be consistent because if he let her in even a little he knew she would take advantage of that. People talk and he hears and he's also seen as well, first hand. It's not something he wants to go through again and it's not something he will allow himself to fall for again.
He listened as she replied, "I don't want anything, but unfortunately I need to talk to you." He put his head down slightly. She needed to talk to him? About what? For how long did she want to talk to him for? He really didn't want to hear what she had to say because if she apologized and pleaded he may not have the strength to hold back. He was scared of what may happen with this conversation and didn't want to pursue it. He felt the tension that he was causing build up and he knew that it wouldn't be long before he turned around. He listened as she said, "Brandon, will you look at me?
[/color] That in itself would have allowed him to turn around, but it was the soft spoken "please"[/color] that got to him. She wasn't the most courteous person around so when words like that came out he knew she really wasn't herself. He stood up still facing the opposite direction. He shook off some of the excess grass from his butt and legs and turned around to see her. Beautiful as he had remembered. She just had this aura about her that caused her beauty to glow through her rudeness and toughness of a personality. He saw threw that but obviously it bit him in the ass. He crossed his arms and stood confidently and strong, not taking any steps near her yet, "I'm listening," was all he said. He wanted to see what she came here to say. She didn't look the way that Brandon had expected her too. She looked distraught and unsure. It was a weird light to see her in. Could this be a sincere thing? Would he fall back in love with her? He definitely was going to try as best he can to not even let that come close. Love is a tricky thing though and he didn't know when that stupid flying baby would shoot his arrows again. Note: Should be good haha We'll see how it goes I guess! P.S. sorry if I reply slowish over the next couple of days. Got a lot of stuff going on but I'll try my best to post here as soon as I can![/blockquote][/blockquote]

Was it a trick of the light, or did the tree branches move slightly, as if alive. She doubted she would be lucky enough to catch the real thing. It happened at the same moment that Brandon turned around, and her gaze lowered to his. She didn't need to study his face, one glimpse at it, and she remembered everything. Well everything except the expression that covered it now. It was not an emotion he she hadn't seen felt when they were together. But he did not hide it now, except with the attempt of sternness in his voice. He was listening. She wanted to say something logical or sweet, as to win his friendship. She wanted to talk to him properly, not on these guarded terms. But it didn't seem like he was going to let his walls down today.
She looked into his eyes while she spoke, "It's about the rumors going around". Astrid took a quick breath, and tried to catch his reaction. Was he the one spreading them? The answer was not in his dark eyes, so she looked down. After all Astrid could hardly stand to meet them. Through his eyes, she could almost see his soul. The same core that had she had toyed with. The same core that had been left broken, because of her. Now she was looking back on the pieces. Her eyes brushed over his cheekbones, and she took Brandon in. Sadly looking upon him, she remembered why she had come and continued, "I heard you were the one telling them." She waited for him to deny it. Her brain whispering, please deny it. Please, please deny it.
She looked back up, at the sad puppy of an ex-boyfriend and remembered all the reasons she had broken it off with him. Too this and too that. But none of those registered as really good reasons as she looked upon him, although they really were at the time. In fact, they were reasons that had drove her crazy and forced her to dump him without a warning. She had the ability to be ruthless, and she was sure she was. After all, she didn't think she would need him anymore.
Of course, she did she really need him now? And if she didn't need him, why was she here? Why didn't she turn around. Why did she care so much if Brandon was the one spreading rumors. She didn't care when other people did it. Had she cared for him? Had she secretly held some precious emotions for the boy. Her mind denied the thought, of course not. She's Astrid the heartless. She has a new boyfriend every few months, and she never cared for any of them after they ended so why should this one be any different? Oh right, it shouldn't.
OOC: I may be a little slow this week as well, I really shouldn't be on at all because I have finals. But a little of this helps me clear my mind so I can study.

With a deep look into his eyes, he watched as Astrid said, "It's about the rumors going around."
