It was a typical sunday at Hogwarts. Students were in thier common rooms and doing thier last minute homework or hiding in hte library to get that last minute report done for class tomorrow. Or they had given up and were just lounging around or being out with friends. What else were students to do on a sunday. Although the weather was great, a little chilly in the breeze, but sun and no clouds in the sky. Perfect for quidditch but there were no games going on today. Quidditch was probably starting up soon, at least practices where which ment that try outs were coming up for some houses. Once the games started up though she would have something to do which was exciting. Something other than studying. Cassandra left the common room with her backpack as if she was going to the library. There was even a book in there, but all of her homework was done. Quickly she left the castle so no one would notice her and she went to the lawn area. For the most part it was empty, obviously there were some students enjoying the last of the nice weather. The place she was heading though was very private and on the other side of the castle. It was a spot she found once and kept coming back when life was too stressful to deal with others. The teenage girl was in a pair of her jeans and a long sleeve shirt that was black. Nothing to identify her house since she was meeting someone from Hufflepuff. After walking a bit she found the spot and sat down. She set her back pack next to her and began to pull out her tea kettle and some cups. Cassandra also pulled out her wand and used a little spell to creat a fire to boil the water. Every time her grandmother came over they had afternoon tea in the dinning room. Her grandmother would make her father come home from work early just to have tea. In a way it was almost amusing but she liked it. Cassandra had always been a coffee drinking but tea was also good and tasted good. For a moment she did feel wierd sitting there with a tea kettle and two cups but she figured that feeling would pass when the hufflepuff got there.

Sunday had finally come at Hogwarts as this day would always involve students finishing up there last minute assignments given to them by the professors or finish up projects at the library. Most of the students would also have the chance to hang out with there friends to do some hanging out before tomorrow when class would begin again as usual. The day was pretty nice to say the least as there was bright sun and a gentle cool breeze. This weather would be nice for quidditch though no games were going on yet as it was to start soon which would be great for Kenny as he would do his best to help lead Hufflepuff to victory.
Kenny left the common room as quietly as he can to the lawns. He didn’t seem to be bothering anyone as he noticed some of the students walking by talking about different stuff. He finally reached the exit of the castle and made his way to the lawn area. It seem like a nice area to go to on a sunny day but where he was going was somewhere private that no one can be seen. He was clad in a white long sleeve shirt and some dark blue jeans and shoes so that he didn’t look all familiar as he made his way to the area.
He then finally found the private spot that he was informed to be met at as he saw Cassandra and smiled. Ever since he met her at the astronomy towers in the castle the hufflepuff felt so connected with the slytherin. They shared so much in there past with troubled lives and both being half blood was also unique to them. They even had there first date at Hogsmeade and looking at the stars which also featured some nice kissing which they enjoyed. He noticed some cups and a fire going on as he walked to her and waved. “Hello there Cassandra how are you today?” he asked her hoping he got her attention to make her smile.

She was practicing the spell that made fire and contained it under the kettle. She was focused and watching the tea kettle. It was a decent tea set, the kind that you find for students going to school. And it definately looked like a muggle tea set but whatever her grandmother bought it for her. Secretly she had a bad feeling about her grandmother. Something was going to happen and her grandmother was going to require something from Cassandra. For now she did not know what it would be. It was hard to be trusting of someone who came into your life when you were eleven after being told that she was dead. However she saw the family resemblence and hoped that it allowed for her to pass as a pureblood in society.
The feeling she had before was still the same and was still weird. It was like she was playing house in the middle of the woods while she was heating the tea. Her wand controled the fire and with her other hand she was manipluating the tea leaves and placing the exact amount in each cup. Because she spent so much time practicing the spells from thier year she ended up working on spells from the years ahead of them. One might believe Cassandra just had this natural ability to do magic.
She was pulled from her thoughts when she heard Kenny's voice. She turned slightly and smiled. "hey there." She said and then used to wand to bring the tea kettle over to the cups and she poured water in both. Some may have believed that she would have made a good pureblood housewife. "How are you?" She asked as she moved so he could sit closer to her. Cassandra kept up the warm smile and then offered him the cup of tea. "be careful I may have made the water too hot."

