[/IMG] Thelma walked into her classroom about twenty minutes before the class started. She defiantly had a thing for being early, and a huge hate for being late. It was rude, that’s why two years ago she had charmed the door to lock when the class was supposed to start. When she had first done this she had taken a lot of heat for it, from other teachers, and staff members. But overall the system worked, it stopped kids from being late. Pulling out her wand, and feeling the warmth enter her hand as she gripped it like when she bought it all those years ago. She muttered a spell under her breath and started writing on the chalkboard.
It was a few minutes later when Thelma finished writing the instructions on the white board. They read, Take a seat. Pull out a piece of parchment and a quill, and be ready to take notes . Thelma had very neat loopy writing that was easy to read. Taking a seat on her large black office char that had been a gift from her parents when she first started to teach. It was worn in all the right places which made it uber comfortable to sit on. There were still about six minutes till’ class started and the early comers were starting to come in. Thelma flashed them a smile, “Good Morning, nice to see you.” Inside Thelma knew perfectly well he class wasn’t excited to see her, it was the first class of the morning, after a weekend, the kids would defiantly be started.
Thelma started to give her individual greetings to students as they walked in and sat down. There were about four more minutes till’ the door would be locked and the students outside would be out of luck. More and more kids were walking in, Thelma recognized every last one of them. She liked to make her kids feel special and she had quickly learned all their names from the first day of their first year.
It was now time for the One minute straglers to come in. They did this every time there was class they would come into class with barley seconds to spare. Thelma wasn’t sure if they did it to make her angry, or if they just liked the feeling of almost being late. With a slam of a door and a click of about fifty locks the class had begun, and Thelma was ready.
“If you haven’t read the instructions on the board yet, please do it now,” Thelma heard the fumbling of the students hurrying to get their stuff out. “Today we will be learning about the Patronus Charm,” Thelma said with a smile, this was her favorite day of the year. She usually started the year out with this lesson, it got the students listening, and interested. Personally Thelma’s patrouns was a tabby cat, she had first produced it in her fourth year at Hogwarts. “Now who can tell me what the Patronus charm is?”

She'd started off with doing some inquiries for part-time jobs in the village, and continued with making a long time-table to see if she'd be able to fit it into her schedule, but it hadnt taken her much time to realize that with so many classes, homework, prefect duties, and OWL studying, she was not likely to have much time to breathe, let alone continue another part-time job. After that, her weekend had gone in doing exactly the above things - doing homework, they'd had a fair bit in Transfiguration, and then patrolling around at night a bit, and then studying as much as she possibly could before Monday so her week's schedule could be a little lighter.
But it was a satisfied Arianne who entered Charms class on monday morning - she'd had an excellent week, worked really hard on her weekend, and because she hadnt had prefect duties the previous night she hadnt even had to stay up too late, and she looked rested, happy and even excited for her first charms class. The others around her looked a little tired - perhaps because of the preparations for the bonfire that was coming up. Arianne really hadnt had much involvement in that - even if she wasnt too busy, fireworks, camping out, and swimming did not hold much sway with the little Ravenclaw.
She was early, as always, though today not by much because she'd woken up a little bit early. Still, she was lucky enough to grab a place in the first row, which was her preferred place to sit. She sat down and pulled out her books, arranging them in the perfect way that she always loved to arrange them - her wand on the right side, books on the left, her quill and ink pot on the top, and just enough place in the center to keep one book open. For the perfectionist Ravenclaw, this neat arrangement had never really changed. She settled down, and then greeted her Professor with a smile and a "Good morning." She looked at the instructions on the board, and quickly removed a piece of parchment from her bag, took her quill in her hand, and looked poised to write.
I t was not long before the class started. The Professor asked about the Patronus charm, which Arianne had read about briefly as preparation for her class, though not enough detail to have tried it as she had heard it was quite a complex charm. Still, she did know enough to raise her hand almost immediately, and she smiled when the Professor called on her, though as always she felt the stirrings of nervousness. What if her answer was incorrect? Still, she started speaking. "The patronus charm is a charm to ward off dementors, which can also be used as communication medium by those powerful enough to achieve that. Its an advanced charm based on a happy memory." She said all that in a single breath, and then stopped.