[/color] Once again, this girl had made so many emotions run through his body. Whatever rumours she was talking about obviously weren't in her favour. He listened as she continued "I heard you were the one telling them."[/color] He immediately felt disgust and anger. Firstly, he would have to know what these rumours were to truly be able to answer the question he knew she was hoping for. But what made it worse was that if it was the rumours that were the first to come to mind, why on earth would the people he told them to gossip about it. He was not one to start gossip at all and the "rumours" she was talking about was probably someone who knew the situation and decided to start something from it. He had some investigating to do. He began to speak, "I didn't start any rumours, Astrid" he said sternly and matter of factly. It was true, he didn't start any rumours. That was not the kind of person he was no matter how angered he was. "I told a couple of friends about what happened, as any person would do, and used some choice words to describe you, as any angered person would do. But I did not go around from person to person starting crap about you." If she knew him well enough she would know he's telling the truth, but he wasn't sure if she would believe him. "Yes, I told the story to many people and I guess these people have bigger mouths than I thought. I guess technically the rumours started from me but they weren't meant to be rumours." He said still sternly though he started realizing he wasn't making much sense. Too much was going on in his head for his sentences to come out and make enough sense to this girl. He looked at her and could sense some sadness. Did he care? Nor really. He had a heart and it was yelling to go and hug her and fix things but he couldn't do it. His mind was stronger than his heart today. "Though in all honesty, you deserved those rumours. Absolutely deserved them." This may have been harsh but he was just getting started. He felt tears coming on but held them back. She would not see him get emotional over this again. This angered him though and he raised his voice a bit, "If you didn't sleep with a different guy every week this wouldn't happen so in my eyes, Astrid, you did this to yourself." He stood by this statement. She did it to herself and she had no one to blame but her. Note: That's fine. I wouldn't be on the computer at all if I had exams! Haha [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Brandon's stern and defensive voice penetrated Astrid's bubble of safety. No, she had never loved the boy. Just used him to fill the hole where love should be. And now, she was mad that the thing that had once adored her didn't. She had expected him to always love her, but she should have known that the world doesn't work like that. She should have known that a boy like Brandon would be hurt and hate her and move on. Although with this knowledge she probably would have dumped him the same way.
Brandon told her he had done, and although it did sound like an honest mistake, she didn't want to let him off the hook. Her own anger burned and bubbled inside of her. She let it build up and as he criticized her the same way every person at Hogwarts did, she let it out. "Oh come on Brandon, don't try and justify this." It snapped out and she wasn't afraid to hurt his feelings anymore. After all, he had called her out, and now her mind registered him as just like the rest of them. Just like the rest of the school, who saw her as nothing more than a big slut. "Everyone knows I don't have morals, but it's you who caused this." Her voice raised and she was sure now that this wasn't going to be a pleasant conversation.
She shook her head slightly and looked down, taking a step toward him. Her voice turned into a hoarse whisper, "You're suppose to be a good guy, remember?" She couldn't help the step she took, even though she guessed that he would snap back at her. She almost lost her footing, in the heels she was wearing, and the stumble she felt afterward was hard to rebalance with her mind elsewhere.
Elsewhere, as in the conversation and the fact that Brandon knew she was self-destructively sleeping with every guy around. She wanted to crawl up in a hole, or to punch Brandon in the face. She choose the flight instead of fight option, and wanted to quickly reinforce an apology. But she didn't because she wasn't really into that stuff, and she worried that it would make her seem more desperate than she already did.

The moment that Brandon had finished speaking and Astrid replied was the moment that Brandon knew this would turn into a huge argument. Her voice suddenly got very defensive and stern as she snapped at him, "Oh come on Brandon, don't try and justify this. Everyone knows I don't have morals, but it's you who caused this."
