A yawn crept out of Maxwell's mouth as he rolled over in his small bed. A panicked yelp quickly followed as he tumbled to the floor, tearing the curtain that surrounded his new sleeping quarters. He quickly collected himself, stood up, and brushed his hair back, happy to see that everyone else in his dorm had already left for the day. He walked over to his sidetable and picked up his watch. It read 11:30am; Max had managed to sleep in yet again. Lucky for him, today was Saturday. He yawned once more, stretching his arms out wide, before digging through his clothes on the floor for his wand. Once he managed to find it, he quickly repaired the curtain he manged to rip, before making his way to the showers to begin his day.
A short while later, Max made his way out of the deserted common room, excited to see what the day would hold. He decided to surpress that small amount of hunger he was feeling as he had managed to miss the last of breakfast while getting ready. Instead he would spend a short while reading his new 'History of Magic' textbook by the Waterfalls, only his favorite location on the Hogwarts grounds. The day was just warm enough to wear a pair of blue jean shorts and a red t-shirt. He wanted people to know he was in Gryffindor, it was more of a status to Max than anything. As he made his way down the multiple staircases, past the Great Hall, and out through the Entrance Hall he whistled Toil and Trouble, still burned into his mind from the Welcoming Feast held just a few short days before. It was one of those songs that never left your mind.
Matt quickly approached the usually roaring falls, to see them only rushing gently, an unusual sight as the falls are usually, well...roaring. He shrugged it off, and pulled his shoes off, and left them at the small pool's edge with his messenger bag. He dipped his toes into the cool water and shivered. He would get used to it, so he took refuge on a large rock along the edge, and began to read Chapter 12: Who Can and Can't Use Wands, a Timeline.

Oh Saturdays, how glorious. Aisling was the type of girl who loved classes because she had an insatiable curiosity and was raised never to be a failure or besmirch the pride of herself or her family, but there was something just magical about a free day. And this particular one was beyond gorgeous. She was pleased as punch when she awoke with the rising sun and sneaked quietly out of her dorm room to take it all in. Whenever possible, the small girl loved spending her days outside in nature as it reminded her of life back home on the western coast of Ireland.
Forests were some of her favorite things because there were too many near her home. The Burren, where Aisling spent her entire life was actually a giant geological formation of sandstone. If she wanted forests, Aisling had to go to the refurbished pine forests further up. They were a ways from her home, so she didn't often venture there. But here in Hogwarts, finding forests, and treasures or surprises inside was much easier. Today's adventure brought her to the waterfalls. She had seen them time and time before, and they always took her breath away. The sound of the water crashing reminded her of the ocean against the Cliffs of Moher, except quieter. This place held its own beauty, though. Watching a cascade of liquid twinkling bright light stained green by leaves was irreplaceable and calming. Aisling was happy that her wanderings led her here today.
She had spent most of her morning just lying in the grass near the pool. The water was quite chilly after basking in just the cold moon's light over night so she wasn't willing to dip in at the moment. Instead, she let the morning sun warm her skin, toasting it slightly, although no matter how hard she tried, the girl never managed more than a light tan. Her skin almost always remained porcelain.
Once a few hours passed, Aisling slipped a bare foot into the water and found it pleasing enough and let her body slide along the grassy bank until she was submerged in the crystalline water. It was still a little chilly but Aisling adjusted quickly and was soon swimming and splashing around like a little mermaid. But one can only swim for so long before feeling fatigued and so the petite teenager swam behind the falls and pulled herself up on the ledge. The world beyond the falling water looked very different, almost as if she were watching it from underwater with the ability to still breathe. And that's when she saw someone appear amongst the trees leading to the natural wonder.
Aisling observed them... a him by the looks of it. A red shirt stood out in the green. He was unaccompanied and didn't seem to notice that she was there. He probably wasn't expecting anyone to be there. She did not when she got here.
She watched as he took a seat on a rock near the edge. It looked like he had something in his hands... a book? It was hard to tell. Aisling creeped to the edge closest to him and yelled out loudly enough to compensate for the roaring of the falls.
"Hello!"
It would have been horrible had she not done this. No one would appreciate someone seemingly apparate out of thin air on Hogwarts. It was magically impossible. Although sometimes socially aloof, Aisling did know it was best not to frighten people.

As he peeled the first page back, he felt his mind quickly wander from his current task. No matter how hard he tried, he knew that trying to study in any environment but a classroom was nearly impossible. He needed a real distraction from his boring textbook and he thought that enjoying one of the last warm days that Hogwart's September had brought would do the job. Unfortunately, the beautiful day wasn't doing what he wanted it to and his wandering mind made Maxwell even more vulnerable to the infectious boredom he was experiencing. He honestly could care less about who was and wasn't allowed to use a wand in 1746, but he was confident his Professor would.
"Hello!"
Without warning a muffled yell caught Max's attention. He raised focused his eyes away from his book and scanned the area. A girl, although he couldn't identify exactly who, was laying in the grass only a short distance away from him. The only thing he could see for sure was her long hair. He smiled in her direction, though he knew she probably wouldn't be able to see it, and snapped his book shut.
As he slid off the side of the rock he was residing on, he casually walked over to the unknown girl, the distraction that he definitely needed from History of Magic. Max was a very social and friendly guy and looked forward to making friends with people all over Hogwarts. This would be no exception.
"Hey there!" He called out a little louder then usual, compensating for the waterfall's obnoxious volume. "The name is Max. Sixth Year Gryffindor." He said enthusiastically, now much closer to the girl, who quickly became more and more beautiful as he approached her. As she grew more attractive in his eyes, she also grew more recognizable. From what he recalled over the years, a Ravenclaw, although the name escaped his mind. He thought that hopefully his greeting would prompt her own.
Unsure of what to do next, he found himself taking a seat in front of her, hoping in his mind that he wasn't intruding, but persistent in his attempt to not do any school work on his trip to the grounds today. [/size]