Post by Kenny Micheal Templeson on May 21, 2011 20:23:39 GMT -5
The Weekend had just went by as usual and yet for Kenny it seemed as if it should have been longer for the Hufflepuff. The day was Monday which meant it was time for Kenny’s first day of Charms class at Hogwarts which was one of his favorite classes. It was hard to get settled in his schedule for his 5th year as he was also busy getting prepared for his other classes that he was familiar with and classes that are all new to him though he did took a small relaxing break over the weekend so that he would not feel too much stressed out over being prepared for the classes.
With a calm attitude and a smile on his face Kenny made his way to the third floor to one of favorite classes Charms as he checked his supplies to make sure nothing was missing as always letting out a calm sigh of relief as he continued on to the hallway to the class. However he realized that now he was in his 5th year he knew now that the course was now going to be a bit more challenging than it was for the past years that he was in Hogwarts.
As Kenny entered the classroom early in the morning he found a seat on his favorite row which was the first row so that he can manage to pay attention to what the professor will teach the class what will be on Charms on the first day. He took his seat and set his supplies down while getting out the required class supplies for today as he waited on for class to start and waved at the professor in a friendly manner hoping not to cause any trouble at all on his first day in this class.
The class had finally begun with the Professor asking the students about a charm known as the Patronus Charm. Kenny had knew about the charm and wanted to answer away but looked around to see if most of the students knew the answer. He noticed that many of the kids were not familiar with the charm and decided to give it a shot by raising his hand and waiting for the professor to acknowledge him. Kenny then smiled when the professor called his name as he cleared his throat and begin speaking. “The Patronus Charm is a charm that is based on memories that are positive such as joy or even hope. It can be used to ward off dementors and can appear silvery, ethereal or in semi-transparent when conjured up.” he said as he finished with a grin on his face.

Charms! Scarlett Viceroy was without doubt excited at the thought of her first day of Charms. It was without question one of Scarlett's most favorite classes, Divination and Potions be two of the others. As Scarlett ran a brush through her fiery hair she glanced at the ornate clock that sat on her vanity and screamed...
This being her sixth year at Hogwarts and her sixth year of Charms she knew better than some the consequences of arriving late to class for Professor Ataman. Scarlett grabbed her bag stuffing it full of everything she might need and dashed down through the towers til she came upon her designated classroom...
Scarlett breathed a huge sigh of relief as she opened the door, knowing that she wasn't late and with a quick glance around the room she could be considered a bit early. Only two other students had arrived to class as she entered the room smiling sweetly to Professor Ataman and warmly greeting her with a sweet good morning and hello...
Making her way closer to the front of the class, Scarlett studied the two students who had already begun taking notes and had been rather settled in. The boy to her left looked rather young with his dirty blonde hair hanging around his head in a boyish bowl style cut. She paused for a moment sensing a bit of nerves from his aura and turned to her attention to the other student, the girl...
Books perfectly stacked. Wand neatly placed at the side. Front Row seat...she had to be Ravenclaw, Scarlett mused to herself with a half grin spreading across her lips. She decided on a seat in the second row, and sat her bag at her feet as she sat down and pulled out what she needed, including her favorite quill, one fine Peacock feather. It's plumage was unique in it's colors and stood out from the rest and that's how Scarlett liked it...
She softly smiled to either of the students when they looked her way and then began taking the notes, quickly filling up her parchment with her very round cursive writing. When the professor addressed the class with the first topic of the day Scarlett's eyes sparkled and her face beamed. "Now who can tell me what the Patronus Charm is?" asked Professor Ataman and Scarlett immediately raised her hand and waited to be called upon...
Both the girl to her right and the boy on her left took their turns with the question and Scarlett's eyes grew wider as she knew there was at least one thing they were both leaving out, one part that she loved about the Patronus Charm. Finally, Professor Ataman called Scarlett's name and she smiled graciously as she twirled her quill between her fingers...
"The Patronus Charm is an extremely complex charm of advanced magic to master. It is a positive force that works similar to a shield against dark creatures such as Dementors and Lethifolds...the charm itself when conjured takes on the form of an animal that often reflects the personality or feelings of the witch or wizard who conjured it. It's also important to note that your Patronus can be greatly effected by your emotional state at the time of conjuring, making the charm more or less effective to the witch or wizard."...