[/color] Her voice escalated as she continued her sentences and he was watching her in a bit of shock. He wasn't expecting the person who came over here so shyly and awkwardly to begin yelling in this way. He also didn't appreciate her saying that he was the one who caused all this (while it may be partially true). What kind of insane person was Astrid? She then took a step toward him and said "You're suppose to be a good guy, remember?" The good guy? Those who actually knew Brandon knew that he was just as good of a guy as bad of a guy. He could definitely be seen as both in different lights. Just goes to show how much Astrid knew about him. He stood his ground not even replying to the fact that she took a step closer to him. But he started to retaliate, "Excuse me? You can't blame this on me. You were the one who started it by doing what you did" his voice rising and his hand gestures helping him with the conversation. He spoke with his hands when he was angry and started to point and yell with them in mid air. "You do it to yourself Astrid. You don't realize it (or maybe you do) but you do this all to yourself. Don't go blaming other people for stuff that YOU did. How dare you come down here and pin this on me?" There were so many words going on in his head right now that he didn't know which ones to shout out first, "Actions speak louder than words and if anyone should realize that it's you." He realized that by him telling some of his peers who he knew couldn't keep a secret was not necessarily a smart move on his part, but it was the actions that he had lived through first hand that hurt more than these words could. "Sticks and stones Astrid. Just remember that." Names will never hurt me. In Brandon's mind this just proved that Astrid cared more about herself than anyone else. She was willing to come down here and start a fight over something that had happened because of her own actions. Just because there were a couple rumours going around and now she was feeling sad. Would Brandon apologize? Absolutely not. He was happy they turned into rumours. Maybe others will be saved before they fell to the same fate he did.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

With an equal force, Brandon began to yell back at her. She felt herself crawl inside the pit of her stomach and watch the scene unfold. She knew that she had started the beginning of a fight and she didn't want to be the one who backed down. Astrid had the sickening want to roll her eyes at Brandon, it was the same stuff she had heard since the beginning of time. She was doing this to herself, she deserved this, and the list goes on.
She replied in a disgusted tone, "So it's your job to punish me for my mistakes?" She raised an eyebrow as she said this. And then, satisfied with her answer she continued, this time mocking Brandon. "Oh yes, everyone has their problems but let's spread Astrid's around school for everyone to see. Because that's fair isn't it?" She meant her last line as a question, she wanted his response now. She wanted him to feel sorry and to know that he had made a mistake. Although now she was contemplating that she made a bigger mistake.
Astrid knew how to turn around this situation, she had a talent for getting out of things. And Brandon would be an easy target. "I didn't come down here to fight with you." She wished she could fake a tear, but her calm soft voice would have to manage. "It's just that, I trusted you. And you let me down." Briefly, she wondered where this was coming from. It sounded distinctly like the truth, was she into that? She couldn't quite remember. She looked down at her shoes, and watched as they sparkled in the moonlight. She was too afraid to look Brandon in the eye now.
She wanted to walk away and never talk to the boy again, she felt a hole in her heart grow slightly. The place where love should be, but no one would ever love her. Because love didn't disappear. It was a permanent mark that connected you a person and made you think about them every day. She whispered, "I guess I know not to trust you anymore."

Brandon watched as Astrid became yet even more agitated. He knew that she was going to retaliate verbally with him but he did not want this to turn into a shouting match. He didn't feel like playing the blame game but obviously Astrid was down for some verbal fighting. He listened as she yelled, "So it's your job to punish me for my mistakes? Oh yes, everyone has their problems but let's spread Astrid's around school for everyone to see. Because that's fair isn't it?"