He noticed that Cassandra was doing some sort of spell that involved making fire as he worried if she was careful in doing the spell. He knew about the fire spells in his previous years though he was always a bit nervous in casting those spells because he was worried that if he did it might go around and spread quickly causing so much trouble. He did do a fire spell once however and it actually went off without problems at all. He noticed that she had something of a tea set with the tea kettle being heated from the fire.
He really wondered why did she had a tea kettle to begin with and also wondered if the fire wouldn’t harm the lawns at all as he watched her cook the kettle and control the fire. He never really wanted to show off so much though he did want to prove to the people that he was able to cast magic so good that he wouldn’t be much of a lonely soul at all. He can do some of the basic spells but he did however wish that he can cast an advance spell the first time without any worries at all and maybe impress Cassandra as well though he can only dream the dream for now.
Kenny noticed that Cassandra saw him as she smiled at him and greeted him as he felt so wonderful that he was having the chance of spending time with her. He then looked on as she poured hot water in two cups one obviously for him as he was asked how was he today. “Well I’m pretty good and how about you?” he asked her as he saw her moving close to him so that she can sit by him as he took the cup which was a bit hot. He looked in the cup and saw that it was tea as he took a nice sniff and felt relaxed by the nice scent. “I will try to be careful, this looks really nice” he said as waited for it to cool down a bit to take a sip.

Cassandra believed that if she looked like she could do magic like a pureblood then people would believe that she was a pureblood. It should be natural and feel natural. Her father always told her that a wand was just an extension of your body not something seperate that she had to learn to control. Magical blood was flowing through her veins. Her father also told her it did not matter if she was a halfblood since blood status never determined the stregnth of a wizard or witch. Blood status just kept them from being murdered by death eaters. So her dad was kind of a morbid person.
At this moment she had no idea how Kenny did in school or how he was with magic but she did not care. It was just school and the best people where not all that good at school. "Pretty good. I got a decent nights sleep so I am ready for tomorrow morning's classes." She answered and smiled. Last night had been another night and she got about five hours of sleep instead of her normal one hour so she was probably more energenic than normal.
"I hope you like the tea. My grandmother sent it to me about a week ago." She commented. "Do you want cream or sugar?" She asked after he finally took a sip. It was one of those fancy teas that were served at tea time with rich people. "So tell me more about yourself." She said since she felt like she did not know him all that well. She knew that he was a good kisser and was from hufflepuff and a half blood but that was really it. Oh and knew that he wanted to be a quidditch player. There was obviously more to a person than just those few things. "you know... like favorite book, and favorite subject. Stuff like that."

Kenny always had talks with his mother about how to use magic without losing focus and keeping a good balance in doing the spells right. It was her mother who told him whenever he learns a spell to be sure to take your time and concentrate so that you don’t go and quickly rush the spell like that which can probably cause disastrous results which can be bad if he was in class. Thankfully his mother really kept him on his toes when he would be on school break so that he wouldn’t forget at all about learning the spells he learned in class each year.
Kenny never really bother to ask how she did well in magic because it felt to much of a hassle in case she felt like she didn’t want to go and talk about it as he never really want to say how good he is when he is still doing his best in learning new spells in classes. He was then told by Cassandra about how she got a good amount of sleep after last nights date. “That’s nice, I got some good sleep as well after last night, I have a feeling tomorrows classes are going to be a challenge and I need the rest to be ready.” he said as he did felt a bit nervous about the classes.
As Kenny took a sip of the tea he was told by Cassandra that her grandmother sent it to her a week ago which might be really good stuff as he was then asked if wanted sugar or cream. “I’d like some sugar please two things of it.” he said as he took another small sip of the rich looking tea. He never really had tea to begin with though he knew that his mother had always had a nice cup of tea with friends or family after they moved to England, now he realized why his mother really loved tea. He was then asked to tell her about himself, after all he did mentioned he was in hufflepuff and wanted to be a quidditch player and was a half blood like her and also was a good kisser according to her. He often find it hard to talk about himself honestly but she mentioned about favorite book and subject as he found that to be a bit easy. “Well my favorite subjects happens to be Charms and Transfiguration, I enjoy learning new incantations and I love having to change one object to another and stuff like that. Books well, I love to read random books now and then my favorite is Romeo and Juliet.” he said as he wonder how Cassandra would react to his favorite things.