Scarlett let her quill tickle over her chin as she smiled brightly with a soft breath after giving her answer. One she was extremely proud of...it had been a long answer and she was far from a know it all but her love for Charms made her push herself to be an excellent student in the class. It was the first day of Charms for the semester and Scarlett saw only good things coming out of it now.

Riley loves charms. It had always been one of her favorite, since she was a first year. Most of it came naturally, and since Riley didn't feel like she had many natural talents, she was always working to get better on it, paying more attention then to any other class, not letting her mind drift as it often did, practicing after class, reading course books during the summer. In fact, reading course books was probably the only thing getting her through the summer. When it was really bad, younger kids being brats, older ones jerks, and her foster parents avoiding her at all costs, she could just go out on the lawn, and read. Well, until someone found her, and then she'd have to stuff her book out of sight and go back to the muggle world. Thus, she always left early for Charms class, wanting to be there in plenty of time, so she could always make a good impression on her professor. However, with all these thought flurrying through Riley's head, she hadn't noticed the staircase moving while she climbed it. He being early plan, just turned into try not to be late and locked out, plan. She rushed down the stairs, messenger back clutched at her side, hair flying behind her. She finally reached the classroom, and literally slipped in just as the door was about to close. She took her seat, holding her breath so she wouldn't pant. Setting down her things, her cheeks went red as she felt eyes on her. She was blushing. Something Riley did not do often. When she heard the teacher's question, her hand shot up, but she brought it down slowly as others answered. Glancing up at the board for the first time, she pulled out parchment and a quill, then looked up to her professor, wide green-gray eyes expectant. She got out her things that she needed for the class and sat there in attention. She did not choose to raise her hand when the question was answered, though she could have. She was kind of strange that way. She was extremely smart, but she hardly ever spoke out in class or whatever. She just wasn't into becoming a teacher's pet or putting herself out there. She studied hard and got good grades and that was enough for her.
It wasn't that she despised teachers. Some she thought taught very well and she'd come to appreciate all of her professor's different teaching styles. But she'd been subjected to adult's attention all of her life, and they'd all found her lacking. She had no desire to let a professor praise her and then ever have a reason to find her coming up short. So, she mostly just kept to herself in class and studied up a storm to prove that she was as worthy as any of the students who actually participated in class and answered the questions. If the professors asked her questions she gave answers, and most of the time they were the right answers. But other then that, she didn't feel the need to.
She gave a brief smile to Riley as she slipped inside the room. But other then that, her attention was rapt on the professor, ready to learn and start this new year off. She had always been fond of Charms, and was anxious to learn whatever could be taught this year, and to get ready for the O.W.L's.
They had just this year and their O.W.L's would be upon them before they knew it. Kadie could hardly believe that it was here, but she was anxious and excited to prove herself. She was glad that she still had some months to prepare though. It was a bit overwhelming and it was important to her to do the best that she could. If that meant participating more in class and losing this weird thing that she viewed the professor's with, she would get rid of it. She'd do anything she could to get those top grades. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

He went to the back and sat down. He got his book out, which for him was actually good. But he knew he couldn't promise paying attention. Although, the new professor was some kind of fine so he might just pay attention for that.
He noticed all of the other smart kids raptly paying attention. Including Ms. Kadie Taylor who was some kind of fine, and could quite possibly have been even sexier if she wasn't such a stick in the mud. Still, the hair change was definitely hot. He'd been a bit confused as to why Marcus had been so attracted to the girl. Since blonds had never been his deal. But she'd had potential when she was actually with Marcus last year. He had no idea what had happened to that, but he could see that she was back to her bookish ways. Honestly, he had no clue why she hadn't been sorted into Ravenclaw. And then Ms. Riley Sage, another Gryffindor girl who couldn't stand him. They'd gotten off to the wrong foot. But that red hair, and when she was all fired up and it was directed at him? Yum. He then looked over at Scarlett, who was some kind of fine, and yet another Gryffindor girl.
Arianne. He wasn't surprised that she was one of the ones who gave the right answer. He paid no attention whatsoever to Kenny or the other guys in here. He was scoping out the ladies, which was what he always did in every class. Girls were extremely important to him, okay? There was nothing wrong with that. He was just being a typical male.