[/color] Now Brandon was getting very frustrated. She always made things about herself. She couldn't be more wrong and he was ready to snap back but listened more as she calmed down. "I didn't come down here to fight with you. It's just that, I trusted you. And you let me down. I guess I know not to trust you anymore." She said this in a much calmer and quieter voice than she had started this match with and he knew that she was starting to feel something. He wasn't sure what and it wasn't like her to be so understanding and sincere. This was an interesting case however and he was almost positive that she fully meant that. He couldn't help himself but to continue to speak his mind. "First of all," he started with the same enraged voice as he started with, "Don't you dare ask me a question about fairness. You don't play by the rules of fairness so why should I? You go around and emotionally hurt someone with actions that cause wounds that won't heal for a while, and then you come find me and start an argument asking me if I think it's fair that these rumours are going around? Are you kidding me?" He couldn't help to be stern and consistant. He was sickened by this entire argument. He wanted nothing more than to be an acquaintance with her but he was really doubting that would ever happen. "And this pity party isn't going to work on me," he continued lowering his voice but keeping his tone stern, "I believe that you didn't come down to fight but I don't know how you expected this to go well." He then watched as she averted her gaze. He kept eye contact with her to show that he really meant what he was about to say. He was going back and forth in his head with what he should continue with but the next line just kind of came out, "I couldn't care less if you trust me or not. I don't trust you anymore which shouldn't be at all surprising to you. Astrid, this entire thing could've been done so much better but it all leads back to you." He knew she wouldn't cry and he wasn't trying to make her, but after what she had done he couldn't help but feel less and less respect for her. It was sad but true. Notes: Wow, I actually feel a bit bad for Astrid. I didn't even mean to write some of that haha guess Brandon really had stuff to get off his chest. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Brandon began to backfire. The difference between her quieted voice and his booming tone caused her to feel like a she was loosing. She had tried to wave a white flag, but he kept shooting. The truth had been thrown in her face and she didn't know how to handle it. She assumed this was why she was backing down, because this situation wasn't expected. She wasn't ready for the questions and the screaming but most of all she wasn't ready for the voice doing it to be Brandon's.
Astrid ran a finger at the bottom of her stomach, she was closing her eyes now and concentrating on the feel of a very important scar. She didn't want to hear Brandon's voice because in every way he was right, but she thought somehow she was also right. She let him finish, and could tell that he had let something off his chest. Although she wasn't exactly sure what. His words were ringing in her head anyhow. She let silence fill the space before letting her own voice fire, "I didn't mean to hurt you." She had listened to everything he said, but his expression of being hurt was the only thing she had a response for. Her words were calm and reserved and slightly hurt.
A few seconds later she realized how touchy feely she was being and a little part of her began to panic. She didn't want to seem weak, the strength of not caring was the only strength she had left. Her throat was choking up and she wanted to let out and explain everything. But at the same time she wanted to take back that calm sweet sentence, so compromising she fired back at him. "Thank you for avenging your hurting heart, Brandon. I hope it made you feel better." Her defensive mood turned on and her hands sat on her hips. She had practically spit the words at him. "And thank you for reminding me of my mistakes. If I did it so wrongly, why don't you do it better."
Astrid took a breath, looked into his eyes, and seeing them again the words meant to be stern were only loud and crackled, "make me cry Brandon, don't take pity on the whore. She has no feelings and she has no heart." As if the words were magic themselves, her eyes teared up and she thought that they might fall for the first time since she was thirteen years old. She stared into his eyes as if she was on a mission. She wanted him to hurt her, so that she could go back to her dorm and be nothing to everyone again. And she wanted him to pull her into his arms so that she could be something to someone for once.
[/blockquote][/blockquote] OOC: haha, i'm getting pretty into this. i think that if we're going to have the whomping willow do something, this would be the time. it would be great if it threw a branch (punch thing) in just the right way that the two landed on top of each other or tried to protect each other from it (just throwing out suggestions). Brandon listened as Astrid became very moody. First she continued in her soft quiet tone saying very calmly how she had not meant to hurt him. He rolled his eyes at this but let her continue to talk. Whether this was a good idea or a bad idea he wasn't sure because she somehow gained more confidence and power and began to yell again at him. "Thank you for avenging your hurting heart, Brandon. I hope it made you feel better. And thank you for reminding me of my mistakes. If I did it so wrongly, why don't you do it better."