If Cassandra was able to practice at home then she would practice all day and all night. She was determined to be the best in her class and in her house. So far she was pretty good but her dueling needed work. It was probaby her physical ability since she couldnt use a broom to save her life. She also was not very fast, which was fine since she did not play quidditch, but she did worry about her dueling skills. She knew there was a dueling club around Hogwarts and when it started up this year she planned on joing it.
Monday classes always sucked because everyone was still in the weekend mind set and could barely get through the classes. Cassandra was guilty of it as well but she tried hard to focus during mondays. "Every day we have classes is challenging." She commented and smiled. It was true since Hogwarts was trying to push them as witches and wizards. She accepted the challenge and was going to give her house a good name.
She handed him the sugar since she brought some packets that the kitchen served at dinner. She looked down at her cup of tea and took a sip. It was a flavorful tea and the flavor was not too sweet which was nice. Her mother used to have the cutest china set for the important guests that came to tea. It was one of those with the nice flower print and her mother had picked pink flowers. Cassandra never cared for those since they could break easily and were just too pink. However she did like the idea of having a nice tea set. Maybe after she graduated and moved into her first place. Then hse listened to him talk about his favorite stuff. "Charms is my second favorite class but it is so useful." She said and took another sip of tea. "i do love muggle books too."

Kenny never really thought of practicing his spells all the time at home after all his mother did let him know that he can at least have a chance to take a rest from practicing the spells and get out of the house for fresh air often when he was on break. Kenny seem to do good in casting spells but he was often a bit nervous in dueling to be honest. He did sign up for Dueling Club this year at hogwarts and was actually eager to take part of it and maybe do good in it. He did wonder though what will happen if he had to duel Cassandra as that worried him a bit if it will jeopardize his friendship with her.
He really didn’t mind the classes so much but Monday’s were really a downer for him as he would feel a bit tired from the weekend and feel like maybe it was a tough time to go back to learning. He did enjoy the classes regardless because he still keep a good focus on the work and made sure he listened to the professors lesson for the day so that he wouldn’t feel all worn out of studying. He was then told by Cassandra that every day classes can be challenging as he nodded in agreement. “I have to agree, as much as it is good to do lessons it can be really difficult to complete them but we will get by.” he said keeping his smile small for now.
As Cassandra handed Kenny the sugar packets he carefully opened one at a time to put in his tea for it to blend in the tea. After the sugar blended in the tea he took another sip as he really loved the taste of it. He somehow had the trait like his mother of adding a couple of sugars in the tea which seemed a bit strange but didn’t let it bother him. “So what are your other favorite subjects Cassandra?” He asked her hoping to keep the conversation up as he took another sip of the tea. “What is your favorite muggle book?” he added as she mentioned that she loved muggle books as well. Apparently he enjoyed some muggle books he and his mother had back home that both enjoyed reading.

If the pair had to duel then Cassandra would do what she had to do. He could not take it personally since everyone had to duel people and she was not going out just take it easy on him because they had been on dates. It was cruel but one could not let thier personal feelings get in the way of class or business. Thats just how things were and if he could not accept that then thier relationship would not last long. He was nice and all but she needed to prove that she was a pureblood and the best in her house. With thoughts like that no wonder she was in Slytherin. It seemed the she could be crueler than she thought.
Monday classes only sucked when Cassandra did not sleep well the night before and did not get enough coffee at breakfast. Her first class of the day was generally a history class which was even worse because the professor would lecture and she would just be bored. By the time her body felt awake enough it would be time for her next class. But her schedual flowed nicely thought the day and she even had some free time in the middle of the day once in a while. Next year she planned to fill all of her time with NEWTS classes.
She did not care that he added sugar to his tea since her father did the same. It seemed like he was always wired on caffine and sugar. She did hope to grow up and be similar to him since he was a good guy who was smart, but she did not want to inherit his business. "Well my favorite subject is potions." She said and swirled the tea around in the cup like she was tasting a nice wine or something. "my favorite book always depends on what sort of mood I am in. Right now I would have to say it is The Time Machine by HG Wells." She answered. It was a good book that thought about the dangers of time travel but still it made her happy.