It would do him well if he would pay attention instead of thinking about the girls that were in this classroom. But he couldn't help it. Which one should he try to flirt with after class? Ms. Taylor would definitely be able to hold her own. And she was definitely sexy. Especially with the hair change. But she'd probably leave class with James Rivers, and wouldn't look back at him. He was sure he could win any competition, but things had gotten sticky with Kadie and his friend Marcus. And Jacks didn't want any stickiness from any of the girls. He just wanted some action. Arianne probably wouldn't give him the time of day. Besides, his sights were set on Liberty in that house. He couldn't try to tap two girls at once in that house. That was a big no no.
Maybe he should just concentrate on one girl at a time. That way Liberty wouldn't hear any rumors and she would really think that he'd changed. But this was just his habit to scope out the girls in every class. He couldn't just start now because he was trying to woo a challenging girl. So he could look. It would be hard not to flirt, but he was determined to woo this particular girl, and he would not fail. But what else could he do during class? Actually listen? Maybe so. Maybe he'd try for once

He had only just made it in time and he really didn't know why he was so late in the first place. He was usually pretty punctual but for whatever reason this was just not his day. He looked around the room that he had just walked into and gave a small nod to the professor standing at the front. He remembered her from past years as she had taught them before. He liked her as a professor though there were times she could be quite annoying. Though all professors were at some point. He sat down at a desk near the far right of the room and put his charms books on his desk. He recognized a lot of the faces that were around the room from other classes and/or from the hallways of the school. When you get in to the higher years at Hogwarts everyone starts to kind of look familiar to you, even if you have never actually spoken to them before. He did notice Arianne though sitting in the classroom. She was a fellow fifth year Ravenclaw that he had spoken to at The Leaky Cauldron while on his break. Sweet girl. He also noticed the smoker Jackson from Slytherin and was kind of shocked he went to classes, but he wasn't a terribly bad guy once you got to know him. There was probably much he didn't know yet about him. The other people in the class he had not formally met yet but he had seen quite a bit out and about.
Charms was one of Brandon's favourite classes. He thought it was pretty interesting how only a word and a hand motion could produce such strong spells. It was quite interesting. This and Defense Against the Dark Arts seemed to (though covering different material) overlap sometimes which made things a bit easier. He listened to the voices in the class talking about the lesson and realized that it was The Patronus charm that they will be learning today. From what he knew about it, this spell was really neat and he was now even more excited to begin. What a great way to start off fifth year classes. He listened as a couple of people (girls no doubt) had started to answer the professors question for a definition on the spell. Some people were very educated already on this and, although he knew the basics of what it did, Brandon couldn't say that he knew as much as they did. That was pretty impressive and he became anxious to get to the hands on stuff the more he listened to these girls' explanations.
He knew he had to pay careful attention this year more than any other purely because he had O.W.L's this year. He was really nervous for them since they were so intense (so he heard) and he wanted to be as ready as he possibly could be for them. He knew that he would have to actually study really hard and really well for these but he was hoping that it would just be as any other test and he would be able to remember answers to questions and get a great mark. It was more or less just a big final so there was a good chance he could get himself into that mindset. We'll see I guess.

Post by Cassandra Lynn Murphy on May 22, 2011 17:43:15 GMT -5
Cassandra entered the classroom about 5 minutes before class began and found a seat towards the middle of the class room. Last night had been a long night since she had stayed up all night. Her sleeping patterns had gotten worse this last weekend. Last time she slept was sunday morning from like 3am until 10am. So seven hours and then she was up again all last night. There was no need for her to be awake for so long since she wasn't stressed but for some reason she always had something on her mind. Luckily she did not look bad at all, in fact the only real sign that she had been up all night were the bags under her eyes. Other than that her hair looked perfectly straight and she actually put on some make up, just like some eyeliner and mascara like any other 15 year old.
She could see the board from where she was sitting and quickly got out some parchment and got ready to take notes for the class. She took very good notes since it kept her focus and made homework easier. When the professor spoke she wrote down petronus charm and what it was. The rest of her day looked pretty boring and uneventful. In class she was already pretty focused on the class and did well in school since she wanted a good job after she graduated. What job she wanted she did not quite know. Her mind changed often like sometimes she wanted to work in her fathers potion shop and take it over after he retires. After all she did love potions but realistically she didnt want to own a business.