[/color] Brandon was completely taken aback by this and was very confused. He wasn't sure where she was going with this and wasn't sure if this was a plea of sarcasm or a taste of the truth. It may have been a mixture of both but, again it was hard to depict. He could've sworn that he heard a choked up version of her sentence and he was shocked that she may actually shed a tear. Was it possible? This Slytherin girl whom he had not seen ever even appear sad was now on the verge of tears. She continued, "make me cry Brandon, don't take pity on the whore. She has no feelings and she has no heart." He really was more confused than ever now and wasn't sure how to retaliate. This actually made him rethink a lot of what he was about to say and had planned to say. Maybe he should take a calmer approach now? He had no idea what to do so he just opened his mouth and let the words spill out. "First off I don't believe for a second that you cheated on me with the vision of me completely out of your head." He started, "There had to be a time when you thought of me and how I would feel and the fact that you didn't stop proves you meant to hurt me so I don't buy that at all." It was true. Whether she was telling the truth or lieing about that he didn't know, however, he was not going to believe it in the slightest. "Secondly, this attitude is very shallow of you. You're trying to make me feel bad now and I don't deserve that so I'm sorry but I can't stand here anymore and listen to it." He was just getting more and more mad and the attitude she was giving off with her hands on her hips and her sarcastic flow just made him want to leave now more than ever. What was staying going to do. "Goodbye Astrid," he said as he turned around and started walking away. He was done with the conversation. Just as he had taken a couple of steps however he thought he heard some rustling from above. He looked up only to see a giant branch hurling towards the ground, aiming to land on top of him. He hurled himself forward into a somersault roll allowing him to stand up upon completion. He looked at the branch that had just came from above. The Whomping Willow lives? This is what he had hoped to seen this whole time. He was happy but only for a split second. It didn't take him long to realize that the willow was annoyed and looking for trouble. Had their arguing caused this? Had they awoken the monster within the tree? He was now nervous about this and didn't know what to do. He looked up again and saw a vine swing towards Astrid from behind. Shoot shoot shoot! He would've ran over there and pushed her out of the way but there was not enough time for him to do that. "ASTRID LOOK OUT" he said pointing behind her. Just as he had said that though a branch came flying towards him and he didn't have enough time to react. "UGH" he said at impact and the branch tossed him to his back. He sat up with his hands on the ground and knees facing the sky. This was getting dangerous and they needed to get out of there as soon as possible. Notes: Okay so a couple of things. I wasn't sure if how to start it so I kind of just...did haha I think this is going to make the thread even more fun for sure! Also I apologize if Astrid wasn't being sarcastic or showing attitude but it was a little hard for me to decide haha so I kind of just went with the way I read it the first time. I like your idea as well! haha [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Astrid listened intensely as the rest of the world was blurred because of coming tears. He wouldn't give in to her crazy games, he never had. Astrid knew that he was about to walk away from her. She was going to be left crying under this magical tree. She could imagine it watching them and thinking how stupid humans were. But this imagination only lasted a second because her attention was pulled back to Brandon. He talked, but the words were blurred by the fact that she didn't want to listen anymore. She was prepared to break down by herself as he began walking away.
Something must have changed between the second he was walking away and her tears began rolling because the next thing she knew, he was screaming at her. A different type of scream, the quick 'look out' only prompted her to look at him, questioning what he meant. The vine caught her from behind and swung her a good ten feet into the air. She was far too surprised and scared to scream. Any chance of tears wiped away with the splash of hard wind. She spotted Brandon sitting up after an impact of a branch and realized she was about to fall on top of him.
"Brandon!" She landed a foot away and quickly the wind was knocked out of her. Her body rolled until she hit Brandon, and she laid on her back trying to breathe. When you get the wind knocked out of you, your diaphragm has a spasm and cannot get air to your lungs. Astrid did not know this, she put one of her hands to her chest and watched as the tree above rustled and got ready to swing a branch down on top of the two. She sat up and got ready to move, suddenly more interested in not getting crushed then getting her breathing pattern back to normal.
She could hardly stand up, her back was toppled over. She was trying her hardest to breathe and to run. But she couldn't focus on it. She looked to Brandon for help getting up, quickly as the branch began to swing down.
[/blockquote][/blockquote] OOC: The first two lines were sarcastic, the third not. haha, i'll try and explain next time. Also, I didn't realize Astrid had cheated on Brandon, so I wasn't quite sure how Astrid should react. [/blockquote]