Kenny had to accept the fact that if it was to come down between him and Cassandra then he would have to duel against her no matter what. He didn’t like the idea of having to duel against the girl that had really enjoy his company so much but if it had to be Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin in dueling then so be it he had to show Hufflepuff that he can prove them to become a real help in winning them the house cup. He didn’t want to let it get in the way of there relationship at all because he feared that if it did there relationship would end and he didn’t want that to happen at all.
To him classes on Mondays seem like a slow moving day every week of this year as he had to learn so much about the lesson of the day and take down notes about spells and incantations and potions. In honesty when he is done that day he is nearly tired out though he had to keep his strength up for doing homework and so much stuff. He also had another reason to be ready this year as he now has OWLs to study for and he had a feeling it was going to be a major pain in remembering so much for this year. He was grateful mostly for Wednesdays because it would be preparing for the weekends early as he feel that it gives him more time to relax for a change.
He never really understand why so many students are into sugar and caffeine well unless that they need it to help cram for the OWLS then that would be fair. He seem to really have the friendly trait so much like his mother whom he really enjoyed so much. He then listened to Cassandra as she said her favorite class is Potions as he grinned. “That’s nice that you like potions its an ok class” he said though it was a bit odd to be in a class at Slytherin grounds though he cant let it bother him for now. “Wow I heard of that book though I never had a chance to read it” Kenny added as Cassandra mentioned that one of her favorite muggle books was The Time Machine by HG Wells, he heard of it from his mother and honestly he wanted read that book someday whenever he is at break from Hogwarts.

She hoped that if there was a dueling club battle between Hufflepuff and Slytherin then he would not hold back. She wanted to duel strong people and see where here abilties were at. If she had to guess her abilities were strong but that could have been because she saw herself in a better light like all Slytherins. However she definately had the ambition that come with being a Slytherin. Carefully she set her wand down next her since she did not need it anymore for the fire.
The OWLS could not be over soon enough. She knew that they were at the end of the year but she just wanted them over so she could see the grades. She took a deep breath and sighed softly. The breeze was soft and blew her hair out of place. So she quickly tucked it back behind her ear. Before meeting Diana she never really cared about her hair, as long as it was brushed. Now she was using magic to make it wavey or straight in the mornings and using magic for make up.
Unlike most people Cassandra drank coffee for the taste... not the energy that came with it. The energy that came with it was just an added bonus. "yeah... I guess its like really typical of a Slytherin to like potions. But there is just something so amazing about it like how you can give and take life with just a few ingredients." She explained with a smile on her face. "yeah... I have it down in my trunk. You can borrow it one day." She commented. It would be hard to get it to him, and even sneak it out of her trunk. So maybe on the train ride home she could let him borrow it for christmas.

Kenny did wonder though if say Hufflepuff were to beat Slytherin in dueling he wonder if Cassandra would take it very upset like or will she understand what had to be done to win in dueling. If he did had to duel against Slytherin he would have to stand his ground and not give up at all because it would be the chance to step up and show the school he will not give up no matter how tough it will seem. He did had his wand kept in his pocket of his jeans just in case if something did happen to interfere between there little date for instance if the fire was to spread somehow and he would try to be a hero and stopped it.
For the young hufflepuff the OWLS was going to be a tough one which may be why he was cooped up so much in the common room alone. He did want to do so well that maybe his fellow Hufflepuff students would be very impressed by his hard work. However all the studying wouldn’t matter if he didn’t get the chance to stop for a while and meet people for a change and yet it seemed as if by meeting Cassandra things may have seem ok for him. He noticed Cassandra’s hair being moved a bit from the breeze and actually begin to blush a bit as he watched her tucked her nice hair back. He really seem to like how the breeze was playing with her hair though he didn’t feel like he should go and say it as he had no reason to say it at all.
As Kenny listened to Cassandra about why she liked potions he actually understood, he seem to enjoy charms because of the new incantations that he learns each day. “That does seem really great to know, I never really knew that so many different ingredients can make so many impressive potions.” he said as had his smile still on his face. As Cassandra told him about the book she added that she can loan it to him one day for him to read as he was really grateful. “That would be nice thanks” he said as he was trying to think of something else to ask her as he looked at her. “Well do you like pets? If so what kind of pet do you like?” he asked her hoping that she did like them.