She glanced down for a second and adjusted her skirt and pulled her socks up to her knees since both of them slipped down. Last time she was home she got knew socks that were within regulations but had black and green stripes. She loved them since they had her house colors and they were new. Since it was just her and her father they did not have a mass amount of money so she tended to buy used things. Her plan was to get a job soon and buy some cool new things so she'd fit in with her house a bit better. Quickly she glanced up at the teacher and continued to write notes.

Riley, who had been trying to pay attention to class, but with her wandering mind, that was hard, glanced up and smiled as well, in response to Kadie's. Riley didn't know her the greatest, but she considered them friends. Riley pretty much considered everyone friend, though, so that wasn't saying much. But the girl was a fellow Gryffindor, after all.
Shuffling through her parchment, which she just realized was already filled with notes from a previous class (Wow, she was spacey today, wasn't she?), she got out a new piece, and a new quill, all though she wasn't quite sure why. She just had odd habits like that. Setting everything out on her desk, in an orderly fashion, Riley suddenly felt eyes on her, and she turned to see Jackson. He looked away just as she looked at him, so she doubted he had seen her looking, not that she really cared. Although she preferred not to cause confrontation, especially since she probably would've been the one causing it. She hated liars, and people who used others. That right there, in her mind, was the perfect description of Jackson Michaels, Slytherin bad boy. However, as much as she hated to admit it, he was pretty handsome. Not that it made a big difference to Riley, but people do tend to get better first impressions of handsome or beautiful people, then ugly one's. Well, if anyone has a semi-decent personality, anyways. Which Jackson certainly doesn't.
Let's just say, Riley isn't a big fan of Jackson. Looking away, she frowned, and then hoped he didn't see her looking. He'd probably be a jerk about it, or just completely ignore her. Riley wasn't sure what would hurt her more. She was ignored at Foster Care all the time, and that might be worse then being made fun off. Both were bad.

[/IMG] Thelma was excited to see her class, back from break, and ready to learn. She was surprised to hear that the answers given were accurate; they didn’t leave her with much to explain. She could still show them, but first the students who had answered were in order for some well earned house points. “Very nice, you three. Ms. Lane take four points for Ravenclaw. Mr. Templeson also take four points for Hufflepuff.” Thelma beamed inside it was nice to see students from her alum house giving answers; of course in a non-bias way. “And finally, Ms. Viceroy, take eight for Gryffindor for hitting it spot on.” Students knowing the right answer made Thelma’s job as a teacher all worth it.
“Everyone write down what your peers just said.” Thelma gave them a few minutes to write before she moved onto her next point. “Before I go on, I’m going to show you a Patronus, and give you all a chance to try it.” Pulling her wand off her desk she gave the class a smile. “Expecto Patronum,” Thelma thought of her first day of teaching a small tabby cat shot out of her wand, and started walking around near Thelma’s feet.
With a wave of her wand the cat was gone. With a few traces of silvery mist still in the air. “Now that class was a Patronus.” Thelma had done this lesson every year since she started teaching, and it had never failed, it always kept the students attention, and made them want to learn. “Now everyone it’s your turn, pull out your wands and stand up.” Thelma would be impressed if any of the students got it. The charm was advanced, Thelma struggled with it, and she was the charms teacher. She was excited to see the results. "Give it a try!"
[OCC – Go ahead and give it try, remember this is a complex spell just because Harry was a Marry-Sue, doesn’t mean you have to be, not everyone is going to get it, maybe only a few, but please don’t say your character has had it masters since they were in third year, it’s not plausible, thanks. Post with your character doing the spell and what happens then wait till I post again. REMEMBER only post once per my post, I noticed some people didn’t do this. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -LITTLE DARLING, THE SMILES RETURNING TO THE FACESlittle darling, it seems like years since it's been here- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Arianne spent some time scribbling neat but quick notes on her piece of parchment. The black ink seemed to move smoothly over the parchment as she wrote everything the others has said - especially what Scarlett had said, as it had been perfect and Arianne liked perfection, even when it was not hers. She added a few more notes from memory on stuff that she had studied about the spell, and then included its incantation and wand movement in a neat little box so that it would be easier for her to remember. Everything Arianne did was beautifully neat and organized, which was just the way she liked it. She had seem some truly messy notes - especially when she'd borrowed some after falling ill in her 2nd year, and she had realized that studying from those was not her thing. Not at all.
She watched, fascinated, as the professor made a beautiful cat appear from her wand - a silver creature of pure beauty. Since she had been young, magic had fascinated Arianne - she loved to watch it being done by others, preferably people more proficient than her, and this was no exception. She wondered, idly, what hers would be - apparently it had something to do with personality, and she sincerely hoped it was not going to be something awful like a grasshopper or a rat or a snake - though on reflection something meek like a rat was probably going to be what she got. Still, she hoped in her heart that it would be something pretty and graceful like the Professor's cat.
A moment later, she had been asked to do it herself. She got up from her place, and concentrated on a happy memory. Wait. A happy memory? She racked her brain and decided to concentrate on the first O she'd gotten in History of Magic - yes, that had been pretty happy - even though it had been more relief than happiness. She concentrated on the memory...bringing it to the forefront of her mind, and said the words, "Expecto Patronum." And nothing happened, but then, she had not expected it to. Arianne was not the wizard who got spells on the first try - at best, she got them after about half a hundred tries, and then also she was never as powerful as the others in the field.
She tried again, after re-checking the incantation and the wand movement. It yielded no result. She took a deep breath, and changed the memory to her last birthday, when Liberty and a few people had given her a surprise. Yes, that had been a good memory indeed. She thought about what had happened, and finally smiled a bit, and tried again. "Expecto patronum." Nope. Nothing happened, not even a spark. She tried one more time, trying to switch her wand movement a bit, but that led to even less result than before - was it possible to get less of a result than no result? She wasnt completely sure. She stopped thinking about such things and instead concentrated on her memory, wondering if she needed a better one. She could remember her friends at 12 in the room - she hadnt been expecting them, her mother never gave much importance to birthdays - the smiles, the cake, the food - and she felt a similar feeling of elation that she'd felt that day. "Expecto patronum!" she said, with a smile, and finally, a very tiny wisp of white appeared. She smiled wider. It was not much, in fact, it was less than much - but at least it was a start.
She lifted her wand to continue practice, and she was able to replicate the tiny wisp about 2 out of 10 times, and nothing better. She sighed and contined practicing.

Firstly, who in their right mind would put a lesson first thing on a Monday morning? James was sure that was actually violating some kind of human rights. He wasn't sure which ones but would get Kadie to look into it for him.
Secondly who locked the door when the class had started?! That seemed to go beyond unfair. Especially as it was a Monday morning, everyone knew Monday was the hardest day to get out of bed. If you were so much as a minute late you'd gone to all the trouble of actually getting up on a Monday morning only to find a locked door metaphorically slammed in your face. Unbelievable.
So, with these thoughts in mind, James raced to Charms class. The watch which lived on his wrist screamed at him to get a move on or he'd be late. Literally. It was a magic watch which had been a Christmas present from his grandmother. James loved it and those who like their facial features arranged as they should be, learned to love it too. Learned very quickly.
With a minute to spare, James made it into the classroom, the watch puffing, out of (for want of a better word) breath. The exhilaration of the run and making it to class with little time to spare gave him a buzz he knew he shouldn't enjoy. It was like a bludger he hadn't seen narrowly missing his head in a match. The thrill of not getting caught!
He took his place next to Kadie in the middle of the classroom and after a quick scan of the board, removed his scruffy, ink stained, note pad, a half empty bottle of ink and a navy blue quill from his tatty bag. Hopefully today would be a practical lesson. James was quickly bored by theory and tended to switch off and start misbehaving in such lessons. Practical usually kept him entertained for longer although if he couldn't get the spell or got it straight away, this usually led to the inevitable boredom as well.
The Gryffindor listened to three of his peers give answers to the question posed by Professor Ataman. Well, this didn't sounds like a very exciting lesson at all. From where James was sitting he couldn't see Jackson Michaels but was pretty sure he didn't need to. Usually the prat sat at the back to check out the girls. The skeeze. James flipped his pad to an empty page and began trying to doodle the most interesting and painful way for Jackson to lose his, ahem, man parts.
Aha! Finally! Some prctical work! James stood with the rest of the class and watched a spectular amount of nothing happen on everyone else's first few goes. Not even Ravenclaws were getting this stuff right! James had a little chuckle to himself before concentrating with cracking the charm. First he tried to think of a happy memory.