The thought of loosing never really crossed her mind since she knew that she knew spells beyond her year but it should have. But half the battle of winning was to have confidence in yourself. Cassandra had a feeling that her ambition would take her far and if she was to loose then she would probably force herself to try harder next time. If she was to loose to him then whatever. She would act disappointed but really be totally over it. Part of her just figured that they would never have to duel... but there was always a possibility.
Actually Cassandra was more looking forward to Christmas vacation. It was always a welcomed first break in the school year and for some reason she wanted that vacation to be there sooner. She figured it was probably because this semester she had not gone home once and had no plans on going home. Normally she was allowed to go home up to once a month to help her father out. She had no idea how her father convinced the headmaster to let her go home once in a while, it was probably because her father looked so sad after her mom left. But now that she was older she had no plans of going home to help him. Which ment she could focus more on school.
"yeah and the potions can do just about anything that regular magic can do." She added. There were potions that could act as charms or potions to transform things into other objects. Potions that created luck and created love. She wondered if she made the love potion if she would smell something that she associated kenny with. Logically the only thing to do was make the potion and find out. That could be her next project. "Pets... yeah I got a cat last summer. He is being lazy down in my dorm room." She explained. "You?"

Kenny was not really keen on losing to be honest as he was really getting into knowing his spells really well. However if it did had to happen someday then he would have to accept the fact that he didn’t win and that he would have to try harder next time and learn from the mistakes that he might’ve made last time so that he wouldn’t make that same mistake again. If he was to lose to Cassandra however it would be a different story. At first he would feel a bit embarrassed that he lost to her but would eventually get over it after all you can’t win them all honestly.
Kenny did really hope for vacation to come real soon as the weather would change real soon and that winter would be on the way. He did love the Christmas vacation because it would give him a chance to spend some time with his mother as she enjoyed the holidays so much. Even as he is getting old he never really had plans to go anywhere else but home with his real family of wizards. He had really enjoyed being with the family that really cared for him and away from his muggle father who probably is happy forgetting about him and mother.
He then listened on as Cassandra told him that potions can do so much stuff that magic can do as he was surprised by that knowledge. “That really seems so impressive to know I wonder what kind of potions we will learn about this year in class.” he said as he remember that he was in potions class with her as he wondered if there was a potion of true love only time will tell. He was surprised to know that she had a cat last summer, cats were Kenny’s favorite pets but he hadn’t had a chance to get a real pet with all the distractions of school. He did hope to get a house cat soon enough. “Must be a cute pet, well I don’t have a pet. Well, not yet really I do hope to get a cat they are really cute.” he said as he was keeping the conversation going well for now.

Christmas became ever more interesting after her mother left. At first Casandra was scared that it would be just and her father sitting quietly and doing nothing. But then they ended up going to her grandmother house. Her grandmother was having one of those fancy parties with almost every pureblood family there. It was so grand and she got to wear a fancy dress and speak to all of the rich families. This year the same thing would probably happen for her since she doubted that she would actually see Diana and Astrid. Whatever it was thier loss.
"Yeah hopefully we learn about everything in the book we had to get." She commented. This year's text book had been quite large and full of wonderful information, Cassandra had already read most of it. "oh yes he is adorable... lazy and fluffly." She commented and smiled. Her cat, Pharaoh Anubis, was right now laying out on her bed down in her dorm. He was a wierd mix of whites and greys. But she did love that cat. "You know you can keep your pet at school with you." She commented.
She was trying to think of what else to talk about. Then she had an idea. "So... you moved to England... where did you live before?" She asked. She hoped that he did not mind since he seemed guarded of his past. But she was sort of intersted since his accent did seem a bit off... like there was not enough of a british accent. "if you dont want to talk about it thats fine... but I was just curious." She explained. Cassandra grew up in England and always lived close to London while growing up. As they were talking she poured herself some more water for her tea. They were running low on water so Cassandra would have to conjour more up soon.