Well, nothing with his parents. He loved his Grandma but memories with her were nice and comfortable. He wouldn't exactly call them the happiest of his life though. No, there was only one was he'd make a truely brilliant patronus and that was with some memory of Hogwarts. It took James very little time to realise that all of his happiest memories here were with Kadie. He had to keep himself from laughing out loud a couple of times, trawling through the colection of memories he held of the two of them.
Eventually he picked th first game of Quidditch he and Kadie had won for Gryffindor together. They had celebrated as an entire house in the common room well into the night and both James and Kadie were lavished along with the rest of the team. He cleared his throat and spoke the incantation. A spectacular shiney white nothing happened. James sighed and screwing his eyes up tight, concentrating really hard on the memory and not on dinner... ooh, maybe it would be chicken... No! Happy memory, he tried again. After a second he risked a look. Yes! Nothing!
James sighed and cleched his fist. Stupid spell was rubbish. After twenty minutes of huffing and sighing, James has managed the thinnest thread of pathetic white vapour out his wand. Oh, how he loved to learn!

Jackson Michaels for sure. He always practically undressed all of the girls in the class. And it made her really uncomfortable wondering how much Marcus had told him. They'd been friends of course, Marcus and Jacks that is. And Kadie had slept with Marcus, so she had to wonder what Marcus had told that idiot. But, it was Jackson Michaels. And he would be a sleeze and imagine things anyway. She wondered what poor girl he had picked out now. Hopefully not anybody she knew, or she'd do something about it.
She smiled at James as he wandered in and then raptly paid attention to the teacher. Kadie didn't have close relationships with the teachers. She was kind of weird about adults. But grades were important to her. And subconsciously, she did want the teachers approval, though she stayed mostly quiet and away from them whenever she could. She'd always craved her parents approval and had never gotten it. She would deny trying to get the teachers approval and say she was no teachers pet. But it was just on a subconscious level.
At the instructions she began working on trying to get the patronus. This spell was a little bit harder. But one she was determined to get. It took her a quite awhile, but when she finally saw the swan gliding through the classroom, she smiled and continued practicing. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

Post by Kenny Micheal Templeson on May 25, 2011 13:13:06 GMT -5
Kenny gave a really nice smile as the professor awarded him some house points for the answer he gave about the Patronus charm. Even though another student who did a good job explaining about the charm got more than him he didn’t mind at all, he was fair and let it go as he took down a few notes to study for in case he was to blank out about the Patronus Charm a charm that he was still learning about. He then paid attention to what the Professor was talking to the class about the charm as she showed the class an example of how a Patronus Charm would be like.
Kenny watched on with a look of amazement as The Professor took out her wand, the young student was actually a bit curious to find out what happy memory she had in mind. Suddenly, as soon as the professor said the incantation, Kenny noticed that from out of the wand came a small cat that looked so adorable as he was really impressed already, he then noticed that the cat became a few traces of silver mist after the professor waved her wand again. After seeing the outcome Kenny knew this was a really challenging charm and must have been real difficult, just then the class was informed by the professor that they should give the chant a try which took Kenny by surprise. He was nervous that he might fail the challenge but he did not want to mess up and watched as others gave it a try as some found it hard to do.
Finally, Kenny got up from his seat and decided to give it a try as he got out his wand and try to think of a good memory for the incantation as he closed his eyes and begin to concentrate while taking some deep breaths. He tried to think of a memory and thought about the time his mother gave him her own quidditch chaser gloves as a birthday gift and soon enough Kenny opened his eyes and began to say the chant “Expecto Patronum” He said in a calm tone and as a result……Nothing which baffled Kenny as he thought that maybe it wasn’t too much of a good memory. Kenny was not going to give up as he took a few more deep breaths and closed his eyes to think harder as he tried to find the right good memory and there were so many but were hard to come up with, that is until he thought of the time during his third year at Hogwarts when Hufflepuff won the house cup which was the greatest moment in his young life, he then opened up his eyes and moved the wand in a smooth manner and began to say the incantation one more time. “Expecto Patronum” he said in a more determined tone as suddenly his wand began to flash up and then suddenly he saw on the ground what appeared to be a furry Blue point Himalayan cat which meowed and purred while looking at Kenny. The young hufflepuff student did not know what to think at all, but he waved his wand again and the cat vanished as the silver mist appeared in the air leaving Kenny speechless and almost as if he was going to faint.
